eralia would be a great spider Gwen, she got the same quips too lol
Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, is 50% spider and 50% man genetically. Which gives him super strength, enhanced speed and reflexes, organic webbing, talons on his hands and feet that help him climb walls, can see in the dark, which makes daylight painful for him, and FANGS that can inject enemies with a paralyzing toxin. Also, his suit is a Día de Los Muertos costume and has a cape that enables him to glide because buildings in the future are WAY taller. Oh, and he’s not a vampire. That’s your comic trivia tidbit of the day. 😊
Been watching everything on YT but it's not enough... Not gonna miss out on full reactions from now on!
I can't wait for you (and all of us!) to see beyond the spider-verse in IMAX. Just getting absolutely blown away by the sound and visuals. I upgraded my entire home cinema after seeing this movie hahaha. The colour of the HDR is just soooooo much. Absolute trip. Love this series so much! Glad you did too! Cheers!
How do you always always manage to ask the right questions?!?! I swear at this point it feels like you’ve read the comics and you know where this is all going ❤️
I think the writers do a good job of teeing up those questions for the viewers. Plus she has hundreds or thousands of game theory experience logged, so she's seen her share of tropes, even if they weren't comic-specific.
The reaction I’ve been waiting for ❤️🙌🏼
Gonna say it even before seeing it, the third and Final spider verse film is gonna be the return of the king of the Spider-Man universe and with that, LFG! ❤️💙❤️🖤❤️ Side note: absolutely recommend the movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once" for you! Take care E! 🫡 "I love you!" 🤓🤣
I watched this at 2 AM last night…I haven’t seen this since it first released on Disney+ it was wonderful rewatching with you, I forgotten so much and all the references to the other past Spider-man movies! It’s awesome seeing you get the references right away…and your excitement mirrors my own! Thank you for such a great reaction! 🔥🔥🔥
That ending. Eralia, U gonna have to wait for the third movie like all of us peasants lol. 2027 can't come quick enough. This series really ties together all the spiderman movies and comics. And after watching Loki Season 1, and seeing the sacred timeline. Chefs kiss. Marvel did a great job with this Multiverse goobly-gook.
A couple of things: Donald Glover was in Homecoming, and that Spiderman "interrogated him" at the trunk of his car. In the cut scenes, he actually calls his nephew Miles to come get him, while he was still stuck to the trunk. And the Asian lady is Mrs Chen from Venom. This movie literally went Across the Spiderverse.
I know the way this ought to end, but I'm worried the writers don't.
Fun fact about the Lego Spidey scenes. Those parts were actually produced by a 14 year old youtuber who recreated the initial Across the Spider verse trailer all in lego. The directors saw it and got in touch with him to make those scenes for the movie
This ones special
Keeps getting better and better. There’s so much to the spider-verse this is just the beginning 😃
Beyond the Spider-Verse is meant to be out next year.
VRChat does have Spider-People - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUFOU38t_C4
I had forgotten this was how the movie ended. For some reason I had it in my head that 'Spot' was a red herring and we find out Miguel had killed his twin to take over his life and was the OG anomaly instead of Miles, but clearly that hasn't been revealed.
HAHAHAHA "You F** kidding me?? what?" Love it
The absolute awe on your face throughout this entire movie is the perfect reaction. If I had a nickel everytime Hailee Steinfeld was in a mind bending award winning animation series I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. (Arcane is a must watch)
This movie is a real gut punch. Loved spidergwen's world (and of course how they made each world visually different). I cry multiple times every time I watch it.
In the spiderman game you can suit up as most of the spider men in this show lol
Now you gotta watch Venom to get the reference with the Chinese lady
Spider-man 2099 isn't actually a vampire by the way. He's just genetically more spider than others so he has fangs that have venom
For a quick introduction to The Kingpin of crime (kingpin for short) you can watch the series "Hawkeye" which will come in very handy introducing you to a new character you will meet soon in the next Captain Marvel movie (in the end credits). I am happy to see you are embracing your ability to emphasize instead of fighting it. Trying to block that empathy seemed to be doing you a lot of harm and there is nothing wrong with you. People who cut off empathy are psychotic and have trouble interacting with the world and events around them. Yes sometimes you feel pain for others but that is a big part of life. You will find that by embracing instead of trying to block your empathy your mental health will be stronger and healthier and your physical health will follow. Also my female cat is a big fan of your singing she comes in and listens carefully when I play one of your covers.
I found jessica's character to be insufferable
Sorry for the cliff hanger, but it was so fun watching someone else enjoy this for the first time.
Next one should come out on 18 June 2027 (How can I wait, I have no idea).
I love this movie so much, would've loved to had heard more of your thoughts at the end but if anything you should watch some movie analysis about this movie, theyre really good and cover alot of different topics/themes this movie is touching on that you might not have grabbed onto like the concept of Canon events/the fandom/"Status quo" vs Miles Morales
just for clarification eralia gwens father quitting is not an anomaly because he quit naturally if his own free will without anyone else interpleading.
The legend continues! The greatest Spider-Man trilogy delayed by business politics… it’s a tragedy.. some say diabolical
Been loving the reactions! When you can you gotta watch the Fantastic Four movies from the 2000s, and definitely the X-Men movies, they're all great fun and I think you'd enjoy all of them :)
X-Men movies (at least some of them) would be good to bring into the mix as the rumor is Marvel is bringing them (mutants) into the MCU. Recommending: X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and then maybe two of the three standalone Wolverine movies: The Wolverine & Logan. If you do watch them, watch in release order.
