Attack on Titan (SPECIAL PART ONE) | Full Length Reaction

IT'S HEREEEE! 🥹
This first part of the special was pure peak!!! Heartbreak& Hype for an hour straight 🔥

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sync Guidelines

Our videos are edited in a watch-along format, which means you’ll need your own copy of the film or show to sync with us.

We will always count down 3… 2… 1… START — press play exactly when we say “Start” to stay in sync.

To follow copyright laws and give you the best viewing experience, our reactions must be paired with your own copy of the content. We take copyright very seriously, which is why we do not provide full uncut episodes or movies. Even if you see other creators doing it, that doesn’t make it legal — sharing full studio content crosses into a copyright gray area that we’re not willing to risk for our channel.

Here are some recommended ways to watch along with ease:

• Dual Monitor Setup:

If you’re on a PC, using two monitors allows you to keep the reaction and your show/movie visible side by side.

• Split-Screen Viewing:

Most devices — laptops, tablets, and even some phones — allow split-screen mode so you can watch both videos together.

Using these methods will help you stay perfectly in sync and get the smoothest, most immersive reaction experience. 😊

Eren wanted to do this. I know he's a slave to the future and stuff, but it's only because he wanted to do this. His speech to Ramzi talks about how disappointed he was when he saw the outside. That disappointment is what led to this.

i don’t know if it’s mentioned in the video, but once you finish the specials you should watch the post credit scene from the last attack!

I swear Aot is the gift that keeps on giving! Even after watching it, watching others experience it for the first time is so amazing. it's been such an honor to be along for ya'lls ride! An aot podcast/wrap-up is so wanted!!! My personal first time watch was only over 4 days while i was emo and it was mind-blowing it easily became my #1 anime and Hange has solidified their spot as my fav for quite awhile now. I was a messssssss over their death!!! Some questions I have for the wrap-up/pod are... 1) What Scene stuck with you the most or first comes to mind when you think of aot now that you have finished it! 2) What was your favorite ost/song of the series! 3) If you woke up in the world of aot do you think you could take down a titan? [I could never lol] 4) What would your "Ymir's letter" look like if you had to write one. 5) and lastly what's your biggest praise and gripe about aot if you have one!

I would recommend this playlist for the intro and outro reactions. Another react channel used this playlist and I feel like it has the best lyrics. The videos don’t have much views but compared to other translations I feel like they have the best lyrics. I’m not sure if the lyrics are accurate because I don’t speak Japanese but they seem pretty correct. Maybe have a mod review them and see if it’s legit or not. Especially for Akuma no Ko the lyrics from this playlist seem the best from others I have seen. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLToJmZsOQ5kH_sWQAaTxsfMWuB-N6Zmgd

Lmao our boy yeager emphatically told them that they're free to fight and kill him if they want the rumbling to end😭

C
Caramelatte · December 10, 2025

AOT podcast yes! Eren being a slave to freedom- I think you get it but to put it simply the way I understood it is “the future is set and Eren is bound to make the choices that he needs to make to get into that future” Which means if he makes a different choice it’ll lead to a different future which his present self cannot do because the future is decided. (Did he want to execute these choices? Maybe no at some point but he has to do it anyway to get to his goal) It’s one of those temporal paradox that time travel stories usually have, which is also the whole point of this anime and caused a never ending discussion about aot too (we are stuck in this loop as well Isayama planned this) Also, the different expressions of the rumbling titans symbolizes Eren’s emotions in what he is doing 😭

C
Cyber · December 10, 2025

i think i have a slightly different take on that, it's very close though: the future may be decided FOR THIS TIMELINE. Eren COULD ignore future eren's "forced recommendations", but that may send current eren down an unknown path with no answers in sight, and may lead to potentially a "worse" future than what he's seen, and maybe a future where he's not even in control anymore. Call it fear for his friends/family/race, call it stubborness, call it ego, call it pain, call it a pursuit of freedom, we don't know how many times eren has TRIED to "fact check" the timeline, to see if there's any options that can help solve the problem or if he's still on that same timeline, but in all scenarios, and in all mindsets of eren : he either has to be a slave to his future's whims, and cement that same future that he's seen, and pretty much brute force his way to that future, OR "if i risk it all, lose it all, outside the walls, live to die another day" , like the song, and if that happens, he may lose any chance or hope of course correcting back to THIS timeline's future, whether it's the best option in all timelines possibilities or not. let's not forget that eren's still a kid like all of them, and even astro physisists struggle with the concept of the timeline's paradoxial decisions.

