God save Ireland
You need a pack a spare pair of pants warning for the girls if you're going to show Sean Bean as Sharpe 🥵
favourite bastard film club by far
Good to know that if this gets cancelled Gould has a career in gay porn as Horatio Hornblower. He’ll look like a plasterers radio
Had to light company march over to the desk for this one. That said, Hakeswill is an omission.
Im friends with Bernard on facebook and every year he wishes me happy birthday, it brightens my otherwise normal boring day, cause a birthday is just another day
"old man wanking in his study" brought to mind that Anthony Hopkins skit from... Was it Fist of Fun or was it TMWRNJ? Mark Gatiss voiceover.
Paul McGann is a criminally underrated actor, but similar to Bean (Sean, not Mr) he does tend to play one sort of character. Though had he done Sharpe it would probably have been one of the very very few times he acted in his native scouse accent. Sean wouldn't change his name to Blunt because he's a lifelong Sheffield United (Blades) fan and "Blunts" is a derogatory nickname given to them by several rival Yorkshire clubs
Pants have exploded.
How long has Blondie been behind Horatio?
Paul McGann is excellent in Withnail and I
Horatio really does look like how the Asterix comics depicted Britons.
He is too celtic looking for someone of his class, definetly one who is named Horatio Gould
When’s the full series review tier starting?
Grew up watching Sharpe in the 90's. What a time to be alive.
About 10 years ago my then 62 year old dad came to live with me for around 6 months whilst recuperating from a mobility reducing operation. By the end of week 1 he'd already managed to commandeer the television away from me (in my own home) Every day I would come home from work and try to have some sort of conversation with him, reluctant to look up from his paper. To shut me up mid sentence he would silently switch the TV on, already set to ITV, for Sean Bean's Sharpe to appear on screen. I hated it at first but after a few episodes I was hooked. He passed away last year and now I have the DVD box set, all of his Napoleonic history books and fond memories of a strange period of my late 20's.
We need more Sean Bean, can we get Bravo Two Zero and a review of the BBC production. That’s proper Dad stuff
Needs to be a Hornblower review now. Can Horatio deal with the sheer quantity of admin faced by a rising star in his majesty’s Royal Navy. It’s also warming to know that when kids are screaming, house a mess already, wife stressing about it all, a mid-30s dad can find peace and solace on a mid-Sunday morning on ITV4 with Richard Sharpe and his chosen men, is a shared experience across the country
Best episode yet. I consider myself a chosen man.
Back when officers were officers
Paul McGann, who was originally meant to be Sharpe, was also picked as the Eighth Doctor in the 1990’s Doctor Who telemovie. The intention was for the film to be a reboot of the show and a new series to be made but it was cancelled because it wasn’t a success in the US. Very close to being in 2 huge series’. Extremely unlucky.
Upon sighting the Patreon episode, I ordered my carer to hit play immediately. That's my style Sir!
Major Hogan leaves the worst for the last ... He says you throw your poo in the toilet from the shower.
Horatio I am sorry but you have never been more wrong
On first sighting the Sharpe exclusive I naturally gave the order to ejacualate, that's my style sir.
Gould, you have caused great offence, I shall have satisfaction...
2 stars is criminal
I left a like. That's my style, sir!
2 minutes in and Horatio is on thin ice
he doesn't redeem himself
Well, Sir, on first sighting the Film Club, I naturally gave the order to advance; that's my style, Sir
👊💦 ugh not even pressed play yet
F*ck me this is too much. I have covered my command center in Kleenex, told my mum to go fuck herself and opened my first pack of Wotsits Jumbo, let’s fucking goooOOOO
I used to love watching this with my dad in the late 90s. For context, his favourite film was “Under Siege”.
A gentleman and scholar
Maybe a bit more psychological and reflective is Hornblower ...or yes gayer
Now that's soldiering Fin
I’m a Mexican American from Texas I have no idea how I got here