I'm discovering the Spider-Verse movies with your reactions. I had never watched them.
Holy shit!!
The Score of this movie is from Daniel Pemberton. He is an actual music genius I could go on and on with the little detail they add onto the OST.
Imagine watching this in 2023 and still waiting for the next part
They really did us dirty with those supposed release dates for the third movie.
You're gonna love the X-men movies, and maybe even the Fantastic Four movies. X men leads to Deadpool 1 & 2, then watch F4 before Wolverine Deadpool. Thanks for all you do, and have a great weekend. 🫶✌️
Also... *whisper* (please consider House of Dynamite) 🏠🧨💥🙏🫡
Oh boy, here we go. The moment you've all been waiting for! I could nerd out and rave about this movie for HOURS. I've seen it at least 20 times already and every time there's something new that catches my eye and makes me love it even more. First thing. The art style and this applies to the first movie as well, but I'm so glad they went fully animated. It lets them play with perspective the way only a Spider can with zero regard for gravity, which I'm sure they tried, but couldn't really match in the live action versions. And the different styles of animation with full intent and purpose of design they teased in the first movie were on full display here, (tangent alert) especially the emotion driven watercolour world of Spider Gwen. I love how the background details melt away during the most impactful moments and you're just left with shapes and colours as the most basic tools to sell the moment. Hell, you could pause it at any point (and the rest of the movie, really) and it would be pure art worthy of a wallpaper/poster. Every frame a painting for real. But here's a concept that's been on my mind ever since I first watched this movie. How does all this vivid emotional landscape play into their reality or just day to day existence. If all your emotions are splattered all over your surroundings for everyone to see, what does that mean for everyone's emotional communication? Would a heightened perception decrease the way you portray your feelings otherwise through words and body language? How do you lie? How do you keep secrets? How much does it matter when you're in someone else's universe? Would you even know to adapt? I feel like this topic alone requires an evening in with some besties and good smoke. And then there's spot. Compared to the first movie with a much wider blend of styles, it feels like they toned it down a little for this one, only going for true differences where it matters. Like the moment spot attains full power and his art style turns into this sickly, chaotic, unfinished, ANGRY mess that like the character threatens to consume everything around it. Focused perfection. And then there's the music. 10/10, both source and score in how they meld together and stay apart as needed and they're just as much of a story-telling vehicle as the visuals and acting. There's no note or second of music that I would describe as background filler. Precision, focus, purpose. Hell, just the opening 20 minutes before the credits with its mix of source and score (also known as scorce) is good enough to win Awards left and right. I bet you could remove all the sound effects and voice acting from the audio track and it would still be as clear and impactful. The music is just so perfectly chosen AND mixed that it elevates the movie beyond almost anything else contemporary. It also shows exactly what a properly chosen song to match the setting or character does. I wouldn't necessarily put James Blake's Hummingbird or Metro Boomin's Annihilate into my personal playlist, but damn if they don't WORK in the moment. One thing I would also want to praise is the inclusivity of this movie series and this version of Spiderman. A prominent person of colour in the lead role without it being just another version of the same character (barring canon events, cause those are important, ya know), but also there's a scene with handicapped kids playing basketball and Gwen has a "protect trans kids" flag in her room. Kudos to the writers and animators for going above and beyond of what is expected of them. Standing up for the underrepresented and giving them a voice. And speaking of, the voice acting is top notch from everyone showing mastery at all levels from talent to recording to mastering and the writing is not afraid to fully embrace the cultural impact Marvel comics and the character of Spiderman has had on our society. You may think that some of these things are just standard fare in big Hollywood productions of current year, but I've been to several movies recently that have had huge problems with the sound mix. Unintelligible voices, music that just gets lost in the mix, no immersive sound scape. These things are hard to pull off correctly and you need real talent that's willing to put in the hard work to make it all fit. But does it all matter if there's no good story to tie it all together? I would say quite enjoyable for the most part. There were a few telegraphed and formulaic beats down to the plot twist at the end, but you can't really expect this format of cinema to deliver ground breaking stuff in that area. You still have to cater to your audience. I think in that respect it was perfectly adequate and I can't wait for Beyond to wrap things up neatly (if that's even possible). Although imagine a Spider-Man movie by Guillermo Del Toro or Denis Villeneuve. The plot twist in the end was quite easy to miss, however all the telltale signs are there if you keep an eye on them. If I had to pick a singular favourite moment, it would be the end scene in Peter B. and Mayday's room where the music just oh so perfectly transitions from Miles's theme to Gwen's rock band theme as she's out there starting a new band of her own to go after and help Miles and solidifies that this movie series isn't just about one spidey's story. It's also Gwen's and all the others'. Anyway, I think I've ruminated on this enough. Can you tell I really really like this movie? I'll probably see it a few more times before Beyond comes out and maybe notice and fall in love with another aspect of it that I had totally missed before. Just one more year of waiting, eh? What's up, danger?
The "emotions in display" isn't visible to others. Your emotions "color your world view" bah duhm tiss
Also please don’t skip Moon Knight. It’s one of the best marvel shows.
Let’s gooo eralia, first again. Another marvel watch along. Please do more music reactions as well. I would suggest again listening to The New Abnormal by The Strokes. I promise you will enjoy and love it. Love your videos ✨
