I just realized now while watching this that one thing that I really love here in Moonshadow, which is also what I really like about Us, is that it is never really a "black and white" scenario. I love that each scene has all these layers that you can dissect, and most of the time you just notice when you rewatch it. Like the scene after Key performed the song with Chan and Chan imposes the no kissing rule, it's not just a simple "kissing is no longer allowed." When you really look into it, you can see the hurt in Key's face and the restraint in Chan's face, which is the perfect way to show how Key is in love with Chan and Chan is trying to protect herself from getting attached to Key.

Two things. The Atom from My Only Sunshine is a different Atom than the one from Broken of Love. Also, My Only Sunshine is not very good. It's made by the Love, Senior people with some of that cast. It has its moments, but personally, I would put it WAY down on the list of Thai GLs you want to watch.

they are not even together yet and they are already fighting for simba's custody

Hands down - one of the best MD reactions!!! I am so happy to feel that it's not just me - the whole GL industry is confused about relationship labels! Clearly what Key wants is FWB or at least FuBu only to seduce Chan into a real relationship. This should not be called "Sugar Baby" No one is spoiling, no one gets financial benefits... GMMTV should release a guideline to explain what these labels mean for their shows 🤣🤣🤣 Ahhhh Meesh... Kudos for keeping your cool after Dee's "lips" comment/joke. I definitely did not 🤣🤣🤣 As for the show... Bonnie's flirting, seduction methods are insane - like impossible to resist. It's such a treat to watch her advances. To be honest, I did not like the pace. It went into domesticity too fast with the cat and conversations. It would feel more believable for me if there was more sex-centric interactions in this episode - I do not mean too many sex scenes but just hints and provocative dialogs would go a long way for me to buy the story.

The series is waaaaaay far off from the novel...knowing P'Fon, which makes it more exciting and intruiging even if you have read the novel. In the novel, they didn't focus much on Jay and there was no such thing as no kissing rule except for the sugar baby trope they carried in the series.

Bro I swear in every show I've seen Film in so far, her character has had a dramatic ass entrance LMFAO 😭it's so funny to me like everything stops when she comes in. I so badly wanna know what Jay did to Chan and what is going on with Key's family.

I know right. I’m sure there were many of us spitting out drinks, food bits and asking “what did she say?” I love how Meesh just smiles, says nothing and keeps her cool. Dee you wild and crazy gal! You just call it like you feel it. 🤣

The whole no kissing thing better be short lived :) Because not seeing Emi and Bonnie kiss is just wrong. Though their chemistry goes beyond kissing, and this episode showed that. The little grabs and looks and subtle moments and its only Episode 2. This is exactly what a fan of EmiBonnie wants. Sometimes you watch a show and you feel the producers and writers dont really care about the audience but about "their vision". P.Fon and the production knows what their audience wants and is giving it to them quickly, not waiting until Episode 8. No slight to other slow paced GLs, but you can give your audience what they want in every episode, its a nice thing to do. 😀

I’m so curious about everyone’s backstory. Ik we just got glimpse of Key’s past in the beginning but I also want to see ChanJay’s past and even Jay and Sun’s history too cause Jay mentioned she always hated her so I wondered why. “She [Film] is just going to aura farm the whole show?!” Truer words have never been spoken cause damn Film 😭🔥 Chan was definitely stronger than Prim from Girl Rules when it comes with exes cause Prim folded faster than a chair and Chan stayed strong. I applauded her for that cause not giving into Film is an achievement itself 👍🏽

I still have questions…so many questions??? The sexual tension throughout this whole episode is 🤯. Key is such a flirt. She knows what she’s doing. I’m curious how many workshop sessions did it take for Bonnie to be so spot on. Is it a natural move for her? 😳🤔 The constant teasing and closeness and mingling of breath is hot, hot, hot. I’m hoping all the viewers are aware that the cat playing Simba seems to be a conduit ( I was going to say catalyst- but that seemed too corny😂) for Key and Chan. Just another GMMTV star. Hope he’s under contract. Interesting how Sun likes cats-Chan didn’t think she liked cats but now does. I’m sure Simba has a connecting story too. OMG - Film Film Film— every scene — she’s so stunning. No doubt Namtan will have something to say about the chemistry btwn Emi and Film. It’s spot on. Film and Bonnie are cute as friends. Emi and Bonnie are stepping beside the Freen/Becky level. As a result of the intrigue and mystery , this series is quickly becoming my favourite. The high bar they set in ep 1 was certainly matched in ep.2. Great directing, writing and acting.

