Update 24/03/2026
Hey folks,
I thought it was about time for an update.
It’s been a few weeks now since the release of Izzy – Chapter One, and good progress is being made on what comes next.
I’m currently aiming to release Chapter Two in early April — no promises on exact dates this time… I’ve learned that lesson 😄 I’ll also be making Chapter One publicly available around the same time.
I’ve included a sneak peek render with this post as well. It’s from one of the story routes and will appear in either Chapter Two or Three, depending on how things develop. It also features a small crossover between Izzy and the main Shaddolands story.
A quick note on Shaddolands
I’ve been asked quite a few times whether Shaddolands is a separate story, so just to clarify:
Yes — it is the main story arc, and it stands on its own.
At the moment, it’s on hold. The main reason for that is simply complexity. Compared to Izzy or WHID, Shaddolands is a much larger and more demanding project. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m still developing my skills with both DAZ and Ren’Py, and the level of coding and presentation I want for that story is something I’m still building towards.
So, in a way, these side stories are also part of that journey — they allow me to refine my workflow, improve lighting and rendering, and develop the coding techniques needed to bring Shaddolands to life properly.
I’ve always enjoyed crossover storytelling, especially in TV series, and that’s very much the approach here. These stories aren’t separate — they’re connected pieces of a wider world.
Shaddolands itself is still progressing in the background as I learn and improve. The plan is for it to follow a TV-style format, with each season running roughly 8–12 months.
I know some people prefer spin-offs to come after the main story — but personally, I like the idea of them acting as a lead-in. It’s the approach I enjoy, and the one I’ll be sticking with.
A quick real-life note…
Since last weekend, things have slowed down slightly after I had a bit of an accident — the pavement/sidewalk unexpectedly leapt up and introduced itself to my face. I blame overserving at my preferred watering hole 😄
I’m partially sighted in my left eye, and unfortunately I managed to knock my good eye, so things have been a bit tricky with swelling and limited vision. The good news is it’s healing quickly, so I should be back to full speed very soon.
(And just to be clear — it definitely wasn’t Veloria getting angry with me.)
That’s all for now.
As always, thank you for your continued support — it genuinely makes all of this possible. Assets, tools, and rendering costs all add up, and your support directly impacts how quickly I can produce new content.
Thank you again — you really are the best.
— Shaddo 🖤
