Death Note - Episode 25
Speechless

The next few episodes are still entertaining but the show really was about light and L's dynamic. However it is worth sitting through the next few episodes for the ending because it's fantastic.
If you do find the time I would recommend to watch the episode again sometime. Knowing where it is heading I find the first half so beautiful and meaningful, seeing L accept what is to come, almost respecting the game Light has played thus far. Little side note, I think you would love Terror in Resonance, it is a less known anime but still has a massive following, impecable writing, different from anything you have brought this far and only 12 episodes long
This episode is just so visually and tonally stunning
The foot-drying scene is a reference to a bible verse where Jesus washes Judas' feet before he is betrayed by him
It's so tough to continue the show after a move like this. I feel as though L is the "heart of the show" more so than Light, so seeing him go really changes things. Luckily, I still felt that Death Note stuck the landing and I never thought of it as anything less than good, so I hope you'll still enjoy yourself plenty with the rest of the eps.
Man L was at such a disadvantage this whole show and he still was 13 days short from solving the case once for and all . He outsmarted light at every time you cant convince otherwise
Truly one of the greatest episode ever, also one the most bold decisions ever
I remember having the feeling that something was off the entire episode when I first watched it many years ago, but I couldn’t pin point exactly why. Now that I’m rewatching it, L had death flags everywhere.
IM SAT
The episode opens with an introspective flashback to L’s lonely childhood at Wammy’s House orphanage and the ringing of funeral-like church bells, establishing an eerie, melancholic tone. L implicitly senses that his time is running out ("we won't be together for much longer"). stands alone in a severe thunderstorm listening to the bells. When Light joins him, L asks a poignant, bitter question: "Tell me Light, from the moment you were born was there ever a time you've actually told the truth?" This confirms that L knows with 100% certainty that Light is Kira, yet remains paralyzed by a lack of tangible, admissible proof. Biblical / Judas Parallel: This mirrors the Last Supper where Jesus washed his disciples' feet including Judas. L’s action acts as a symbolic acknowledgment of defeat, a bittersweet sign of submission, or a quiet final gesture of atonement toward light who he was hunting.
"speechless' heheheehehe
'be careful, God is watching" ugh chilling. I would ask you go into the last 3rd open minded. The divide isn't due to poor writing but rather a loyalty to L.
We finally here
