Hi guys, this is my first time commenting, I really like your reaction to this show a lot. Allow me to post just a little correction or probably a long one based on what I read in the novel. Princess Im (Chao Fa)hold a much more higher ranking than the Sawetawarit Family(Anil's father is Pra Ong Chao as mention on the 1st ep.), they might be in close relation family but not too direct. She is the daughter of the Crowned King and a Royal concubine but not the Queen Consort, hence only Princesses from other family who volunteered to work in the Main/Grand Palace are allowed to work at the Central palace where Princess Im live. Princess Padmika is one of those young woman, a Princess from Kasidit Family who is also the adopted daughter of the Sawetawarit family, (Princess Padmika is the same ranking as Princess Anil by right and by blood (Mom Chao) Lady Pin on the other hand is the daughter of Princess Padmika's biological brother who is also a Prince of Kasidit Family(Mom chao), technically if i got it correctly Lady Pin is not the lowest rank (Mom Rajowangse) but it is a title given post royal (father should be a Mom Chao). Lady Uangfa is same rank as Lady Pin but have closer family relation to Anil's as both their mothers are biological sister, Miss Aon and her sister is the daughter of Thai Ambassador but they don't hold a royal ranking but Lady Pin considered them in high position because Miss Orn is engaged to Anil's brother. If we will based it by blood ranking Lady Pin is much higher than Miss Aon) As Princess Im have lung diseased since she was young and Princess Padmika took care of her for seven years. She wrote a comforting goodbye letter to Princess Padmika saying that she knows her body is weak and its fortunate that she only live a short time but its unfortunate that they did not get to spend a long time as much as she ever wanted. She told her to live her life life strongly not only for herself but also for Princess Im, she also mention that she can do what ever she wants with the letter with her permission, as for the ring she mention that if Princess Padmika feels the same as what she feels for her she can wear the ring on her finger if not she can put it on the velvet box where it used to be (she keeps it and also wore it). After the death of Princess Im she went back to Sawetawarit, Princess Padmika even mention to Anil's father that she might have to be imprisoned by a certain feeling for the rest of her life which the King did not understand. The Bua Palace is a gift build by Anil's father the king to Princess Padmika it was built resembling Princess Im's Central Palace because he feels that Princess Padmika have change and she wants to see her sister smile, you may say that Princess Padmika and the King relationship is likely like Anil and her eldest brother. Sorry for taking a big space in this comment section hopefully you will be able to read this. Also I really love how genuinely you are reacting to this series, this is what most of us felt during this was airing and I was waiting for both of you finding out about Princess Patt past since Dee mention what if she also like girls =). And you might got a reaction in X from Ms. Charm if she finds out your swoon over her 5555. I can't wait to see the next reaction videos! take care!

Thank you for sharing the details. It feels like the filmmakers did a good job with episode one when they introduced each family members - it seemed force in the beginning but clearly, it was necessary and because of the complexity, there was no other way to do it. Based on what I hear and what you explained, it only makes sense to pay a high regard to TLP in terms of intricate storytelling and character depths compared to other GL novels which made to screens. I've read a few (although poor translated ones) and none of them matched the level of TLP's wholesomeness - and I did not even read the novel yet (I am super tempted to) Having said that, I loved how and when Aunt Patt's story was revealed - IMO, it was simply perfection: not too long, not too short... It did not have any details but just enough for us to absorb the seriousness and pureness. I am glad it was not skipped and I wish it had been a part of the actual novel in the natural order of events, not added after the AninPin story is wrapped up.

Really love your take on these characters. You get them! It's really fun watching you react. I had forgotten just how much happens in this ep, and what a rollercoaster it is emotionally!! Aunt Patthamika's backstory... I remember being at the edge of my seat, not believing my eyes either -"is this going where I think it's going?" - absolutely riveted, like you were. Did not see that coming at all. The score used for those scenes should have clued me in, I realize now.

