I’m a farmer so listening this pesticide disaster is so hard…we dont use pesticides in our farm. Blanketing the food we grow in poison is not “feeding america”…. This is disgusting. The poor animals and humans effected by both of incidents 😔
Animals should never be made to suffer, they are innocent. This is a story of mass torture
I nearly fell apart listening to the Camp Lejeune episode (I suspect my father may have been a victim). But this? This was also one hell of a punch to the gut.
Thank you, ACC
Wow this was a hard episode, thank you for covering it.
MIDLAND MENTIONED
Too bad it's because of horrible shit
Stories like this is why you can't trust the justice system or "scientists". Sure, tell me how much toxic poison is ok in my food because it's within the limits you just made up the other day.
Ah yes. Another midwestern plight
Thanks ACC. This was a personal one for me. My mom lived in St. Louis when this happened. The world can never forget what was done to the people of Michigan.
What an episode...this is like United Fruit Company crossed with P&G...Even the company that came up with PFAS was like, nah, *we* won't make PBB 👀 Good thing we're not headed back to a time when scientific experts are dismissed and a judge with no expertise can make decisions based on "science" (or what big industry told them to say)... Well done, ACC.
My well recently tested positive for PFOA. As a Michigander, I'm sadly not surprised.
This was a first for me! Wow
Every time I cross the border into Michigan to buy weed I have to roll up my windows so an elected official doesn’t come running across the highway to shove rat poison in my mouth
I loved the music in this episode. Shout out to Firemaster 😎🤘🔥 This was one of the saddest episodes ever.
man, I think this one broke me. that fuckin judge. in the middle of all the obvious death and animal cruelty everywhere to be so spitefully like "no I think the farmer who spent years trying to bring this horror to everyone's attention is THE PROBLEM ACTUALLY" just. I hope wherever that judge is now he never sees sunshine. this country, man.
Welcome to capitalism
Excellent episode, as always. Thanks for all you do!
Humans are mammals, so anything that poisons animals or causes cancer in them will do the same with humans because our physiology, even on a molecular level, is not terribly different — it’s just a matter of amount of exposure. The fact that this toxin could affect future generations lies in the fact that this agent can get into germ cells (aka, sperm and egg cells), which are the only cells in mammal bodies that can give rise to new life. If those cells are heavily damaged by the poison, it will yield future generations of deformed offspring. If the germ cells are minimally affected, it will yield future generations of offspring that seem perfectly formed at birth but the noxious effects are nothing but a ticking time bomb waiting to manifest in the form of cancer or other intractable and deadly disease. This is true whether the offspring are mice, cows, or humans!
These are the episodes I hate the most — the ones where poor, sweet innocent animals are hurt.🥺😢😭
Thanks, ACC. This wasn't fun to learn, but I appreciate your work.
God that euthanasia section was a hard listen. This whole thing was bleak and awful. A brilliant episode, well done!
Oh god yeah…when they had to call them forward by name 😢
Science is dead in this nation. We need our SuperFund sites cleaned now. Our government is killing us through our food.
They stopped funding the super fund years ago. That's why work stopped. I can't remember who initially cut it, but both parties have failed to fund it since.
MASS SPECTROMETRY MENTIONED 🎉🥳🎉 The rest of this is depressing as shit
I wish I could like this twice
I was 8-10 yr old living in MI. I’m 58 now, experienced thyroid issues, 2 miscarriages, major heart issue, a few different cancers. It all kinda freaks me out to say the least.
It’s quite possible your issues are linked to this case. I’m so sorry. Make sure you vote for candidates that are pro-accountability and pro-regulation.
Oh good, another horrible farming episode.
Wow, this one was infuriating
Fire retardant in the food, lead in the water - what’s next on the bingo card, Michigan? Definitely not accountability. Fuck.
It's not even my birthday! 🎉
Happy New Swindled Ep Day to all who celebrate
SO EARLY TO ACC LETS GOOOO
