Hello again! Been a while. I’ve re-subbed for Mad Men - one of my top three favourite TV shows. I recommended it after you watched The Wire as I thought it'd be the perfect show to take the edge off after such an intense show. You’re in S3 of Mad Men already, ok I’ve got catching up to do. There are still several classic episodes to come. There used to be a fan webpage called WWDDD (What Would Don Draper Do?) - in which ‘Don Draper’ would answer questions about life, work, etc. It’s probably still around. Looking back, it’s remarkable that a toxic narcissist like Don was revered by followers of the show. People wanted to be like him. It’s truly a credit to the show’s writing and character development. I’d go as far to say that none of the characters are actually likeable - they’re all very flawed, selfish, self-interested… and unhappy in one way or another. Yet it still makes for engrossing TV. Fun fact: I’m sure you know by now the show runner is Matthew Weiner - one of the exec producers of The Sopranos.

This isn’t the WWDDD site I remember but you get the idea:

Milena: "Don moved inside and found a stranger to talk honestly with." Don loves these situations. Heard Matthew Weiner say in an interview once that "Don likes strangers. Don likes winning strangers over. And that's what advertising is."

The Charleston dance is one of my favorite moments! UNBEARABLY CUTE!! and funnier when you think of the hours they must've spent working on the choreography in their apartment. Pete's (many) issues aside, they really are an adorable couple

its so funny to me imagining them practicing, but i also get the sense they had this in their back pocket since they first met thru college mixers or whatever lol
