So, the bar scene rework is finally done. Yeah, it took a bit longer than I'd hoped, but the result was worth it — everything looks much better now. And I wasn't just tunnel-visioning on that; I kept pushing the main story forward at the same time.

As for the story — overall it's going well, though a little slower than planned. To be honest, family problems and work knocked me off track pretty hard.

This year has been a genuinely tough one for me. I nearly lost someone close to me — my father — and it was really hard. For a long time I just couldn't get back to development at all; I didn't have it in me. I don't like talking about things like this, but I decided to share a little with you anyway, so you understand why there've been delays here and there.

Now for the good news. The plan for the current update is fully finished and mapped out. There'll be around 8–10 scenes in total, 2–3 of which are explicit. I deliberately added a bit more erotic content so the game doesn't feel drawn-out and dull. Story is great, of course, but let's not forget we're still in an ADULT visual novel, and breaking up the "grey" story stretches with content like this is simply necessary.

The music is fully written now too. On top of that, I found a neural network that generates sound effects — curtains opening, a door closing, an object falling, and so on. So there'll be noticeably more audio now, and it'll nicely round out the game's atmosphere.

I also want to talk about Kira specifically. A lot of people write that this character stirs up negative feelings for them. On one hand, I completely understand where that comes from. But on the other — as the writer, I know all the nuances and the reasons why she behaves the way she does. Give this character a chance. Right now Kira is probably the most deeply developed character in the whole game, which is exactly why revealing her as a person will be a fairly long and gradual process. Trust me, it's worth it.
