An Answer

I lost a great friend in 2007 and wrote this song some time later to help deal with those feelings. I don't think the song is completely about him but I believe it was what I needed to do at that time to deal with some of my grief. As Sirius Black says to Harry, “The ones who love us never really leave us, you can always find them in here.”

I often forget how writing and composing music helps me cope with complex emotions and I need to remember that more these days when I feel overwhelmed.
