I’m late but I think this the first time I cried to your reactions with yall lol because I genuinely love Gon as a character. He literally is the nicest person you could ever meet and I totally agree missing this side of Gon but I do think Gon was fighting for humanity tho on the others hand.

The girls don't want Gon's nen to come back because it's dangerous. Ging doesn't want Gon's nen to come back because that means he can tell him "no you can't come with me."

Any theories on why Knuckle was choking Hanzo? I think it's cause Hanzo was gonna start talking about how he's a ninja.
Haha I always assumed it was because he was like enjoying the limelight, he thought the crowd loved him (there was some ppl in crowd like who's the bald guy?) And I always thought they were shouting at Hanzo to run for chairman, but it was probably to gon 😂

Killua in the first episode of this arc said that Gon needs to apologise this time. I don't think Ging deserves to be hated because he trusts Gon's friends, it's the whole point of the show. It's twisted to moralize about everything he says when you like Phantom Troupe, some chimera ants or Pariston himself who is the evil and weaker version of Ging
That's insane lmao Ging is literally a deadbeat dad who, at the sight of his twelve year old son, whines to himself that he can't get out of it. just because you have no morals doesn't mean its "twisted" to have them
This whole experience was stressful for Leorio. Not being able to save a friend is his greatest nightmare. This was his PTSD arc.

Thank you so much for almost finishing this up! As a Manga reader my vote would be to stay on the sidelines and hope for Togashi's continued good health and wait for the next anime in another decade or so. I was stuck on the Berserk boat for a long time and this current HxH arc is probably still in the relatively early chapters. You don't want the current pain of "Hiatus X Hiatus".

Lola said something that almost no one realizes at first, the reason why Killua can skip the rule of Alluka to make wishes in a row is because Alluka Loves/needs Killua (codependence nen) Togashi's work as a writer is too good, even tho the introduction of Alluka feels like a Deus ex Machina and we can said that was his mistake, he kept the key for perfect magic/power systems, everything has a cost. For the anime, the payment Killua is doing is unclear but once you know what Nanika really is, it all makes sense, I wont spoil as they might want to read the manga.
Didn't Killua say in the last episode that Alluka doesn't make greedy requests if you ask her to heal someone instead of ask for something selfish like money?

It's so surreal to think that this series reaction is almost over... I truly cannot comprehend how you only have 3 episodes left like what?? And I doubt I'll fully realize it until the next poll lol

We have to admit it, Alluka is the most creative plot armor that Gon could had.
I've heard a lot of criticism towards Alluka being a cop out for Gon's sacrifice, but I honestly couldn't disagree more. Gon dying as a result of his fight with Pitou wouldn't have improved the story in the slightest, instead it would have massively limited the types of stories Togashi could tell with our other boys because of the spectre of Gon hanging over them. On top of that Alluka gave him the opportunity to delve into the Zoldyk family dynamics, organically introduce world building that is relevant for the upcoming arc and most of all create an incredibly emotionally satisfying ending for Killua's arc. Ultimately he could have just written it so a nen-exorcist could get rid of the restriction and they had to deal with the result of that, or that Gon was actually fine he'd just lost his nen. This way imo manages to both show how much of a sacrifice Gon had to make for that immense power, whilst doing it in such a way where it feels like a natural extension to the world.
I know emotions were high for them but “biggest coward” in anything she’s seen is crazy lol. I don’t think they’re quite in tune with just how much cognitive dissonance there is in people, the sheer fact that ging has always acknowledged what he was when a lot of people don’t or lie to themselves constantly already disqualifies him of that. There absolutely are bigger cowards that they’ve seen in shows on the channel just from a glance. And the ging hate is usually pretty meme territory, yes he’s an awful dad, but there’s legitimately more vitriol towards him vs actual mass murderers and pedophiles on the show lol.
I do have my own analysis of Ging's actions that I'll post on their reaction after 148. But I'm not sure they (or the fans in this group) will be receptive to it. I think its a pretty good analysis so hopefully I don't have people jumping down my throat lol
And I’m sad you girls will never get to experience the next arc from HxH.. I highly doubt we will ever get an anime continuation to be honest because there is so much to unpack over there in that story.. regarding Gin, well.. he is a dead beat father and a selfish prick but also such an interesting character with such a complex goals that you would think that something as simple as meeting his son would be easy but as you saw Hunters are either weird or fucking crazy. It’s been great watching you girls react to this anime but is almost time to end this journey :”(
Don't lose faith, Togashi is locked in right now, he's updating us with the manga everyday for like 2 months without missing a beat. It won't take too long for the current arc to finish, and after that we could get an anime adaptation of 20-30 episodes or something like that, my guess is 2 or 3 years.
What Gin did in this arc was magnificent. Gin being on of the top 3 hunters in the world has numerous dangerous enemys one of them being pariston hes extremely dangerous. If Gin showed any signs of love or care for gon, his enemys would target Gon. Most of the hunters did not knew of gon being his son therefore keeping him safe. If Pariston knew that Gin cared for Gon he would had target Gon. Most likely Gin knew about Nanika, In fact Gon meeting Killua was part of Gin plans therefore keeping Gon safe. Gin Pick up Leorio on porpuse not because he wanted Leorio to Win, He used leorio to make Pariston Win, the words he said about Gon not dying, those words where said on purpose. Gin tricked Pariston into making him the new chairman. He wanted Pariston to stay.........He wanted to go Alone to the place he wants to go. Only in the very End Pariston saw through Gins plans, On making him a chairman and leaving him behind. Gin Is not mean to be a father, His intellect, Potential, Power, Prodigy, Far Far surpass Gon. Hes aware of that, therefore for Gin to have a kid is very unlike him, Gons is a mystery so far as to where he came from. Is very Unlikely that Gin knowing about that place he wanted to go, on the way he fell in love and had a child, thats very unlikely but possible. Gin is aware that hes is one in Millions, in fact hes one the handful hunters that can go to that place.
there is no need to defend Gin loll he's a horrible father and that's okay. you can like him as a character but don't excuse his behaviour towards Gon by saying he was some mastermind behind the scenes that saved Gon. it was Killua, Leorio and all their other friends who worked hard to save Gon while Gin played games