Great reaction ladies. I really hoped you two didn't just stop there with this special. I'd go bananas wondering how the story continues. 😂 P.S. NVM it seems you two are probably already done with both specials. However on another note. When you two do your reactions to the intros and endings I would like to make a suggestion/request. For the second half of Season 4 the intro song titled the, "Rumbling" is used. The song's lyrics were written from Eren's perspective. However there is an accompanying song from the same band that created that song, SiM, that is written from Mikasa's perspective. I would love if you two would react to it but please use the official music video by SiM that I linked below because it's 100% better, it also includes lyrics, than the ending scene of the first Special Episode where it appears. "SiM - UNDER THE TREE (Full Length Ver.) Anime Special Ver." https://youtu.be/IPX-L2F78fU

You’re cooking with the Eren being a slave to his freedom, that’s exactly how I see it. His whole life is basically on one course and there’s nothing he can do to change it, the ultimate slave

C
Casual_Casval · December 10, 2025

Man, you guys really were cooking in the discussion portion with the "Eren is a slave to himself/ freedom part. I think both of you were right. Eren is a slave to his future self but also to his past. Because the founding titan lets him experience past present and future all at once his childish ideals of freedom meld with his future determination to wipe out the world. At the same time his present self can be witnessing all of these emotions and timey-whimey ideals clashing and see the horror in what comes from it and wish for it to all end. This leads to eren still going through with the rumbling, but still also doing it with the intention of him wanting them to stop him

C
Cyber · December 9, 2025

i responded to the whole "eren is a slave to himself" in last episode's discussion feedback @meesh/dee, all i will say here is that you both were cooking at the same time even though you both thought you were contradicting eachother. Both of you are right lmao 1 note to meesh 1:52:00 eren WOULD know that it stops because the attack titan inherits memores from its future inheritors, so the fact that he's not inheriting anything from his future inheritors means that either the rumbling stops, or everyone dies and there's no one left to inherit it, and that eitherway implies that there's no attack titan and founder after Eren. In fact, this might be the sole driving force of why Eren believes SO MUCH in his "future eren" plan because otherwise he would have inherited memories of another attack titan that comes after him. Which brings me back to a question i asked before: is eren always seeking freedom and fighting everyone because the attack titan has always been seekign freedom and unrelenting? OR has the attack titan throughout history been seeking freedom BECAUSE it's affected by eren's will being so strong as its final inheritor (and founder empowering) to WILL IT to be so throughout its entire existence to GET the attack titan into his own hands eventually by playing a 4D game of chess across time? :)

You said it was okay to share now! So here is my long-winded explanation of how I personally see Eren’s freedoms and motivations. I don’t think that Eren is necessarily a slave to his future self. His future self is sending him memories of the future, but present Eren still has the freedom of choice whether or not to do those actions. He ends up doing them because he WANTS to. Eren is still Eren no matter the timeline so his desires and motivations will always be the same. I don’t think that Eren is necessarily a slave to his future self, but rather a slave to his own values and ideals, aka his obsession with freedom. Eren’s true goal in AOT was to fulfill his personal vision of freedom: an empty world, free of humanity beyond the Walls. Ever since seeing Armin’s book in season 1, Eren dreamed of a vast, unexplored world – one that symbolized liberation from the confines of his life. When he discovered humanity did exist beyond the Walls (and that they were hostile) he became disillusioned. His ideal of freedom was shattered, replaced by a desire to wipe away everything that contradicted it in order to create a vast, unexplored world. This is why Eren breaks down to the kid Ramzi, admitting the Rumbling wasn’t just to protect Paradis, it was something he wanted. A partial Rumbling could’ve sufficed strategically, but a full-scale one served his deeper wish: to erase a world that disappointed him. Eren’s desire for freedom wasn’t about noble causes like saving his friends on Paradis or freeing Ymir – those were secondary. Eren’s motivations are like a layered onion, and at its core, the Rumbling was a selfish act to realize a childlike dream of absolute freedom. Like Reiner, who masked his selfish dream of becoming a hero behind a noble mission of “saving the world”, Eren hid behind causes like protecting his friends or defending Eldia. He even admits to being the same as Reiner. Both were driven by personal motives but used justifications to cope with guilt. In the end, Eren doesn’t claim to have a master plan. He openly tells Armin in the paths that he doesn’t know why he did it, only that he wanted to. This confession, paired with Grisha’s “You are free,” shows that Eren was always a slave to his nature, aka: his obsession with freedom, no matter the cost. His downfall wasn't fate, it was his inability to let go of that desire, even when it meant mass genocide. Despite his actions, Eren is a tragic figure. He loved Mikasa and his friends, but couldn’t prioritize them over his true dream of freedom.

Woaaah this was dark and deep haha, not sure If I agree with it but everything you said made sense and it all sounds logical. Maybe im just in denial cause I don't want this version of Eren 🙈 Really well explained nonetheless ! I do have some question about your theory though. Do you believe Eren saw his death in his future memories ? And if Eren did see it, why did he continue along with his plan ? If Eren's true goal was a world of completely freedom then is it still worth it if he isn't apart of that free world ?

Hange <3 Also I do not mean this in a mean way, I understand why you'd still want to believe in Eren after spending 3 seasons with him as the MC, but it was really funny going 10 minutes between Eren saying "No discussion, fight to the death" to "He doesn't know they're on the plane, he wouldn't kill his friends" lol
