Question for interested parties....

I realized I am putting a LOT on my editors with all the future works projects I am getting ready to post. Looking at the pile of 7+ chapters piling on my most reliable editor, I asked and she's overwhelmed. I don't want to put my volunteer editor through that.

So, honest question: You guys have frequently pointed out mistakes I made, even when my pieces are edited, and I've tried to fix them quickly.

My question is this: Would you guys feel bad if I posted them here after doing my best efforts to self-edit them? I'd be happy to fix anything you point out to me.

If you guys are cool with it coming to you as is, I could put it all up and have the second tier online by the end of the week. Otherwise, I'll have to find more editors I trust and work through that process, which could take weeks.

I am not an editor, but would be more that happy to help with minor corrections. I may have pointed a couple out in the past...or at least thought about it.

I appreciate all past help and future help.

It's always crazy to me. 44 people have voted and it looks like it is 43 to 1 in favor of me posting it with my best efforts. I will however have to wait for the poll to end, because while 44 people responding is pretty good... There are 132 of you, and if the 88 who haven't voted put their thumbs on the scale and shifted it, it could end up 89 to 44 in the opposite direction.

I don't care I edit them myself as I am reading. The corrections happen then and there in my head. And are quickly forgotten so will not be posted corrections. I forget them since I already fixed it as I am reading like I said . (Wait it's not possible for your writing to have to be edited more. Perfect as I read.)

I'm glad you are able to get through it. I try to do as much as I can to make everything as solid as possible when it goes up. I don't want my readers to have to work to read my stories.

I will send edits regardless. By the end I will have half the edits done, lol.

See, I figured people would find things whether or not I asked, and if you have my permission/blessing/request to send them to me, it would probably be cool with people. But I wanted to be sure before I inflicted it on people who would not like it.

Have you thought about using Grammarly?

I don't like AI getting involved in my work. Most of the times, if there is a tool like that and you use it, the AI company claims your stuff and throws it into the AI training pool. My work is my own, and I don't like AI ripping me off to try and replace me. I see a lot of problems with the way AI is being pushed, and companies are not listening to any objections. When they show up in court and their argument isn't "Okay, we know what we are doing is legal and ethical", but is instead "Okay, we know we're ripping people off, but because China is disregarding every law they don't like, we should be able to do it too, otherwise China will beat us in the AI Race" I have strong opinions. I think China is on track for something "Judgement Day"-esk, and so I look at the argument as "China is slitting its wrists horribly, so if you don't let us slit our wrists and throats, then China will beat us in the wrist-slitting competition." I want human eyes on human work, in the creative arts. I know artists who are struggling against AI, and one of my artist friends did a commission for another friend, the friend said they loved it, then threw it into an AI generator and generated ten images "like" it (my friend's art was better), without permission. If that story angers you, that's what Grammarly feels like for me and written works.