It's funny how we are now in Episode 10, but both of you still go "dayyyym" whenever Aunt Patt appears on screen 😆. It'd be fun if you make a compilation of your Aunt Patt reactions and tag her on X. But it'd probably be 10mins long with how much you swoon over her everytime 😅

j
jacy · February 10, 2026

Here's some small details in The Loyal Pin: blue represents Anil while pink represents Pin. Notice how they always wear they own colors? Anil wear blue dress while Pin wears pink dress most of the time. Even the color of the paper that they use to write to each other are pink and blue as welll 😉 Also, I love the writing style details of both of them. Anil's writing is in italic and more bold while Pin's writing is round and conservative. It actually suits their characteristics in this series 💖 And if you notice, sometimes there's some transition scenes with a blue windmill. That windmill actually represents Anil. You can take a guess which things/elements represents Pin haha

J
Joan21 · February 10, 2026

Aunt Patt’s lover is Anil’s aunt/her dad’s sister. She has been ill since childhood, and she was brought into the castle to look after her. She had spent so much time in the castle while looking out for her that their mom started seeing her as a daughter and anil’s dad started treating her as a sister

P

I remember them saying in EP 2-3 that "the greatest plot twist will be that the aunt is gay"... And I was like... "BETTT"🤣😭🤌 I was waiting for them to find out😭🙌 P.S. The aunt's story was sooo sad!!!

J
James Seo · February 10, 2026

now that i think about it, Aon basically pulled a Kae. haha. in that both characters are super salty about not being choses by the person they have feelings for. (Kae being super salty about Bell choosing Claire and Aon being super salty about Anin choosing Pin) but we shall see if Aon goes as far as Kae.

Love your outro and insights - because many viewers often forget the period, the culture and the royalty traditions of the characters that shapes their actions - like Aunty Patt and Khun Pin always reminded us that they should repay the gratitude of living under the royal households, and to serve and not do anything that will bring shame or inconvenience to the household. As for Princess Anil, she is definitely born privileged, and have been able to do what she wants since the beginning and get away with it. However this character is still an enigma - she is definitely not the typical princess in the 50's. I do believe there are these people who really existed back then and thinks beyond their era - they are probably the forefront voices who were questioning about bringing equal gender rights to their generation. Imagine it took another 60-70 years for same-sex marriage to actually be legalized in Thailand.

B
Bee · February 10, 2026

I think everyone is portrait so well in the series especially considering their rank and the times they live in. I keep seeing comments about Kueakiat and how persistent he is chasing Pin and how unacceptable it is. I get confused, why? It's the 50s where (in -I believe- every culture) women are married off based on their parents' decisions, not by choice. Men picked their interests and put the process in motion involving parents and getting consent from the lady's parents - not from the lady herself. Yes, Kueakiat is annoying AF but he is not behaving questionably for those times. He wants someone, he is favored by the woman's guardian, he knows the odds of winning the girl is in his favor... Why should he give up just because the girl is 'reluctant'? For those times, the only person he needs to win the heart of is Aunt Patt which he already knows he has it in his pocket. Don't hate me, I just align things in timelines and context - never do I agree with his behavior.

l
luisa cano · February 10, 2026

I think that scene between Anin and her brother broke most of us; we cried because of his sincerity and the love he has for his little sister, and I think deep down he knew it that she could be like this. He knows her very well, that's why he's always said she's very peculiar and different.

S
Sheepy · February 10, 2026

Prince Anan is definitely the G bro - best male character in any GL. He is the sweetest and the actor is Kanin Stanley. The confession scene definitely brought a tear to my eyes. Yes everyone was so good at keeping the secret of Princess Patt and Im - like Dee called it early on and we were all thinking - oh her gaydar is good. You did miss the beginning of Im and Patt story where it was mentioned that Im was sick and Patt was there to take care of her. It was short but very memorable. p'Charm and the actress playing Im (veteran actress and singer) were old friends, but its the first time they are portraying GL - Charm said she isn't opposed to playing GL roles. Dee realizing she like Aunties in GL. I think older women love is under-represented at the moment, but we will probably get more. And not Dee calling out all the single AUNTIES are definitely Lesbians - i feel targeted😭🤣 Another great episode. I love Anil always coming up with ideas to problems, Prik is always the comedic relieve, and sulky Pin is my favourite- her pouts are so adorable.

