Dee mixing up Concubine Ah-Duo with Jinshi in the cold open and then "does she remind me of someone?WHO!"... is HILARIOUS. Considering she accidentally went through the same mindset that maomao did lol.. Dee, never change :D Meesh, when you said last episode that you dont need the notebook, i was laughing and saying "Famous last words". Because you were just in the prologue earlier, the warm up of the lore drops ;) Dee is right. There's RUMORS that there's a new concubine that might show, to take one of the 4 high concubine seats. And sincen Ah-Duo is the oldest, she's hte most likely to get "recycled" for the lack of better wording. So Maomao addressed it earlier: she said that "what if ANOTHER concubine, like lishu, was eliminated before ah-duo is replaced, then there would be an empty seat for the new concubine and Ah-Duo can keep her seat". Now whether that's what's happening or not, we don't know yet. And like MaoMao said: "Sensei Dr Loumen (the old non-chalant guy) would disapprove of me making theories based on conjectures without proof." And speaking Loumen, yes, that explains why he said a few episodes ago to maomao "the rear palace huh? what a twist of fate" because he has a story in that rear palance from 16-17 years ago, when both the current emperor's child and the former emperor's child were being delivered around the same time, and he was the eunuch doctor involved in that recorded history.
Gyouku is one of my favorite characters for now... Ask again in S2 lol I would suggest writing down the reported history of the events that maomao was reading at the end, if it confused you. Foster sibling is just a way to say "she got adopted into the family" which is something asian cultures especially in china and japan, they'd adopt someone like a son in law or sister in nlaw into the family, and considered part of the family even from different blood so that they can inherit their titles. etc Think of it similar to Mikasa and Eren. Mikasa was kinda a foster siblings adopted to the family of Eren, but they by no means looked at eachother like siblings, it's just the situationship that they were in)