This show is really confirming for me the HUGE crush i have had on Film ever since Girl Rules 😂She is absolutely fire. I know she's probably gonna be the antagonist, but I can't take my eyes off her tbh 😍❤️‍🔥🔥🔥🔥 TBH though, Chan is a CRAZY red flag??? Bitch just stole her gf's cat out of fucking nowhere? 💀 And refuses to give it back!? And supposedly she doesn't even like cats! But suddenly she has a deep abiding need to take this cat, OK totally normal. She's completely baffling to me; she also keeps hearing the most crazy shit from Key, like about getting the tattoo, asking her to kiss the tattoo, etc., but Chan is completely unfazed??? GIRL. Your sugar baby is unhinged, please investigate???? (Not that i don't want them to be together though. Their chemistry really is insane, i just want her to ask some questions 😭) I feel like there must be something pretty deep going with her to explain just how weird she is. But who knows? 😅

The way I see it, Key is using the whole “sugar baby” arrangement as a way to stay close to Chan—or at least find a way into her circle. Chan is so guarded; her heart is basically sealed shut. Even her friends don’t seem genuinely close to her, and although her twin sister keeps trying, you can see from the way Chan talks to her that she still keeps those walls up. So I think Key deliberately presented their relationship as something transactional, like a business arrangement, because that’s probably the only kind of situation Chan would even entertain. It gives Chan a reason to let Key into her life without having to acknowledge anything emotional. Because otherwise… genuinely, how was Key supposed to get Chan to even give her the time of day? 😂 Key really said, “If I can’t get through the front door, I’m creating a business proposal.” LOL.

The no kissing rule can’t help but remind me of one of the great movies (and a personal favorite) Pretty Women. In that movies, the “working girls” had a strict no kissing on the mouth rule as it was considered too intimate. When Vivian (Julia Roberts) broke that rule, it signaled that she was becoming emotionally involved.

S
S723 · August 20, 2026

I was legit just going to post this and read your comment. Yes. Very Pretty Woman. Now Key is not a prostitute but she is a sugar baby/kept woman. I think the point of kissing being too personal and an "addiction" like smoking like Jay said is why Chan is doing this. She doesnt want to get too pulled in to quickly by Key. Cant wait to see who breaks the rule, I am guessing it will be Chan. That moment will be epic. Can't wait.

S
Skinbruise · August 20, 2026

THAT WHOLE EP WAS JUST EDGING KEY AND US 😭 I’m fully convinced now that Emi Thasorn can generate chemistry with literally anyone but her chemistry with Bonnie is on a whole other level. They can make a scene feel THAT hot and intense without even kissing on the lips, because you can literally see how much they both want each other. I love how much of this episode is about Chan slowly losing the control she thinks she has. Even her saying that Key can only be hers basically confirms to me that she was jealous when she saw Key with another girl. 😭 At the same time, Key is slowly opening up a whole new world for Chan, and Chan is discovering things about herself she never really explored before. She just found out she likes cats and animals, and it makes me wonder what else Key is going to help her discover. Even the piano flashback made me wonder if maybe Key will eventually help her find her way back to that part of herself too. We still don’t even know if Chan still plays the piano. Maybe with Key’s help she’ll go back to it, especially since we see that photo of Chan at the piano and that flashback—it feels like something that’s still there, just buried, waiting to be brought back. THE ROOFTOP SCENE. I loved how subtle it was. When Key asks Chan to kiss her tattoo, Chan could have said no, but she doesn’t. She actually wants to do it, and then she kisses it a second time after the atmosphere shifts. That second kiss almost feels like an unconscious admission that she’s already falling for Key. Chan doesn’t have to do it, but she chooses to give Key what she can, almost like saying, “I can’t give you everything you want yet, but I still want to give you something.” Honestly, it would have been LESS intimate if they had actually kissed on the lips. This stupid no-kiss rule is killing me because Chan genuinely thinks they can do literally everything except kiss and somehow she won’t fall in love. After that first night, she KNOWS one actual kiss would completely destroy her. She’s already fighting for her life trying not to get addicted to Key like nicotine. And then the sniff kisses... IN WHAT WORLD ARE THOSE LESS INTIMATE THAN ACTUALLY KISSING?? If anything, they feel even more intimate because they’re trying not to cross that line while constantly finding other ways to be close. The way her entire face lights up when Key says that making her smile is her top priority?? Key already has this woman completely wrapped around her fingers. I also really noticed Sun watching them. I have a feeling she’s going to end up helping Key, or at least supporting her in helping Chan move on from Jay. That smile while watching her sister exchange those sniff kisses felt very telling. She’s seeing Chan genuinely happy, and I think she’s starting to realize how much good Key is doing for her. And finally, Meesh, because I KNOW you’re an OST lover: PREPARE THE PLAYLIST. 🎧 The flashback song should be Emi’s new song เพลงรักที่ยังไม่ลืม (Glitch), the one Bonnie sings with the guitar should be her personal song, and the rooftop song is Temporary or Overnight Forever, which we already heard in EmiBonnie Love Session. Then there’s Red Kiss by EmiBonnie, which was in the trailer and was released last week, plus apparently a fifth EmiBonnie song that we’ll hear later. The titles are in the end credits, so we can basically build the playlist as the series goes on.

