Hey all! We have a busy show for y'all tonight -- we'll chat about the pair of excellent new releases in Mina the Hollower and 007 First Light, break down the insane price increases on Valve's Steam Deck, and marvel at The Witcher III getting a new expansion 12 years later.
Hit us up with any questions/comments/concerns about any of the above. Or just let us know what game from 10+ years ago would you most like to see get a new expansion like TW3 did.
Cheers!

This is a two-fold question, but do you think seismic Hollywood franchises are becoming too much of a saving grace for the triple-A videogaming space? We've already witnessed the meteoric success of Spider-Man, Indiana Jones and 007: First Light being developed by top-tier studios-but is this somehow at the expense of or replacing new IP?
Can't play a new game until I figure out where that last undiscovered road on my map in Forza Horizon 6 is... It's driving me nuts!
What are the chances the increased prices we've seen for consoles and the Steam Deck will decrease in the future? Seems like any time there's a price increase due to "market conditions" on any goods nowadays end up being the new standard because there's no incentive to make things better for consumers.
I fear the comparison to Souls-like games that keeps popping up. Over the years, my reflexes ain't what they used to be and challenging games have lost their appeal. I bounced off of Hollow Knight right at the last boss and I fear Mina will end up the same way in the long run. Still excited to try when I get birthday money next week.
I can play the Mina the Hollower demo on PS5 but not the full game due to not having bought it yet
I would snark and say No Man's Sky but it's turning 10 years old this August and it has already gotten two big expansions this year in the form of Xeno Arena and The Swarm
A few episodes ago you discussed a Jason Schreier article talking about how Mina was make or break for Yacht club games. After playing it do you think it is strong enough to save their studio?
Hearing The Witcher 3 getting an expansion has me irrationally holding out hope that Bioshock 4 might make it out of development hell…
through the whole of Shovel Knight Treasure Trove with a girlfriend, and i've been excited for Mina the Hollower since Yacht Club first mentioned that they were working on something. Big thing left unanswered though. Do they have accessibility settings to reduce or eliminate flash? Because if they flash, I can't play them.
I'm just counting down the minutes until Mina is available.
Enslaved always deserved more
I am absolutely buying Mina tonight and going so hard on it. Looks fantastic and I just started playing ocarina of time on switch 2 so Zelda vibes be hitting
That would be difficult, given it comes out 5 hours later. Looking forward to it though.
With the Witcher news, maybe there’s hope for the LEGO Hobbit BotFA DLC to release 12 years later…
That would be crazy bonkers, in a good way
I've been looking forward to Mina the Hollower for ages and ages due to that Link's Awakening look in pics/trailers I'd seen, that anticipation is almost unbearable now that all the reviews have come out and been so positive about pretty much everything (and now I know that it's as much - or maybe more - a Souls-like as it is a Zelda-like)! Glad you're feeling positive too, looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts about it and can't wait to pick it up/play it myself tomorrow now!
I wish I could. Mina the Hollower isn't out yet though. Not until 9pm PDT for me.
Thoughts on Dungeons and Dragons becoming a subscription based live service, where everyone has to buy their own books?
Yo what!?!?
Marty! I need you to know that the song that plays when you race a giant mech on Forza is New Genesis by Ado, a song written for One Piece Film Red!! Don’t watch it until you watch Wano though
