Textures: The power of TWO!

Deciding on a proper texture size for your character can seem daunting…

…I mean, what makes for a “perfect size”?

While there is no “perfect size”, there are a few things to keep in mind!

It’s great to size textures in powers of 2.

TONS of older hardware is optimized for it, and it’s also easier to scale down!

You can also easily stitch different square textures together to make an atlas for multiple models and avoid wasting unused space.

It’s for these reasons that 256x, 512x, and 1024x are SUPER common texture resolutions, especially for low-poly!

All that really changes between these is the level of detail you want to achieve! c:
