Weekly Dev Update - Dec 22, 2025
Me
I'm planning to dedicate the next two weeks to finalizing the script for Chapter 3 and polishing the storylines. As the final chapter of TKA, it needs to tie up all the loose ends, which feels like a lot to cover. Some plot points might even be shifted back to Chapter 2.
Naux
This week, Naux is designing the execution animations for zombies using pistols. This is a feature we've wanted to implement for a long time, and we're finally carving out time to complete this piece. We're still discussing the specifics and will begin by prototyping some simple animations to test the mechanic.
SHJIEJIE
Work begins this week on TKA's first DLC: the Cowgirl Outfit Pack. This marks a new venture for us as our first-ever DLC, and we're approaching it as a learning experience.
We plan to provide the DLC for free, via key code or other method, to all active supporters as a token of our gratitude for your continued support. Thank you.

A Unified Response Regarding the Story
First, the overall plot outline was finalized long ago. In the first half of this year, I completed all the rough drafts for the story.
Due to time constraints, Chapter 2 underwent some last-minute adjustments, which is why its narrative feels a bit fragmented. Now, as I'm fleshing out Chapter 3, I'm considering moving some elements back into Chapter 2 to achieve better balance. How exactly to do this is still under discussion.
We're not a big, well-funded studio that can create any grand spectacle, which gives them a lot of creative freedom. We, however, face many more constraints and have to consider a lot of practical limitations.
Our goal is to do our absolute best to bring the story of The Killing Antidote within the 7th Bio-Research Institute to a satisfying conclusion, while also leaving room for potential future installments.
As TKA is our first independent game on Steam, we've certainly been short on experience. We've made mistakes, taken detours, and spent more time than we might have wished. But the upside is, we've gained invaluable hands-on experience, earned enough to keep going, and—most importantly—have been supported by so many passionate players who have stuck with us. So, looking back, I believe all the effort has been worth it.

Theyve always said it wss only going to be three chapters. However i do agree on the DLCs to expand the universe. I think you guys got a really solid idea which could be polished a bit more. For example the weeping zombies are only found on first chapter And the robots...where did they all go? What about Jodis kind of zombie mode? Some areas of chapter 2 are missing like the elevators And the survivors we escorted? With that out of the way, keep up the good work this game feels like its picking up momentum. I think revisiting some old characters to do some polishing on empty areas would be beast.
❤️🔥
You know what would be interesting? To have flashbacks in chapter 3 of the story from chapter 2 that was missing, but they are in the place where the missing part needs to be completed, thus removing any loose ends that remain. Would that be a good suggestion?
Hello, if that's the last chapter, we would like to have DLCs for the Game. And if possible, The Killing Antidote 2, in the city or in a Lost and abandon Town where terrible things happen at nightfall. Jut a few Ideas and to be honest, we don't care about the price, as long as the New game and DLCs are as good as the first. We will buy the game no matter the cost.
Hey, it's me again. To be honest, I'd like there to be more chapters, because zombies with weapons would be kind of strange and out of the ordinary. But since it's your project, I'd appreciate it if there was another long chapter, for example, putting a place where we players have to find codes, and the zombies only appear after opening a certain door to make it harder to escape. Thanks for your attention, please don't stop the game.
Wait, that's it? One chapter left? And what about tweaking chapter 2, it needs a major revamp especially in the last third which feels blatantly unfinished. EDIT: I was also really hoping the final release of the game would have a prologue chapter or something that shows how Judy gets through the city to the office/air vent at the beginning of the game. As-is the start of the game is very jarring.
There are still swimming and diving scenes missing for Judy.
Final chapter? I'm confused. The game felt like it was just gaining some speed. If this is the end, then where are we going from here? Are you starting a new game? This feels like a major bomb to casually drop in a random update post.
It's not a bomb. It's been know for at least 1 year that main story is going to consist of 3 chapters.
Oh man, final chapter? Bummer, but still excited and maybe more chapters?
❤️❤️❤️
