After hearing all their sukuna theories I can gladly say they don't understand sukuna at all. Not even the slightest
Can't he just poop out the fingers? Lmaoo
I like to think they’re practicing shadow puppets in his stomach
fun little detail - there is a segment in the fight which Sukuna has such a big smile - its because Mahgorra is kind of a celestial angelic creatureish - and it adapted in the fight to start to throw feints or basically to lie in a fight. It's never had to because nothing has been strong enough to require it to throw fake attacks before - Sukuna is enjoying he has essentially "corrupted' a divine creature to lie
can't wait for tuesday
Happy belated birthday, Milena!
thank youuu🫶🏼
Happy Birthday :)
thank you 🫶🏼
action often falls low on the list of what is important to me in a story, but i really think jjk makes it interesting to me because it's always a vehicle for character exploration/plot development, so episodes like these still hit pretty hard, even up against the more emotional ones that i tend to prefer!
You are my special
"I was having so much fun in season 1" 🤣 I feel the same way lol
happy birthday milena ♡ my most anticipated reaction right now, at this moment, is the episode next season with a certain lawyer. it's my favorite non-action episode and i think they are going to LOVE it
^ peak
YOU ARE MY SPECIAL!
Just wanna say that Maki has no cursed energy. Heavenly Restriction strips you of all cursed energy, even the ability to contribute to the manifestation of cursed spirits like a regular human would. She doesn't see curses without her glasses but there are a small number of regular humans that can see cursed energy e.g the prisoner that saw the cursed womb, and the student that could see the veil.
Actually the vast majority of human only see curse when they are in danger, Maki does have cursed energy, just a small amount and that's why she is weaker than Toji who is the only individual with NO cursed energy at all
I actually like when movies, shows, etc. address the collateral damage that these crazy fight scenes can cause, it's just rough to see it happen at Yuji's expense.
u can really feel the fear watching all of that scenarios being erased so easily
This episode gets so emotional from the moment Yuji regains consciousness. 😢😢 Just as you said, during season 1 we were happy without knowing.
god, real. yuji's reaction fucking breaks my heart here
I like how Megumis Shikigami go, Doggy, Bunnies, Snek, Elephant, DIVINE GENERAL MAHORAGA
No bird? No toad?
Megumi tried to pull that guy out in the first episode against yuji when he ate the first finger. and then against sukuna. And then Toji. And then against Hanami. And then against the special grade at the end of the first season before he decided to try out his domain.
some context on the fight because I know yall dont usually read too deep into the flashy stuff. Yes it was a deadly 17 minute dance with not much character development, but there was actually a lot of logical progression happening. At first its a lot of straight up physical fighting, just throwing each other around and throwing hands. Sukuna really only uses his technique when he gets annoyed and wants to reposition. Big M has a technique that constantly tries to figure out whats happening, and once it identifies a specific cause, it makes itself essentially untouchable to that certain thing, but like nen, it comes with a lot of caveats. If it interprets something incorrectly, it might waste time trying to fix the mistake, and the more complex or overwhelming the attacks, the more time it takes to adapt. It can heal itself as much as it needs to, but because Sukuna was playing with it testing what it could do, Big M kept on adapting to stuff that wasn't as straight forward or as big of an issue. None of the physical punching and kicking would kill Big M, so instead of adapting to the raw damage, it was trying to figure out Sukuna's fighting style. It kept getting interrupted because Sukuna would throw out random slashes just to fuck with him, and his actual physical stats just outscaled any small adaptation Big M could pull off. Basically, the entire fight, Sukuna was dragging it out and slowly increasing his damage output whenever Big M would start to match his pace. Big M was constantly being torn apart, but it got used to that eventually, and instead of focusing on constantly healing, it started to attack before it had even reformed. At one point he even gets his armed severed and without missing a beat, he throws it at sukuna. Close to the end, Sukuna realized Big M was preemptively throwing out attacks with cursed energy, something it had to learn to do because it wasted time adapting to just physical damage at the beginning of the fight. Sukuna realized it was learning to parry and attack through his own attacks before he even threw them out, so he changed his approach and started to use feints, weaving back and forth and making his attacks random while Big M was still treating them like they were all a threat. It learned how to feint because of Sukuna, and one of the big hits he gets against Sukuna were after he used a feint he had just learned. The ending was already kinda explained, this dance between strategy and adaptation, when talking about Big M adapting to sukunas technique, which involves two forms of slicing things. He could try to spend time adapting to both types of slices, or just the act of slicing things in general. If he did the latter, Sukuna's technique would be less effective. He could adapt to both forms of damage if he interpreted it as the latter, saving him time as he regenerated. That's why Sukuna used two big attacks at the end instead of just using his domain.
