take a nap with infant
this mod allows your sim to take a nap while hugging the infant.
requires the xml injector
base game compatibleupd. feb. 25, 2025: small update for the new patch!
a new action, "take a nap with baby," is available in the "baby care" category.
to use this action, have a sofa or living chair nearby. when you click on the action, the sim will automatically go to the appropriate object to start the nap.
here’s what the full animation looks like:
please note, there may be a small clipping issue at the beginning and end of the animation.
male sims have the same animation, with a slight adjustment in leg position.
buffs:
if an infant has the "hates being carried" trait, they will not receive the buff. similarly, an adult sim with the "hates children" trait will not receive the buff.

Hi!! I love your mods and I would like to suggest (not sure if it's possible to do it) a mod where adults enter a pool with an infant or toddler, it's a bummer that they can't go inside the pool :D

this wont show up in my game, is it broken? It completely wont show up with beds or couches
it works! please check if you have the latest version of the xml injector. and the interaction should appear in the sim menu under “baby care” when you click on an infant

It doesn't need to be extracted since it is not a zip file. Just drag it into your mod folder. :)
I've have this mod in my game but it wont let me use it. its say it requires a bathtub. Is something conflicting with it?
could you please explain where exactly you see the message “bathtub is required”? do i understand correctly that the interaction appears in the game, but when you click on it, it doesn’t work?

For anyone having trouble: it doesn't seem to work on the modular sectional from Dream Home Decorator. I haven't tested everything, but it seems to work fine for every other living chair, sofa, & loveseat. Also be sure you're looking in the "Baby Care" menu.

Hi, I am sure this is a me issue and not the mod itself but I am trying to get the nap with infant mod to actually show me the gameplay option and it isn't and I don't know what I am doing wrong, any tips?
sorry to hear that! first, i’d recommend checking if you have the updated XML Injector file in your mods folder. second, try clearing your game cache (just delete the “localthumbcache” file from your “The Sims 4” folder). and lastly — make sure the interaction isn’t being blocked by the infant already sleeping or being in a crib, since it won’t show up in those cases. i really hope that helps! and i’m so sorry for the late reply 💛

Just a suggestion if we can have a nap with toddler or two infants that would be interesting but I love this mod.
tried to make it work for toddlers, but i couldn’t manage it. it worked for infants because i based it on the "give a nap" interaction. i hope to figure it out someday and make this interaction work for toddlers too, but as for napping with two infants – i honestly don’t believe i’ll ever be able to pull that off...

that’s so sad to hear! most of my mods rely on the xml injector mod, so please make sure the script file for it is in your mods folder. also, ensure that script mods are enabled in your game settings. you might also want to clear your game cache if you haven’t done so in a while – sometimes that helps fix issues for me

I have the mod but its not working for me and i have the update of xml
hi! do you have the growing together expansion pack? it’s required for the mod to work. also, the action appears at the same time as the "give a nap" option, so it won’t show up if the infant is already in a crib or a similar situation. could you check if the "give a nap" action is available? if it is, it’s strange that my action isn’t showing up. if it’s not, try picking up the infant or using a different adult sim to see if it works. let me know how it goes, and i’ll try to help further!

i accidentally send the last comment before i was finished, sorry i would also love to see a sim be able to feed an infant baby food whilst sat on a sofa or bench. i would love to see an infant and parent be able to take a nap in a parents bed or bond as in just lay there and interact with eachother, blow rasberries ect. and mostly i would love love love to have sims be able to build skills by reading skill books wilst holding a napping toddler or even by watching the tv! again these are just suggestions i thought i would throw out there, i love all your mods thank you so much for bettering the game for us :)

i have been wanting a mod like this for so long thank you so so much your incredibly talented! I have a few mod suggestions if thats okay i know not everything is possible but i hope some of these can give you some ideas for future mods :} i would love to see a mod were a sim pass an infant (who has the grab milestone) a bottle and the infant can feed themselves either wilst on the floor, in a crib or even in a high chair.
