A lot of people don't seem to notice Mula is also the first avatar animal guide like Appa ,Fang and Naga.

I love the intro to how the Avatar came to be, and how he was initially just this poor guy trying to survive. Also, if you didn't know "wan" in Chinese is 10,000 (yi wan). If you remember Wan Shi Tong (spirit owl from ATLA), that's the same "wan" - "He who knows 10,000 things" They really tie all of this stuff together :)

Steven Yeun (voice for Mark/Invincible and Avatar Wan here) is always a pleasure to hear. Love the art style and you can't tell me Disney's Aladdin wasn't some inspiration for the chase scene :)

It’s highly speculated (not sure if it’s been confirmed) that the spirit oasis Wan was at is the same spirit pool at the Northern Water Tribe. The landscape is very similar, besides the lack of snow (which, the southern spirit portal also didn’t have any snow 10,000 years ago), and the aye-aye spirit said the water had special healing properties.

I was totally thinking about the Spirit Oasis during this scene! I thought it might be too far-fetched.

So the Avatar Cycle began with fire. I remember reading somewhere that it’s estimated there have been between 180-200 avatars in the last 10,000 years. I think it involved counting the statues that can be seen at the Southern Air Temple. Mathematically speaking this tracks pretty well. Cycles of 4, starting with fire and currently on water: 183 (46th cycle): avg lifespan = 54.6 187 (47th cycle): avg lifespan = 53.5 191 (48th cycle): avg lifespan = 52.4 195 (49th cycle): avg lifespan = 51.3 199 (50th cycle): avg lifespan = 50.3 Regardless, Roku saying the avatar has mastered the elements a thousand times in a thousand lifetimes isn’t possible. It would mean that multiple avatars died before the age of 10, and we know Aang was the youngest airbending master ever at the age of 12. But there are multiple timelines from Book 1 of ATLA that don’t line up with later seasons. At least in this case we can just explain it as Roku being hyperbolic, because that line sounded way better than “200 times in 200 lifetimes.”

Kyoshi lived to be over 200 years old as well. Kuruk was the youngest to pass and then aang i think was the 2nd youngest at 66 when he passed but thats only because a lot of his spirit energy was used being frozen for 100 years.

It’s easy to remember the name of the first avatar. He was number Wan.
