#SIMDUMP | Atlas: Olympus Collection
Atlas was one of the gigantic Titans, son of Iapetus and Clymene, known for his incomparable physical strength and intellect. Unlike others of his kind, he was the military leader of the Titans during the Titanomachy, the epic war against the Olympian Gods led by Zeus.
After the defeat of the Titans, Zeus reserved a unique and rigorous punishment for Atlas. Instead of being banished to Tartarus like his brothers, he was condemned to stand at the western edge of the Earth, holding the celestial sphere upon his shoulders so that the heavens and earth would never touch. In popular culture, Atlas is often depicted carrying the terrestrial globe, symbolizing the weight of the world and infinite perseverance.