Btw, another trivia (not sure if anyone told you yet) The language they use in this series is not the modern Thai that's being used today in real life as well as in many of the Thai GLs you've seen. It's not ancient Thai but it's definitely an old, deep Thai (like in Tagalog, there's the more modern tagalog terms and there's the deep Tagalog that sounds very poetic, I might compare it to what you normally hear in old Filipino movies). Even the veteran/senior actors/cast in the series says the most difficult part in filming TLP is the language coz even them had a hard time saying & remembering the lines. So imagine Becky, being half Thai and at this point still isn't that fluent & confident speaking modern Thai then delivering & memorizing such long lines of old Thai.. 🤭☺️ Also, Chao Uengfah (the cousin) as you noticed speaks differently too (words & tone), coz she's speaking the Northern Thai dialect. They really put so much into this show to make it as authentic as they can. That's why even though there have been many GLs after this, it remains for me at least, the best GL series made so far. ☺️❤️

L
LittleFurnace · February 9, 2026

SOOOooo. Princess Im is (from what i gather) Anin's father's sister, which would make her Princess Pat's adopted sister. Sorta. Pat was never really a full member of that family, she was just raised with them. I'll be honest though, i would also have fallen in love with Princess Im the second i met her, so i'm not judging at all 😂 But, unlike Anin who is gloriously entitled in the best possible way, it never crossed Im or Patt's mind that they could ever actually attempt to be together intimately. They just resigned themselves to love each other and never be together. That's why Patt started crying when Im gave her the ring in my opinion. Im *was* sick by the way, they mentioned it when Princess Patt was first introduced to her but i think you guys were busy talking 😝. It was probably something long-term and wasting like tuberculosis or cancer, and may well have been why Patt was brought in to their family in the first place, to be Im's attendant. As Patt has noble blood, it was more acceptable for her to touch Im and see her in private moments than it would have been for a maid.

B
Bee · February 10, 2026

I think that was the beauty of this side story - that it remained pure and platonic yet powerful and it lingered for all Patt's life. I don't think I'd be hit this hard by this plot if they portrait a relationship or crumbs of it. But as is, just feelings and no actions or clear declarations, it felt simply perfect

R
RealityBites511 · February 9, 2026

You dont know how much I held back whenever you comment about Princess Pad being a lesbian too.. hihi.. 🤭😏 It's really hard not to spill stuff but we're trying so hard not to give out a lot coz it's really fun seeing your raw genuine reactions to such discoveries. It's about to end so you know things are about to unfold and I'm genuinely enjoying this ride with you guys even though I've rewatched this series multiple times and watched multiple creators reacting to it as well, but yours is truly my favorite so far..

k
kaegthegamer · February 9, 2026

Great reaction! I love that they added Princess Patt's backstory from the epilogue into the series. It really adds to Patt's motivations and reasons why she takes the paths she takes. Princess Im was sick and frail from birth and was never expected to live long. Patt and Im were the Anin and Pin that could have been. After Im passed away, it was revealed that she left instructions for Patt to not be forced to marry and Anin's dad or granddad (I don't remember which) agreed as a reward for Patt's service to Im. No one ever knew about their love but Princess Patt. When it comes to Patt's suspicions, I think that she's been mildly suspicious since since episode 6, but I think the roots of her suspicious have been there since episode 3. Pin was way too upset about Anin going abroad, but becaue they were younger, Patt probably just sloughed it off as exaggerated separation anxiety or something. Kueakiat is a effing snitch and he shoulda got stitches. I see Lady Aon as the other side of the coin to Pin, and Kueakiat is the other side of Anin. Aon is the Pin that's grown up more freely and getting her way all the time and hasn't really been told no. So when she is told no by Anin, like yall said, only to find that it's not no, just no with you had to be a big blow for her. Kueakiat is the male version of Anin whose the womanizer that's about getting what he wants regardless of consequences or the other person's feelings in the case of Pin. The difference is I don't see Kueakiat ever taking a hint, whereas I can see Aon relenting. I love Anan, the older brother. He is a real one. The Romeo and Juliet scene (what I call it) is my favorite scene in the series. So much is said with little to no words. Just their expressions.

