Apologies, I’ve been watching your reactions in increments and just realized I’ve posted multiple comments. 😅

If you think this show is good… I implore you to please watch the first season of Daredevil before watching Hawkeye. If you’re not convinced about how good this show is or if it matters or is necessary at all, just know that both fans and the actors behind the show fought so hard for this show to come back after being cancelled that the studio listened and made it so. And in its sequel series, Daredevil: Born Again, it currently just had its best season to date and is coming back for a third season. Culminating in 6 seasons total of our favorite horned head swashbuckler. If you’re not hooked by its second episode, I will gladly concede. That’s how sure I am. 🙂

When it comes to Daredevil, for now, I would say the first season is all you need to watch to know the characters before getting into Hawkeye. Then, before you get into Spider-Man: Brand New Day, that’s when you should watch Daredevil Season 2, and if it tickles your fancy enough, watch Punisher Season 1. Though honestly, DD Season 2 is enough to give you the lore of the Punisher for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. These shows are much darker, grittier, and violent in comparison to the rest of MCU as a whole, but it also tells much more human stories as a result. Okay, that’s my DD rant for the day. 😌

I’m glad you decided to watch these series. It does offer something different than all the other series. Unique perspectives and stories coming full circle like you mentioned. Can’t wait for you to watch Hawkeye, you are going to love Yelena even more. 😊

I get what they wanted to do but boy did it not land. And it makes me resent the characters for it.

I really love this show! It's kind of easy to overlook, but I really appreciate the way that they gave the story time to breathe and let the characters shine. Especially giving Sam and Bucky time to process their relationship with one another post-Steve. The scenes of them just... vibing are some of the best in the show. I do still hope you watch What If...? That is another one that is easy to dismiss, because none of the scenarios directly impact the main timeline, but they still have some amazing storytelling in them... and Chadwick Boseman's final performances, at least in a voice-acting capacity. At least the episodes are a lot shorter than the live-action shows XD

Great react! This is the second time I've seen this series, and both times, it bugged me that Bucky told the old man that he was the killer. All that did was destroy a friendship. I can't imagine that giving the old man closure. I mean, find, tell him you found out he was killed, perhaps, but... admitting that you did it, under duress, I feel like it only helps Bucky. Which I suppose was the purpose, but I also think some amends are best left internally or something.

They gave me and my unit a shot during Desert Storm and we had to hear a Col. read from a Top Secret document then they gave us a shot and then we had to be monitored for a few hours and it was never put on our record, one of our pilots was writing names on his wrist and he got caught and we never saw him again and he was a CW-4 rank, Scary what the military will do... oh no I never turned into a super soldier lol.

if you liked the Bucky-Sam banter relationship, it's a "buddy cop" genre staple. Lethal Weapon series, Point Break (Thor's codename starting the jet), and Hot Fuzz as a genre spoof. Hot Fuzz would not be out of place on an autumn watchlist if you want to meet the comedy style of Simon Pegg & Nick Frost. Bonus chaos points to follow it up with their first movie, Shaun of the Dead.

Given how many fans will come at the Punisher from the other side of his MCU appearance, it's perfectly valid to wait on that (as painful as that is to say). Just realize it's like seeing Tony in Avengers without having seen him drunk stumbling in Iron Man 1. Also, DareDevil season 2 before Punisher. Holy crap you're gonna love DD when you get to it.

Another fun series completed. So glad you will be doing Hawkeye. I thought it was really good. Do not worry if you never figure out who Val is…if you do not all will be revealed in time. Marvel rarely leaves people in the dark for long.

Yes, you’ve seen Valentina before. She was the woman who gave Yelena her mission in the after credits in the Black Widow movie.

You kind of nailed it on the head here. The point of this show (or one of) is showing what happens when a government (especially the US government) tries to MANUFACTURE a symbol like Captain America.

The holidays are getting close. I'm really looking forward to your Hawkeye reactions. It's one of my favorite marvel shows.
