Sync Guidelines
Our videos are edited in a watch-along format, which means you’ll need your own copy of the film or show to sync with us.
We will always count down 3… 2… 1… START — press play exactly when we say “Start” to stay in sync.
To follow copyright laws and give you the best viewing experience, our reactions must be paired with your own copy of the content. We take copyright very seriously, which is why we do not provide full uncut episodes or movies. Even if you see other creators doing it, that doesn’t make it legal — sharing full studio content crosses into a copyright gray area that we’re not willing to risk for our channel.
Here are some recommended ways to watch along with ease:
• React Sync (Recommended):
The easiest way to watch along is by using React Sync! Simply load our reaction, connect your streaming platform, and React Sync will help keep both videos aligned for a smoother, more immersive experience.
• Dual Monitor Setup:
If you’re on a PC, using two monitors allows you to keep the reaction and your show/movie visible side by side.

A quick, non-spoiler summary of details you might have missed 1. Taihou is the woman who told the ghost story in the previous episode. She had actually been dead for about a year prior to the events of that time. 2. Taihou's daughter was given in marriage to Shishou. 3. Here is an extra detail that was cut from the anime: The physician who took Taihou's daughter out of the Rear Palace is still alive in this village (the Fox Village). However, he suffers from amnesia and is completely deranged—a side effect of experimenting with the resurrection drug. The rest of the mysteries will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.
edit: removing this as maybe some of it wasnt completely confirmed yet
Correct. Albeit The first sentence you said is heavily implied based on color palettes and personalities, but not explicitly said yet, but no biggie. they're already an episode ahead before posting this so I think they made that assumption already before reading the comments section. As for your last sentence, sure, according to the concubine rumors and court ladies gossiping. (Which is gyokku's favorite hobby for a reason 🤣)
Alright, I'm typing answers as you ask questions, but this is mostly a recap of my other Taiho wall of text from the graveyard episode. You thumbs up'd that one, so I'm guessing you eventually saw it, maybe just a little too late before filming this reaction? :) But just in case, here's a recap for those who missed it: Several decades ago, a young Taiho had a daughter with someone connected to the rear palace. We don't know who the father was. People speculate it was a doctor because of the whole "doctors getting castrated" thing, but the show hasn't confirmed that. Her daughter was taken OUT of the rear palace while Taiho was trapped inside and never saw her again. Let's just call her Unknown Baby A. While stuck there, Taiho eventually served another concubine whose name wasn't given at the time, so I'll call her Concubine X. I'll leave it to you guys to figure out whether Concubine X is or isn't Shenmei based on your theories. I'm not confirming anything here even though I know you're 1-2 episodes ahead. :) WARNING/Nudge: Nothing below is a spoiler or new information from future content, but tread lightly if you want ZERO hints/reminders about things you've already seen. You asked us during the discussion to help clear up the confusion without spoiling anything, so this is a little "Previously on..." flashback to an older scene you might not be accounting for, to help jog your memory without explicitly saying anything. The thing confusing your family tree isn't really the "who", it's the "WHEN". Taiho having Unknown Baby A and Concubine X eventually being given to Shishou did NOT happen around the same time. There were YEARS between those events. And we know Concubine X eventually became Loulan's mother. I think Jinshi telling both stories almost in the same breath while rushing to find Maomao makes it easy to accidentally squish everything together in the timeline, but they gave you a hint to help untangle that confusion already. That hint is Empress Dowager Anshi's flashback, specifically the hairbrush scene. Anshi is VERY young there, and she's already talking about what happened to Taiho. Meanwhile, present-day Anshi has a 30+ year-old Emperor son. And remember, that's the same son Loumen delivered by cutting open Anshi's belly. Earlier, you were told that the Taiho rumored scandal was connected to why doctors entering the rear palace started being made eunuchs. Loumen obviously had to already be a eunuch to be there for Anshi's delivery, so think about where those events have to fall relative to each other on the timeline. :) I'm not going to connect the dots any further than that. Just use Anshi's age and these rear palace events as chronological reference points instead of looking at each relationship in a bubble. If you still end up going "ehhh... something doesn't quite add up", that's fine. You're not necessarily supposed to have every piece yet, and the show will give you your answers when the time comes: this is more of a "do you want to figure it out before the show tells you with known information so far" situation, which I know Meesh likes to do. --- EDIT 26:25: THERE YOU GO!! 😂 Now i wish I haven't already typed most of the above by the time you decided to rewatch the previous episodes. You basically got most of the relationships the show expects you to be thinking about for now. I can't confirm or deny ALL of them, but you've got enough of the baseline to move forward. Kudos, and don't worry, we're enjoying your theory crafting, don't shoot yourselves down.
PS: For this final batch, I'd treat it a little like Attack on Titan S3 Episodes 19-21. There's a LOT of names, generations and connections flying around, so it might help to rewatch relevant scenes before going too deep into a "Raw Theories" discussion. I'm glad you girls actually go back and correct assumptions when something doesn't fit. It makes the theory crafting way more fun to watch. :) The family tree gets a little Game of Thrones-y, so just remember: Who are they? What generation? Who did they interact with? And what important events did the show bother telling you about? Rule of thumb: animation and voice acting cost money. 😂 If the show spends time dwelling on or bringing something up that seems random, bookmark it. It might help unlock a puzzle you don't even know you're solving yet.
Technically the questions that you have that you were asking at the end of the episode will be better explained in the last 4 episodes. These next 4 episodes that you have coming up are ALOT so be prepared for note taking. I will also say as someone who is currently reading the light novels, that things from Season 1 & 2, will continue into Season 3. There is so many small details. Any and all of us will be better able to explain things once you are finished with Season 2.
Yeah, I'm trying to not say much but let's just say that similar to how Meesh and Dee were thankful that they were given a heads up to watch AoT season 3 episode 19-20 etc in a batch and multilpe times with the notebook, they probably would need to do a quick discussion and maybe do their patented rewatch before diving into the deep discussions ? or it probably would fit their format better if they just kept doing what they do now: wathc the episode, discussion with "too fresh to ponder" bias, which is fair, then rewathc the episode then any learnings that you picked up from the rewatch or patreon notes, can be added as part of the intro of next episode :) but ehh, the girls are doing a great job eitherway, and even if they missed something, they usually pick up on it 2 episdoes later, so it's all good. I just want them to have fun ! But it's safe to say that going into season 3, they should feel comfortable with their knowledge of seasons 1 and 2 , mostly the main Story A, but also the little random B-stories happening everywhere and serving as setup for future episodes and coincidences that converge :)
