Neon Genesis Evangelion Episode 8 Full Reaction

I'll say this now girls, I do hope you go back and look at scenes. As much as I love NGE, it has an issue with dropping information and then quickly switching to another scene, not to mention sometimes the subtitles will be passing by quick as hell when there are multiple characters talking or a lot of dialogue being spoken. Often times when I was watching it by myself years ago, and on rewatching when a new movie came out, I'd have to pause it at certain scenes just to be able to read and have a moment to think of the implications of what was said with what has already been revealed in previous episodes. That scene between Gendo and Kaji is a prime example of it. Such an important scene to the episode and it's literally 26 seconds long.
Yes, that's why for last episode I pointed out that the last scene with Shinji's father would answer a question they had throughout the reaction (of who hacked/sabotaged the Jet Alone), but they ended up rewatching a different scene. They didn't continue asking it in the discussion though, so maybe they figured it out by the end of the episode? I wasn't sure. But you're right, NGE requires a close viewing.

As for the movies, The End of Evangelion is the only one that’s truly essential to watch after the series. There is also a film called Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, but it’s mostly a recap of the TV series with some additional material, so it isn’t essential and can be skipped. The four Rebuild of Evangelion movies are a separate continuity. The series begins as a retelling of the original anime, but from the second film onward it gradually diverges into its own story. Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (2007) Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (2009) Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (2012) Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (2021) I know you don’t usually like reacting to movies, and they’re a pretty big time commitment, so after The End of Evangelion, you can always decide later whether you want to watch the Rebuild films. They expand on some ideas, introduce new ones, explore the world of Evangelion from a different perspective, and help connect some of the dots from the original series while still leaving plenty open to interpretation. They’re also often viewed as the conclusion of Hideaki Anno’s own emotional, psychological, and creative journey with Evangelion, reflecting how both he and his perspective on the series evolved over more than 25 years. But I’m sure almost everyone would love to see your reactions if you decide to watch them. Finally, Evangelion as a franchise isn’t over. In February of this year, a brand-new Evangelion anime series was officially announced. It will be co-produced by Studio Khara, the studio behind the Rebuild of Evangelion films, and CloverWorks, the studio behind series such as Bocchi the Rock! Beyond that, no story details, characters, setting, or release date have been revealed yet.
