01.05.2026 UPDATE: Fixed the bug when the breaks were applied to some adult sims with the full-time job.

It's a significant remake of the School Breaks mod that I previously released. Read about it here to understand how it works. In this post, I will focus on the major changes.

First, the good news: The interface hasn't modified, so it looks the same. The new mod also uses the same JSON file as the old mod. You don't have to change anything.

What's new?

I decided to release it as a new mod because it has undergone many technical changes and improvements.

Works with Any School Mods

In the past, I had to manually include custom school tracks to provide school breaks. Now, however, it's available for any custom school or after-school activity you choose.

University Breaks!

I'm so happy that I was able to give university students a break, too. That's why I changed the mod name, by the way.

It works the same way for school students.

Just to clarify, when the breaks are active, you can't see the timer for the next classes because there is no "holiday" or other reason strings to skip classes for university courses. Don't worry; it will be restored once the breaks are over.

Education Career Breaks!

At the request of some users, I extended the mod behavior on this career. Teachers should also have time to rest when their students aren't in school! Well, many teachers actually work during breaks, busy with endless paperwork. I feel sorry for them; it's such a tough job. But I think they deserve a break from it in the game, at least.

Technical Improvements

I significantly changed the algorithm to determine the start and end of breaks. Now, it applies to all appropriate Sims in the game at 1 AM. This means that even if you switch households before work, school, or university starts, the Sims in that household will have breaks (or not, depending on the settings).

CONFLICTS

It only conflicts with break-related mods because they all do the same thing. You can use it with the Education Overhaul by Adeepindigo; just don't use the school holidays module.

It supports any custom schools, degrees, and after-school activities.

There is a technical issue between this mod and No Food Sparkles by HelenTheHunter. The creator updated that mod so there will be no module path confusions.

There may be other mods with scripts containing incomplete import utils path. I don't know about them, but if you do 50/50 and find it, please write me. I'll include information in this post (and try to contact a creator, or you can make it yourself)
