Lom would have beat the shit out of Fai if she was there LOL Remember Earth when Fai was berating Rose the first time they met, Lom covered her mouth while she was in the middle of talking and dragged her out of there. 😂😂😂 Nam and Din are too nice. Good thing the in-laws came in clutch!
Enemies with benefits is the English name, in thai the name is Lal doesn't like Wine. Like she's convincing herself she doesn't like Wine, so I believe the thai name of the show is much more accurate
That makes so much more sense. She even says it to her friend when he calls her out for switching to beer. Like she does not want anything that reminds her of it like Fai and the basil, LOL.
I have a very strong dislike towards the aunt and for me she’s on the same level as some other characters in different Thai gl series that I can’t mention because of spoilers. I had been looking forward to your input on the aunt scene. I get you had little to go on with the aunt but I wished you discussed more about her. This really isn’t a spoiler since it’s been obvious throughout the show, but the aunt is the main reason for why Fai treats Phrao the way she does. It doesn’t excuse the bullying in no shape or form, but - this is my opinion that has nothing to do with the show or book spoilers - I think this would explain the ferocity of her venomous actions towards Phrao as a way to prevent feelings forming towards her. It’s a buffer to keep her word to her aunt by using such methods to prevent her from falling for Phrao and getting close to her but unaware that it’s exactly what’s happening. You, ladies, are in for a treat with the island. It has a lot of great moments for the two. Thanks to you, ladies, I have been just as much anticipating the new episode of 4 Elements as I am with your reaction to the series. I am so excited for next week! In the book, Rose was yelling at Fai about her behavior and caused Fai to fear her and gain new respect for Din being married to someone so terrifying. Rose shredded Fai apart at the dinner and for good reason. She definitely played a huge part in Fai realizing and starting to behave towards Phrao differently.
OMG Engfa, was that level of swag REALLY necessary when saying Khaprao isn't cute but beautiful??? You're KILLING ME 🥵 Ngl i cried for Prao a couple of times in this episode. I really think they're moving into the romantic feelings too fast without Fai actually earning any redemption. She's lucky Prao is so forgiving, because i would never be able to see her in a positive light after all that.
The aunt gets worst, so don’t give her a chance. She’s 100% worst than Fai
I wish Lom had been there. I would have loved to see her reaction. I think Lom would be the most likely of the cousins to hit Fai over the head, like she needs. I can’t wait for all of them to be together again.
Fai is stuck, she is an adult so obviously she has made the current choice to be nasty to Phrao at times, but she got so messed up by her aunt, and her Dad overly protecting Phrao as a kid that Fai got stuck being a 9 year old for about 15 years.... Lada was right that the cousins, although they tell her she is a rascal, haven't really gotten on her being a jerk at times over the years. Lada and Rose have the outsider perspective so they see things clearer. Rose and Din were more upset at Fai this time than maybe at any other time, so I give their wives credit for pushing them to be pissed at Fai. Din and Nam married well. :) Damn, Charlotte as Lada is still my favorite. She can pull off the funny, the emotional and the pissed off so well. ....We are 3 episodes in. Next week we gotta have some real movement. Because this is 4 Elements we probably won't get a kiss or anything til Episode 6 or 7, and obviously won't get "I Love You's" until Episode 8, but I think we get the point that they have animosity. I have been a fan of the pacing so far, but Episode 4 needs to get Fai moving away from the anger even more. This episode was a small step, we need a bigger leap next week.
if i remember it right, red drinks are left out as offering to ghosts in Thai culture. So my interpretation was the creepy doll person was a memory from them spooked as kids and probably not a real person just an active scared imagination. 👻 I haven't really seen many comments defending Fai. At least not on here or discord, I don't do X/twitter (too many toxic comments for me to enjoy) so maybe thats why. The bickering behavior isn't really something I enjoy either. But I've definetly seen relationships like that in real life too. Fai's character does take it too far to the point where it is mean. I'm glad the cousins called her out for it. But I am giving her a litttle grace on it because how she was raised definetly left her emontionally stunted. It seems it's not just Kaphrao she's like this with, she constantly fights with her father and it seems like she doesn't really have other friends. The only people she seems to get along with are the cousins and her aunt. This girl has a major failure to communicate. Hopefully the island will work some magic in the next episode. Some alone time with no outside influences will do these kids some good.
