I do not agree with the people saying you don’t have to watch The Batman before The Penguin. Like, sure you don’t necessarily need to in order to understand the plot but you absolutely need to see the movie before watching the show. Much of the characters initial characterization begins in the movie and with characterization being the girls main interest in a story they’d be missing out on a big chunk of it. The event of the movie are also directly referenced and important to the show.

Seeing as The Penguin appears to be winning I have to throw my voice in with those saying to please please please watch The Batman (2022) first. I really don't understand those people saying you don't need to. I mean sure, TECHNICALLY you can enjoy the story being told without that movie, but you'd be missing SO MUCH CONTEXT that it'd be a disservice. Like from minute one you'll be wondering why things are the way they are and the show isn't going to go too deeply into it. The plot of the show literally isn't possible without the events of the movie setting things in motion.
Also the show will basically be spoiling key plot points of the movie as well, so watching the movie after would be less impactful.
Will LM watch The Batman leading into The Penguin?
Widows Bay is my vote, but it's new and there's more on the way so I'd love Batman then Penguin!

even though its not essential to the story, watching The Batman would really help in understanding the context behind The Penguin and would make for a great reaction.

I voted The Penguin. Adolescence and Widow's Bay are good. No thanks on Blue Eye Samurai - I want live action. Firefly is dated. Could have been better if given another season or two. I think Firefly would be a letdown to them after The Expanse.

You need to watch The Batman (2022) before the Penguin. The show is a direct continuation off of plot points from the Batman movie. They are both VERY good!

Side note- Station Eleven is a short show that will never ever make it a poll let alone win one cause hardly anyone watched it, but I’m convinced you guys would love it (unique post-apocalypse, amazing characters, beautiful writing). Strongly recommend watching in your spare time some day!!

Smack in the middle millennial reporting for duty. Watched Firefly back in 2005 well after it was cancelled and was so pissed it didn't get to go further. Hell, they never marketed it in the first place to give it a chance, I just found it 3 years later randomly. Also yeah we're cooked, it's tough out here for older shows.
Widow’s Bay is such a treasure for people who have seen Midnight Mass and Severance. It’s like the love child of those two shows.