This episode holds its own. I know you ladies aren't big on high-octane action or intense fight sequences, but even you have to admit that was insane. Seeing the full, finished episode in its glory is so satisfying. Definitely up there in some of the best JJK battles/fights.
BUT IN SOME GOOD NEWS, HXH MANGA IS PEAK AF RN AND I WANT TO SCREAMMMM
people were mad they used the intro song at the end but i feel like it fit tbh. like we lost and they were laughing at us
I never got why people didn't like it. The song is very bleak and dark. It's not exactly a hype song like the previous intro was.
What did Gojo say? "It'll be fine" or something as images of his students flashed by.. In another shounen, maybe things wouldn't have gone this bad so far. But Yuji is being robbed of the protagonist power bump where he'd draw from the inner demon in him. Instead, that demon did the reverse. In my mind, Sukuna is using Yuji's physical prowess during that fight (though I guess Sukuna could just be completely using his own cursed energy for agility and defense) and that's ironic if true.
"I was having the time of my life. The time of my life is over." Welcome to the guts of Season 2. : D
Trauma train incoming !! lol ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
What did yall think of the shot of Sukuna sitting on the traffic light and then bowing as debris rained down everywhere? That’s aura IMO
Milenaaa my birthday twin! happy birthdayyy such a happy episode to celebrate 😃
thank you so much and happy birthday to you as well 🫶🏼🫶🏼
If Nanami looks like that what about the other 2
Happy Birthday Milena!!!! This episode was crazy I can't wait for the next one.
thank you!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼
Shout out to CJ dachamp for coming up with the very plausible theory to why the opening was being played at the end. Sukuna like "enjoy that kiddo, now play that good shit *you are my special sounding in the background*"
For you guys's pronunciation discussion, it is indeed Jogo with the same J sound as Gojo. In japanese, each character can only ever have one pronunciation. There is an extra layer of possible confusion because we're reading english subtitles and not the original japanese, but translators usually take this into account. By good luck, unlike some languages, all the japanese sounds can basically be represented 1:1 using the standard english alphabet. So if you ever struggle with how to pronounce a japanese name or proper noun, pretend each letter would be pronounced like it is in english, and you're already most of the way to being correct. There are a few smaller discrepancies like "R" sounding kinda like "L" and the fact that each vowel sound only has one pronunciation as well (a is like the o in "top", e is like the e in "pet", i is like the ee in "feel", o is like "oh", and u is like the "oo" in boot.) Keep the vowel thing in mind and pronounce all the consonants like english ones, and you have better japanese pronunciation than most people. For bonus points, keep all syllables the same length. Japan doesn't have stressed syllables. With few exceptions, each syllable is one consonant sound followed by one vowel sound. So for example the most accurate pronunciation would be Su-ku-na, with no emphasis or pause between syllables, rather than Su-KU-na. (To be clear you guys say that right, I'm just using an example.)
great reaction as always and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILENA!!!
thank you so much ❤️
Now you know why Sukuna wants Megumi so badly
YOU ARE MY SPECIAL🗣️🗣️🗣️
I remembered back in the day, one of the first translations that came out for this episode, the final dialogue from Yuji said: "Die. Just end your life, coward." It was so tough to read that and really made you feel heartbroken by Yuji’s opinion of himself and the role he had in the jujutsu world. Like he was only capable of bad things. pd: Happy bdayyyyy Milenaaa
thank youuuuuu🫶🏼
Megumi is probably the most misunderstood character in this show(hence the "potential" memes) He's a character that mostly lives for the people he chooses (like his sister or Yuji), thinks his father has left him which reinforces his low self worth and is given a powerful technique that further enforces sacrificing himself for the sake of others. The problem is Gojo himself isn't a perfect teacher for a person like Megumi. After Geto's death he's constantly telling different students(Yuji, Yuta, Megumi, etc) that they can reach his level. Gojo is just desperately in search for another person who can share the weight of the strongest and fill the void. While some of his students might be upto that task I don't think it is healthy to demand the same thing from all of them. Especially when it comes to a character like Megumi who just functions completely differently compared to Yuji even when the have the same goal. In this episode he regresses again to the self sacrificial strategy. Whether living for yourself or only living for other people is the right approach to life is something that is left ambiguous in this show though. Again both answers can be correct for different people.
nah mate, this episode is proof that megumi needs to have a similar mindset. He gave up yet again. I know he didn't have many options, but we can all agree that was overkill. He needs to know himself well enough that he doesn't use his power for the wrong reasons. Yes he has his own world view, but it always isolates his priorities from the big picture, and he ends up responding to situations rather than making himself as useful as possible. We can go round and round about personal agency vs the bigger picture, but what it comes down to is not the fact Megumi used his ace on a weak ass dude, its the fact we see just how powerful some people are like Sukuna in this episode, and Megumi needs to learn how his potential is still his even if he can use it for those he cares about. Its like he treats his technique as a tool, instead of what it really is... himself. Gojo basically wants him to never give up because to do so is essentially being a hypocrite. He has it in him to achieve his goals.