On the enemies to lovers series let’s just hope we can add Cranium to the list at some point 😭😭
i couldn't remember if you ever mention it or not but is somewhere somehow on your list for GLs to react to???
I love Enemies With Benefits. I think there was just enough friction for a rom-com. The Fire is way too far the other way. I really think Phrao is way better off without Fai; I hope she escapes or hooks up with her friend Nod. Then Fai can stay with her aunt for the rest of her life; they deserve each other.
I wonder why you’re still watching when you hate the lead so much lol 😂…at the end of the day the story is about THEM and them ending up together regardless of how they get there…. Under every Fire reaction you comment the same sentiments about Fai (which you have every right to) but aren’t you tired of hate-watching at this point? Lol
This is a true enemies to lovers story, and I've seen most Thai GLs and this is probably the only one that has truly made them enemies who have actual hatred for each other (even though it's become obvious this episode that they've liked each other since they were kids). So, it makes sense why some viewers are so put off by it. I've seen enemies to lovers tropes where the characters are 20 times more awful to each other, so this feels like nothing but childish pranks and banter compared to those. We all know Fai isn't a bad person, so we just need her to wake up and try to do better. The aunt is extremely manipulative and possessive of Fai, and my theory is that it has to do with undiagnosed mental illness. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have kids of her own, and I think after her sister, Fai's mom, died, she took on the role of doting "mother". I don't think Fai has ever disliked Phrao but has been forcing herself to because of her aunt and because she wants to make her happy, even though being mean to Phrao and pushing her away is the last thing she wants to do. Even now, I think Fai being so terrible to Phrao is because she's just terrible at expressing herself in a healthy way, and doesn't actually believe any of the ridiculous crap she's spewing. She wants to be close to her, but always ruins any moment they have by being a dick instead of saying what she really wants to say. I like that we're getting flashbacks that show that Fai and Kaphrao were a lot closer as kids than we initially thought. Uncle Yod even mentioned wanting them to get close like they used to be as kids and Kaphrao not denying that they were once close was an interesting tidbit. Sure, young Fai was mean to her sometimes, but it feels more like the annoyed older one and the whiny younger one - "kids being kids" - dynamic. I wouldn't be surprised if that fish truck incident that almost killed Phrao as a kid was not as it seemed, and that Fai wasn't trying to prank her or send her away, and that it was a terrible misunderstanding. While none of this excuses the way Fai has treated Kaphrao now, I am curious to see her side of things. I'm glad the cousins and sister-in-laws were able to get somewhat through to her, but I hope Kaphrao doesn't make it easy for Fai. I hope she makes her truly work for her heart to redeem herself. These are all my theories just based on the show itself and what we've seen so far. Also, side note: I get the feeling that Kaphrao and Fai love their banter with each other. Just like ShashaGorya loved bantering and playing games with each other, Fai and Kaphrao love teasing and messing with each other. It feels like their love language lol. I feel like even after they confess their feelings and get together, that part of their relationship won't change much, at least I hope it won't.
