Dev Notes — Sept 21, 2026
Almost October again. Looking back at this time last year and the year before, we were always in full-on crunch mode.
Not so much this time. Partly because we want to polish things better, partly because there's just no way to finish it all in a short sprint. Hope everyone understands.
That said, progress is steady. We've started working on the final boss — a character that deserves serious design effort. Hoping this boss fight will bring the game to a proper climax.
This Week's Tasks
Start the Glutton's QTE animation
Finish the final boss's base animations
Continue making workwear for the mutants
Start building the animation blueprint and controller blueprint for the final boss
Also — a tricky issue
As the number of costume mods grows, our current mod loading system has run into a serious problem: too many asset loads are blowing up VRAM, causing texture quality to tank and making everything look blurry.
After digging through the docs, I found that UE loads every referenced asset into memory when the data table loads — and never releases them. Classic hard reference pitfall. The fix would probably be switching the costume table to soft references. But with all the existing mods, retrofitting that is nearly impossible.
Still scratching my head over this one. At least it doesn't block new content production.

i never liked QTE in games, it detracts from the aesthetics. i like to just play the game and sometimes have it switch to cutscenes during boss battles to see that nice slow-mo blade swing or bullet
Make this game to be GOTY! So much potential! You guys are rocking this! don't ever quit and make more games!
Hi !! My bro and I have been playing this game for the 5 past days. It’s super fun. We picked the hardest difficulty, and I gotta admit that it is a nightmare. It seems unbalanced & impossible at times but we manage. Be careful on the scaling. Anyway, we are currently finishing Chapter 2. I look forward to Chapter 3. Hang in there ! And thanks for your hard work :D
I strongly recommend switching from Hard References to Soft References for the costume table. I believe mod developers will understand the situation and adapt to the game accordingly.
nice
I sure hope chapter 3 is not the games vlimax and only a plot twist of some sort i want the game to feel properly fleshedout and not rushed. If that takes 5, 6, 7, 8 chapters then it does. Patreon sub stays active! Also on the modding front. Change it, berore it becomes a bigger problem
>me learning UE5/C++ for fun and being thankful of having already learned of soft references before it was too late *sweating guy soaking forehead with cloth image here*
Wait, THE GAME ENDS?!?! 😭
You have a lot on the board to work on shifting to a soft load may put some work on the modders but allows you that time to focus on the game proper.
I would much rather the Dev team take their time and make an amazing game than rush it out and have alot of problems, it's worth the wait.. I can't remember if you mentioned it before but how many chapters are the devs planning for the complete game?
😵💫 Golly...sounds like complicated work, I guess I can only imagine the hard decision making that comes with problems making a Video game. Regardless I hope you guys are also staying healthy and taking care of yourselfs, As much as I want this chapter 3 out already I also want to be proud of it. Keep up the great work guys you got this.🙏🏽
No sabes las ansias que tengo que salga
