I know I'm way late to the party, and I'm sure I'll see in the next 12 episodes they've posted how they really feel about the show, but looking at two people who love both CSM and AoT and saying they wouldn't like JJK feels absurd to me
I know you’ll like it girls, because and I’m sorry if I’ll offend people, but only surface level watchers think of this as a purely action show. And taking into account your AoT reactions, which were one of the best I’ve seen, I know you’ll be able to see deeper than the action scenes. Without giving spoilers, JJK is a show about love and connections, sacrifice and the burden of power.

As someone who wouldn't put either of JJK or Demon Slayer in my top 10 anime (or top 20...), it's hilarious seeing the same people in the comment section complaining about the JJK hate also openly hating on Demon Slayer in an identical way? The cognitive dissonance is crazy.

I haven’t watched you guys much since AOT and Breaking Bad. But I didn’t realize the fanbase here was apparently so elitist. Hearing you say JJK has been the most controversial and hated on show in your comments was genuinely surprising to me. Nobody is saying it’s a work of art but it’s a completely enjoyable and well made anime and it’s so harmless/inoffensive im struggling to understand why there’s a strong reaction to it.
Yea reading more comments here and this is just bizarre. JJK is usually a slam dunk recommendation for any reaction channels even remotely into anime (of course because of the views and fans it will attract) but also because it’s very well made and fun to watch and despite what people here seem to be dismissing it as, it does have great moments of character and emotions. Never seen a fanbase resist it this hard. Especially considering theyve watched and enjoyed AOT and Chainsaw Man, like what makes people think they can’t enjoy JJK either?

Hunter X Hunter used to be my favorite anime. This show has surpassed that. You guys will love it.
HxH remains top 5 for me for a reason. JJK is amazing, but not like the world of HxH.
Demon Slayer, put simply there's parts of it I think they'd like (endearing characters, emotional moments), and parts they wouldn't (heavy action, stupid humour). It really depends if they want to watch something that is catered perfectly to their tastes versus if they want to watch something that will be up and down. I like a mix of both. I would at least say the first season is worth reacting to.

People don’t understand preference usually they just decided if they don’t like it you won’t. They also assume if it’s action you won’t like it. You care about characters and JJK has great characters and great action. I would say Demon Slayer is in the same boat they have great characters maybe not the highest brow of plot but you would love all the characters.

Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man are like cousins, Jujutsu Kaisen is more focused on action and Chainsaw Man is more focused on characters, although both focus on action and characters to a certain extent.

I didn’t realize that JJK was so controversial. I think that there’s room in the world for shows like both Frieren and JJK, as someone who absolutely loves both. If they enjoyed HxH and Chainsawman, they may enjoy this equally or maybe not. Don’t understand the hate either way. It’s just TV everyone. Relax. :) JJK is a really fun ride, with a lovable (sometimes) cast of unique characters with beautiful, experimental animation. It tries to push the boundaries of a typical action anime, which I appreciate. Sure, it's action-focused, but I think that people sometimes forget how charming the main cast actually is. It may turn out that it's not their cup of tea, but it's fun that they're giving a shot. I expected they might after how much they've enjoyed Chainsawman. And who can't love Yuji right from episode 1??
They would 100% enjoy Demon Slayer and love Tanjiro. This isnt me campaigning for it to be on a poll cause it would most likely beat something I want them to watch more but the hate is overblown
I really liked Tanjiro in season 1, too. I even saw the infinity train movie in theater, but it all became immensely uninteresting to me past that. It’s possible I stopped too early or judged too harshly, but everything I heard about the show afterward only confirmed what I’d felt. Characters developing their skills was replacing them developing as people.
Can we actually discuss the episode or are we going to spend 6 months commenting vaguely how you don't like the show? What specifically in this episode you didn't like? What did you like? etc. It just gets to a point like we fucking get it okay

The intro is funny to me because i don’t think jujitsu kaisen is any better than demon slayer lol. I actually think demon slayer would be more up your alley due to the characters. But both are kinda mid to me so i’ve been in the anti camp for both.

Thing is chainsaw man is a character driven show vs jjk being an action driven show. Jjk is ok but not some crazy masterpiece that some people think it’s is. But it’s not horrible and it fs is entertaining. And also has some funny moments.

Wait, I haven't had a chance to watch their reaction yet, but did the girls mention Demon Slayer in the video? There seem to be a lot of comments discussing DS, so I'm guessing yes? I'll be honest: if there were a poll with Demon Slayer today, I'd absolutely pick one of the other options. Not because I think they'd dislike it, but because there are other shows I'm more interested in watching them react to. As the CSM and JJK voters pointed out, nobody can truly predict how the girls will feel about a show. Maybe they'd love Demon Slayer... maybe they'd hate it. We simply have no way of knowing for sure. If you don't like a show, when the time comes, don't vote for it. Arguing about whether something is good or bad won't change any opinions. 🤷

I really like JJK personally, significantly more than Demon Slayer. I also didn’t vote for JJK like a lot of people who’ve been criticising it since it appeared on the poll. I think the hard reality is, there isn’t much left to draw from in terms of anime that perfectly fit the bill for what we know the girls will love. The well simply isn’t that deep anymore, because those shows are few and far between as it is. The same is true for live-action shows at this point but I think there are still some major shows to cover. Have to adapt and change with what’s still left to watch in my opinion, otherwise we really will run out aha

Oh this is gonna be fun. I don't think you guys have watched a ton of shonen type stuff (although I remember you guys loved HxH which was a big influence on it, although the tone is different). While people can be a little too prescriptive in saying what they think reactors will/won't like, it will probably help that you're heading into it with reasonable expectations.

Isn't it going to be like a year+ ? 48 episodes for s1 and s2 combined. Then however many season 3 is going to have. And then also the movie. At 1 ep a week thats a 1.25-1.5 years
This show is fun. That’s all I’ve got to say. Nothing remarkable or deep (in my entirely subjective opinion). It’s just fun. I’m excited to see how you guys respond to these types of shows.
I think S2 and 3s art direction make it something that’s elevated above normal action shows. I just hope they enjoy S1 enough to get there.
Early days but for people who’ve watched the show, would it make sense for the girls watch order to go: Season 1 First 5 episodes of Season 2 Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (movie) The rest of Season 2 and so on Feels like the most coherent order in my mind.
this is the wrong order. it's better to watch the movie before season 2 as it was released. I would say it's much better narratively this way.

Nah. JJK is better than Demon Slayer by far. I never experienced zero dimensional characters like in Demon Slayer before. JJK has a lot of fighting but there are great moments and interesting story lines. Demon Slayer is so boring, so bland... I don't even like the sibling relationship there.
Well rip the anime slot for a while.. I hope you girls enjoy this anime more than I did lol. I won’t criticize it or bad mouth it since I don’t want to spoil your fun.

It's finally here! Ok to make this easy as the black haired dude said curses are formed when all the negative emotions of humans (regret - shame - fear - anxiety) are directed towards something. It's very similar to ChainsawMan but here it's EVERY NEGATIVE emotion you can think of, even regret. However the word "curse" is used for many other reasons too in this show and even metaphors (like the final words of Yuji's grandpa) so keep that in mind.
This is such a well written show that has gotten better with every season. Looking forward to these reactions!