ep 3 was so fun to watch! not only because the cousins are there and we somewhat see Fai starting to show feelings towards Phrao, but I iked the episode coz some things are getting clearer and hopefully people get to somehow understand where Fai is coming from.. well we see bit by bit each episode why Fai is the way she is esp towards Phrao.. Here are what we know so far (based on the series, without spoiling anything from the novel).. Fai lost her Mom at an early age and her Dad has not always been there for her while growing up because he's too busy growing his empire so Fai is left being raised by her controlling, manipulative Aunt who spoiled her, gave her everything she wants & for Fai, the only one who's shown her love in her life, who also brainwashes Fai against her father & against Phrao since Fai was a kid. So eventually, Fai only listens, believes, and gives in to what her Aunt says coz for Fai, her Aunt is the only person who truly loves her & has always been there for her since childhood (and her cousins, of course. but her cousins live in other parts of the country). Since episode 2 though, we've seen Fai gradually defies her Aunt because of Phrao like when Phrao accidentally punched her but lied to her Aunt coz she knows Phrao will get in trouble if she told on her. Then in this ep (ep3), we've seen more flashbacks when they were kids showing Fai actually cared for Phrao by defending and protecting her, but somehow in doing so she gets in trouble with her Dad like we've seen in Ep2 where Fai got scolded by her father thinking she picked on Phrao but we've seen in Ep 3 that the reason why Phrao was crying coz she was so scared of that weird scary guy in the woods. Imagine being a kid that young craving for your father's affection then this kid suddenly show up in your life and you see your father giving that affection that you wanted to that stranger, and then doing good things for that stranger but end up getting in trouble because of her. Resenting that person is somehow understandable. How she deals with that resentment though, I don't agree with. I understand why she's doing what she's doing but I don't agree on how she deals with it. We also see in Ep3 that Phrao looks up and admires Fai since they were kids. She taught herself to be strong not just because she wants to be able to handle Fai, but I think she also did it so she can show Fai that she's no longer weak, and can take care of herself so Fai can finally like having her around. In ep2 young Phrao expressed that maybe the reason why Fai doesn't like her is coz she's weak. But we see glimpses of that Phrao that admires Fai whenever some things reminds her of that young Fai who protects and defends her in the present Fai, which is kinda cute. ☺️ As for the Aunt, well... I just hope in the series, they make the Aunt's backstory more acceptable coz I just didn't buy the novel's version of the Aunt's backstory to why she is how she is.
This episode was a nice one the fire is firering 🔥🔥
Something seemingly small and unique about the Fire series is that they show the dynamic between one of the Watinwanich sisters and her sister(s)-in-law. I haven’t read the books, but I like that you can get a sense of how close Fai is to boss Rose and even Lada (also somewhat inferred in Air ep 6). In a way, the sisters-in-law are able to talk some sense into Fai when she may not take her own siblings seriously.
Fai, Fai, Fai — she’s s l o w l y coming round. But good grief move on. She’s still making it difficult to like her. I’m hanging on to the fact that she has good connections with her cousins and other people …waiting for a more sincere shift. For me , the Aunt is manipulative, possessive and mean. She creeps me out. I’m not a fan. I wished we had some sort of introduction/transition to the whole doll collector thing. Something to do with a mythical story? That sure blew by me. I just thought it was some strange goof who liked dolls and chased kids. Well that whole scenario just has a big wrong written all over it. I do like the new introduction of baby gangsta’s . Little Fai really did give that young fella a good solid push. I agree with Meesh- the crew was probably freaking out about broken bones 😳. Next week we’re half way through and I’m hoping a closer , kinder, gentler Fai appears. There hasn’t been any outside problems that bring the 2 main characters together. The conflict in this series is between them. Maybe something will happen where they’ll have to work together and not be at cross purposes.
why can't I play the reaction
Nevermind
Fai is smitten and Phrao has had feelings for a long time she just doesn't know how to take Fai seriously bc Fai has been mean to her forever
This week, Fai got feelings for Kaphrao, and apparently she had them for a long time as the younger Fai also cared for her. Now, she only needs to admit it to herself and stop acting this crappy towards her, as her cousins and in-laws rightfully pointed out – and she has a rival for her affections in Nod. They rather seem like friends rather that girlfriends, but that’s a hell lot more that Fai can claim. As we are getting close to the midpoint, I want them to act like friends for a change, not like little fireballs always close to exploding. Then, they can deal with Panee and Akanee next. In the novel, Lom and Blew were also present in Hua Hin, but I suspect that Freen and Becky had other appointments, and especially Becky was still dealing with her old company “Idol Factory” back when this was filming. I loved Lada and Rose scolding Fai for her intolerable behavior, but grow tired of Fai acting like a bully who teases and hurts someone else because she can’t deal with her own feelings for her – this better stops soon.
The dolls creature is probably a Kuman Thong. There is a less evil-looking one in the Runaway GL series and there have also been mentions of them that's a significant character in some Yuri romance books.
Let's go 😁
Here we go
Let’s goo!!!!!!!😝