F
Fanta Grapes · February 10, 2026

Hmmm, gotta disagree with you on that Kua vs Anil comparison. While both are charming individuals, and both are playing the high rank card to get what they want, but Anil doesn't force Pin or push her to reciprocate. She might be sneaky yes, but eventually when Pin rejected her when she confessed, she accepted it and was like, just forget it, I'm sorry for bothering you. While Kua has been repeatedly rejected by Pin but he just doesn't care about Pin's feelings at all.

R
RealityBites511 · February 9, 2026

Princess Pad knew from the start that Princess In is sick and weak. Their story was actually a special chapter in the book. Their story is already tragic in the series but it's more tragic in the novel.. In the novel, they both have feelings for each other but none of them knew of each others' feelings. Princess Pad is similar to present day her, she always know her place despite them being so close. Then Princess In died, some of her things were given to Princess Pad. Princess Pad found a letter written by Princess In confessing her love and everything. It was so sad and tragic.

Bee · February 9, 2026

Dear MD, if you read these comments, I have a humble request. For the final episode, can you please create a poll for voting the best TLP episode? As everyone (I assume) agrees, this is a very well balanced show where each episode carries necessary parts of the overall story without any filler moments. I am curious to know which episodes win the hearts of the fans. Not too sound too greedy but... I would not mind 3 polls where voters will vote for their first three fav episodes in order and for each poll, only one vote is allowed (radio buttons, not check boxes)

I cried the first time I watched this episode. Aunt Pat’s story is tragic. Been waiting for your reaction to that reveal! So happy no one spoiled it for you. Loved your analysis at the end, you have a great handle on the family dynamics regarding Anin, Pin and Aunt Pat. Anin has been able to get away with so much growing up because of her position. Aunt Pat, although a Princess herself, she feels indebted to the Royal family, and is always respectful, and she expects the same from Pin, and is how she raised Pin.

A
Alex !! · February 9, 2026

Just finished watching the reaction and this is one of my favourite episodes is because of two reasons; 1) I just love the sibling relationship between Anin and Anan. It's so beautiful and very moving. Having someone support you of your sexuality, especially from a family member feels so safe. Plus having your own brother accept you during the 1950s when gay/sapphic relationships was more frown upon is such a good step. "It's love, how can I stop it" is such a beautiful way of putting it and that romantic love between two women is just as wonderful as straight relationships. 2) The Aunt Patt storyline moved me and it was so emotional to watch. It makes a lot of sense on why she is the way that she is and I also felt like she has had a suspicion of Anin and Pin since the early episodes. Anin would always want Lady Pin around & she would always ask for Patt's permission. During the times of the 1950s Patt must feel a lot of internalised homophobia and that Patt and Pin isn't as much of royalty compared to Princess Anil and her family. It's so heart-breaking because the fact that Patt didn't remarry anyone after says a lot about her love for the woman who claimed her heart before passing away. Patt keeping the ring really symbolises her love for her. I was so waiting for this reaction to episode 10 because I also remember Dee in ep 2 I believe was saying along the lines of "maybe the aunt is gay too, that would be a crazy plot twist" well you got your wish hehe. I usually don't write too much but I just love this episode a lot!

Hearing your list all the kiss types and then “And then CPR kiss” for aunt patt’s love story felt too real knowing Princess Im was about to die, I was like they have no idea how real thats kinda gonna be soon! 😅😭 In the book, it was clear Princess Im was sick but the whole mini story about them was given in a special chapter at the end of the two books rather than during the story so I prefer it given at this point of the story!

Freen freaked out so much while reacting to this love scene.😆 Becky and her thought while filming that it would be a short and sweet scene, but in reality it was longer and way hotter than they thought. 🤣 They didn't knew about Princess Patt's past, Freen cried when she saw the woman died, and she say she understood Princess Patt more after that. Prince Anan being understanding was so emotional, you can see Anin mask crumbles : she is always the strong one in the relationship, never showing her worries or fear, but you can see knowing her brother is on her side and doesn't reject her is a real relief to her, but at the same time a reminder that this sweet bubble she lives in with Pin may explode when more people will learn the truth and not be okay with it.