Another good episode. I'm enjoying that they are slowly unraveling parts of the mystery but are not giving big obvious clues. Compliments to the writers for showing respect to viewers watching intelligence. Yes, Moonshadow and My Only Sunshine (MOS) are companion books. But the shows were made by different companies and so far they don't seem to match up as far as story telling. It's not a spoiler for me to say Sun and Chan's back story is completely different than in MOS (which was revealed in episode 1 of Moonshadow). I'm sure you'll see some comments about how problematic some viewers found MOS (and I kind of agree) I won't spoil it for anyone who will watch it. What I will say is the production value was pretty good (not amazing, but there is definitely worse out there) but the writing/story made the main characters difficult to like and root for. I didn't read the books but I've seen comments that MOS followed the novel pretty closely. And GMM does not have a tendency to do that it seems they take the novel and do an almost complete overhaul of the story and characters, only keeping the names and base premise of the book. All that to say, I don't think watching My Only Sunshine would give any great insight into the characters or backstory in Moonshadow.

I really like the beginning with the simba thing it hit home since I grew up with two moms myself. I call them Mommy and Mama, Im 25 and still do this lol. So I was surprised since some people do mommy (name) and mommy (name) so it was cool to see the mommy and mama get taken for names for once.

The actresses who played Rafa and Sun, have already split up. I believe they are looking for new partners. Sun did not know she had twin until later in series. It got wild. It's worth the watch on IQIYI.

S
S723 · August 20, 2026

Didn't know they already split up. To be honest, didn't love their chemistry. The show was ok. Problematic for sure. I guess kind of worth watching. Though it seems this series and that one dont really align except for the characters.

C
Capstan50g · August 20, 2026

In the flashback, I think the older woman holding Key is the Aunt Niam(?) who came to visit Key and ask her to come visit the stepmom. She has the same hairstyle, anyway. This show is a real puzzler. Can't wait to have them peel the layers back. I also can't wait to hear more about your mutual ownership, M&D! But seriously, I think there IS privilege between married people. Loved your reaction.

Gmmtv girls have so much chemistry I wish that the Thai industry wasn’t based on the fixed couples we could’ve had the chance to see so many different combinations that I’m sure would’ve been as great as the fixed ones

R
Ross · August 20, 2026

I don't know if I'm completely misreading the whole thing, but I understood the smoking comparison more as a toxic addiction you can't shake; at first it's exciting, then it becomes habit, not because it's boring but because you know it is something harmful to you, but you can't stop doing it. To me it speaks to Chan and Jay's relationship being bad for both of them, but not being able to move on. Chan imposes the no kissing rule with Key cause she's scared of getting addicted and getting hurt again (like you were saying, kissing is way too intimate for what Chan thinks she should have with Key)

My Only Sunshine's Atom is not Faye's partner Atom - another case of shared short named between Thai actresses.

N
Noe Gardo · August 20, 2026

EmiBonnie chemistry is absolute fire! Moonshadow! Its gonna be 10 episodes. I personally don't consider the situashionship is as transactual as Chan made it sound to be when she talked about the rules. Because the question of how they'll evolve from being sugar baby to relationship... its already happening, in my opinion, we see glimpses of Chan acting out of place, to begin with, she didnt stop Key's advances, then intimacy felt to real she got scared and she set the no kissing rule. She took her to the vet and cares for cat, she kissed her tattoo which could arguiably be considered even more intimate than a kiss. The wjole scene at the end where they are just so intimate which other, that scene speaks of care, intimacy, and maybe more. The scene where Key is completely exposing her soul through her lyrics and they are looking into each others eyes while she is singing is absolutely beautiful. You can see Chan had to shake out of the emotions it was making her feel for Key. The no kissing rule is... I think it comes from trauma from what Jay did to her, I think that because of the whole cigarrete comparison Jay uses as if kissing was exciting at first and then it was just an action they did. So I think it traumatized Chan so she fears kissing could doom whatever she knows is building between them. Because Chan is already doing things for Key that are showing she is starting to care, to feel for her.

L
Little B · August 26, 2026

100% agree! And there are so many micro expressions in these 2 EP that are telling of what Chan feels ... with Key, especially with the music at the balcony, Key was raw and honest with the lyrics. Their relationship has evolved in a healthy direction, esp the last scene when Key asked about the piano, after Chan apologized, she did answer honestly that it was from someone that hurt her. There is some communication happening between them, though not yet perfect as Key still does not know about Jay yet and Key still keeps her own trauma (of her past) to herself, which hoping that as Key's trauma reveal, that we will see Chan care for Key even more