mahoraga is a suicide move. what a double edged sword
the things sukuna put Yuri through it's just disgusting
Happy 25th birthday Milena 🎉
🤣🤣 thank you so much 🫶🏼
Happy birthday Milena
thank youuu so much
Happy bday!
thank you!🥰
Happy Birthday Milena!!!🎉
thank youuuuu!!🫶🏼
It's not a spoiler but just wanted to clarify that Gojo and Sukuna are the absolute ceiling of power in jjk. Gojo saying the next generation will surpass him is him being hopeful. Yuta, Yuji even Megumi with Mohoraga, no one can reach Gojo. He is in a dimension of his own so is Sukuna..
Why write this? Let them watch
happy birthday!
thank you!🫶🏼
Lola with the Thousand-Yard Stare at the end, truly traumatized
HAPPY BDAY MILENA❤️❤️🥳
thank youuuu🫶🏼🫶🏼
PANDA
Season 1 was a trap and this is it springing shut
Also when this episode came out Crunchyroll translated malevolent shrine as malevolent kitchen as it has a double meaning. Sukana’s technique being essentially slice and dice, he’s an evil chef
CANNOT wait for “lalalalaaaa” after this discussion…
The intro is played at the end, because it is a sung by the cursed spirits. They are actively mocking Yuji at the end
Even if there is a reason it's still really weird, feel out of place
Just one reminder, this was not Megumi's power. This was only a ritual to subjegate the Mahoraga, he never managed that. Mahoraga would always go to first kill him in this ritual as well and there is no way out unless you beat it.
But this IS what Gojo and others were referring to when they mention Megumi having "potential", unless I've heavily misunderstood. Such as Gojo saying a Ten Shadows user defeated someone with the same powers as Gojo. There's nothing in the Ten Shadows skillset that could possibly beat Gojo besides Mahoraga.
It's more Mahoraga as opposed to Megumi. I get it it's part of his technique but technically it's something he's incapable of even subjugating
I mean the whole show is framing it as part of megumi. It’s part of why sukuna wants him and why gojo is always telling him he has potential. It’s just his potential realized
LFG!!!!!
someone said that the reason sukuna got something to eat and drink before the fight was because he wanted to give yuji something to throw up after😭😭 idk if its true but i wouldn’t put it past sukuna😭
I think the popcorn and soda is a nod to the fact that we're about to watch a movie.
whoever decided to play the opening early right as yuji is having a literal breakdown is EVIL 😭
You are my special <3
Happy 25th birthday, Milena! 👏🏻🎂
thank youuu, it’s only the sixth time i’m celebrating it 😁
Yes, thats Megumi "secret weapon", that he threatens to use many times in the Last, the pinnacle of the "potential Man". Ladies and Gentleman: Mahoraga
BIG RAGA 🗣️
HOLO HOLO it’s here!!
I've started calling him Yogo now.
Roses are red, weapons against me won’t prosper, with this sacred treasure I summon Big Raga the opp stoppa! Free Gojo!
Oh sweet baby Jesus😭
I'm not caught up with jjk but either way I'm probably watching all these episodes reactions either way 🙃 I'm skipping my pre-work nap to watch this
And this is exactly why the Kyota principal wasn't "evil" for wanting to execute yuji. You just witnessed their worst case scenario biggest fear. "our boy" as you like to say just lost control of his body and massacred tons of ppl. Lol I think the girls often get so carried away with their emotions and forget the fact some of these ppl are simply too dangerous or out right evil, like their beloved geto who is responsible for the deaths of tons of innocent ppl or even jogo who was burning innocent civilians alive in season 1
But how can it be Yuji's fault? Until two months ago, he knew nothing about this whole situation; it was Gojo who convinced him to hold on and sacrifice himself after eating Sukuna's fingers. though it feels wrong to say it's Gojo's fault, when all he did was stop a kid from taking his own life...
Malevolent Shrine OST is one of my favorites in all of anime…Absolute cinema FUGA 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can't watch rn cuz I have work but at least now I know I can put it on as soon as I get back home yay
I’m mahoragaing it
The wait is over: YOU ARE MY SPECIAL
Happy Birthday 🥳
thank you! 🫶🏼
THE POTENTIAL
For Sukuna, I could see a very fun and interesting story where I would want to see him come out. That could be fun and interesting for our boy as well. Milena 2x11
