cuddle while watching tv
this mod adds a new romantic interaction: "cuddle while watching tv".
it becomes available when two sims are sitting close to each other and both of them are watching tv.
base game compatible
requires the xml injector
upd. aug. 31, 2026: slightly adjusted the animation so sims look at each other less often while watching tv.
by default, the animation depends on the actor's gender:
- if the actor is a female sim, she will be the one being cuddled.
- if the actor is a male sim, he will be the one doing the cuddling.
if you want to change this, use my other mod.
it works similarly to the in game "cuddle while watching movie" and "snuggle" interactions, with similar outcomes, autonomy and availability requirements.
the sims facial expressions will reflect the emotions they are feeling at that moment.
important issue: there is no real tv focus!
sims will not actually keep looking at the tv, so please place the tv in front of the sofa if you want the interaction to look more natural.
in the original "cuddle while watching movie" interaction, the tv focus is mostly done through head movement, and even there it doesn't always look perfect. but with a more complex pose like this, where sims are actually cuddling, i could not make it work in a way that looked good.
the interaction is available when sims are sitting close to each other on regular sofas or benches. sectional sofas are not supported. both sims should already be watching tv, either a tv channel or a movie.
you can find the interaction in the 'romance' category.
it lasts around 90–120 in-game minutes.

recommended mod: kayladot’s "invite to watch tv and movies". it can help you get both sims to watch tv together before using this interaction.
notes:
- i didn’t create a custom buff for this interaction, because sims already get plenty of buffs from watching tv and socializing while cuddling.
- at first, i wanted to make an override for "cuddle while watching movie", but it did not work well, so i made this as a separate interaction instead.

I need more cute and realistic interactions, like cuddling with cats, having a cat or dog on your lap while reading, watching tv and so on, maybe even sleeping with a cat? cause these are such basic and normal things to do with pets, and the Sims team left SO MUCH out is sad.

hiii, I've been using your mods for a while cause of how much i love the animation overrides. but I was thinking maybe you can add a sit and chat animation override for like when sims sit across from each other, like how you did with the eating override.

This is really, really cute! Good job as always! I just tried it for the first time. My female sim is in her 3rd trimester, though, which makes her look funny. Guess it's not really meant for pregnant Sims, but other than that, really cute!

yes, it works exactly the same way for same-gender couples as it does for opposite-gender couples, and you don’t need the other mod: - if the sim who starts the interaction is female, she will sit on the other sim’s lap. - if the sim who starts the interaction is male, he will pull the other sim onto his lap.

How does the animation work if it’s 2 sims of the same gender?

Hi! I was wondering about the animation change regarding the actor's gender, what happens if two female or two male sims cuddle each other? Will I have to use the choose animation style mod? I'm not sure if it would break the mod without it or not lol
