Map Progress Update: The REAL No Creek Farms
Hello No Creek fans! I hope this update finds you well. This post will be much less of a map progress update and more of what has been going on with the real-life farm that the map is made after.
Soybeans were planted on May 9th. The ground worked up well and it didn't take the JD 9460R and DB60 long to finish the job. Here are a couple pictures of the setup and a video of the proper way to plant the terraced field just north of the main farm on the map.
We got a little rain a few days after planting which had the beans just starting to push through the soil and then..........it happened. On Saturday, May 16th, we received almost 7" of rain within about 18 hours. You can see from the image below that most of the map would have received similar amounts. Our farm is located right at the mark that says 6.84".
As you can probably guess, No Creek rose rapidly and flooded all the bottom ground just like you may have experienced playing the map. All the crops in the bottom ground will need to be replanted for miles and miles along the creek. Here are a couple comparison pictures to show you how closely the map (and the flooding) resemble what it looks like in real life when this happens.
As she always is, Mother Nature, is completely unpredictable. All you can do is hope it will dry out soon so the replanting can begin. For now, it is back to work on the project with any free time I can carve out.

My family Farms in Trenton, Missouri. Just south of Modena. All bottom ground, 2200 Acres of it all contiguous . Safe to say it ALL got 7 inches of rain in that time period. Lord willing itll be a good rest of spring!! Cannot wait for the map!!

Awesome update!! Thank you very much taking the time to put this together. Slow going for us in Upstate NY as well. I’ll say an extra prayer for ya to get those seeds back in the ground!!

One of the coolest posts I’ve seen for a farm sim map. Love seeing the comparisons from the sim and the real farm. Really gives the user an appreciation for the amount of detail you put into this map to feel like you’re really there.
