the PC vs console debate at the time of the game鈥檚 original release would have a lot of chatter about this review. HALO was one of the biggest names in gaming for years. Nostalgia blanket cast aside, not true today and a classic corporate cash milking.
'Quarter-Ton Protagonist' got me. 馃ぃ

That Clippy Cortana is really a work of art -- Maybe it's not too late for Microsoft to make that their latest AI assistant.
"That's a really great idea! You're a really special person who will do great things at some point! Would you like to make some tasty cookies?" <- Microsoft AI before you turn off the default "talk to me like I'm an easily upset toddler" mode
Does Yatz, know he's also describing Half Life when he's talking about the overall gameplay loop in Halo?
The first few minutes are SO accurate to how other FPS players viewed Halo players. I remember my Counter Strike player friends called Halo "easy mode" because the guns weren't realistic or something.
The weird thing about Campaign Evolved is that, I think, it totally misunderstands what people who played Halo actually played Halo for. We played the campaign once, went, "okay", and then we took our Xbox and television to a friends house and played deathmatch and CTF non-stop, with occasional breaks to go on Silent Cartographer to do warthog jumping. Both of those things have been removed in Campaign Evolved. So what's the point of this? I think it's just more proof that despite changing studios, Microsoft has no idea what it's doing with the Halo franchise.
I agree that they should have shaken up the corridors a bit more. Example: The Warthog escape at the end changed to make slightly more sense. It keeps more in scale of the ship and it's layout. Whereas the original was pretty much the Death Star trench for how straight it went. But, I agree with the original fans about the voice acting. My logic is the same as Yahtzee's in Silent Hill 2. I mentally replace the dialog with the original and they sound much more into it.
The tiny Tim Xbox and ending joke are rocketing up to some of my favorite jokes from you Yahtzee.
That toddler voice completely send me XD
