While in theme, but not necessarily directly addressing what you talk about in this vid, I feel the need to share one of my personally favorite aphorisms in hopes of potentially helping another in some minute way: "The first step in getting out of the hole is putting down the shovel" While borderline pretentiously simple, it held a place in my brain with fluctuating significance for years until I finally decided to stop being a child and actually implement all the things that I believed into my daily life. STORYTIME WITH PAUL: A few years back, in the span of 6 weeks, I crashed my motorcycle, my long-term girlfriend that I moved to a different state for broke up with me, and I was laid off because my position within the company was being dissolved. I said "fuck this place" (California) and moved across the country with absolutely no direction in my life whatsoever. In an instant I lost every aspect of what gives a man purpose. Romantically disenchanted, incapable of properly physically operating in this world, and lacking any means of being a provider for an individual I had no interest in providing for anyway, I easily and quickly leaned into old habits. This culminated into readdicting myself to nicotine with this horrifically accessible new age technology called vaping, smoking weed all day every day, drinking heavily, unhealthily consuming porn, isolating myself from family and friends, doing nothing but playing video games and watching movies (which is how I landed on this channel 🙃), and just all-around giving up on life. Paradoxically, my athletic background and buffered banked account that I grinded years and years for enabled this path of self destruction for far longer than it ever should have lasted. I kept telling myself "I'm not that unhealthy... for now" and "I still have money... for now." I was ultimately telling myself one thing on this path of self-destruction and concession. "If you're gonna do it, then just fucking do it" (Something I've struggled with since I was a teenager). I made plans and for some unknown reason I never (metaphorically 😉) pulled the trigger. The reason doesn't matter. The lesson learned is that I now know that will never be an option for me. Only those who have consciously lived a significant portion of their years under the basement understand how insurmountably huge this is. I feel like I went as deep as anyone could if they were to ever successfully make it back out. (This is not even remotely a flex - for the love of god... you do not want this) I didn't know where to start or what step to take next, but I remembered to put down the shovel. "Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn... to pick ourselves up." (Dear god woman get on that Batman train already) I'm a completely different man compared to who I was before everything fell apart. I thought I was who I wanted to be and had everything I could ever want, just to realize I was playing a childish game with myself the whole time. "Every man lives two lives. The second begins when he realizes he only has one." Well, there's the long version answer to the question you never asked... thanks for being my inadvertant journal entry page for the day... I guess 😬 I'll make my exit with some absurdly profound wisdom I came up with all on my own: Just keep moving. P.S. Why tf does my phone insist on autocorrecting the word "fuck" to "ruck" while simultaneously insisting on autocorrecting the word "vaping" to "raping"?????? P.P.S. No, YOU have severe ADHD brain! P.P.P.S. I usually delete these exhaustive rants (that are ultimately directed toward myself) within the hour after I post them, but I feel like I should leave this one...

So true, started running seriously 3 years ago and started following programs up until races and now 3 years later a bunch of my new habits have slowly crept into my everyday life. Also from being kind of heavy; not overweight but enough, I feel so proud in myself that I can now kind of go run a half marathon whenever I want! Still a long ways to go for the Marathon but I used to think that was impossible, now it's on the horizon! I also believe in you random person, you got this!!!!

If you want the true meaning of life the answer is 42.... Yes it sounds like a "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" joke and it is but it is also true. However if you understand that Douglas Adams was a computer geek and the answer to the riddle is clear. the number 42 in ASCII code is the asterisk which can mean pretty much anything you want and that is the real meaning of life.... It is what you want it to be.

Ok, and I have to ask, beg, plead, whatever works, that you react to A House of Dynamite. I know it's out of the blue kinda, unless you've already seen it or heard about it, but it's fascinating to think about, and the whole time I was watching I kept thinking about what you would think of this movie. I'm sure you, as always, will have a very unique take on it. I'm gonna be so bold as to guarantee a perching. 😁 Thanks again for all you do, taking the Marvel journey with you has been amazing. You're gonna love WandaVision. 🧙‍♀️🤖❤️💚🫶

Wow. That was absolutely incredible. You really have a talent for this. You'd make a great behavioral or occupational therapist, or motivational speaker. So much of what you said was spot on, and even the few little things I wanted to say, (I'm not a therapist) but I know that when you re-watch this video, you'll say those things in a much better way than I could. I hope you pursue this endeavor, as I truly believe you can help a lot of people. The last advice I got from my therapist was to 'do something temporary', I'm assuming just for the sake of enjoyment, and not over thinking it as is my want. However as a philosopher and natural born over thinker, I can't think of anything that humans do that's not temporary. I think she was playing me. But I applaud you, this is a lifetime path of learning, especially with the way humanity is constantly changing morally and spiritually. It's not like learning how to rebuild a carburetor and that's all you have to learn to do it. All the advice and metaphors were spot on, and 98% applied to me and my situation, but the one thing I stuck on was the 'path' metaphor. It works, because we all know what path is, for instance you're in the woods, there's gap, the ground is trodden, you can see it leads through the woods and up over the hill, but sometimes you're standing in the woods and it looks the same in every direction. I don't know if this is a keep looking for the path, or a make your own path situation. And that's just a thought. But as an amateur thinker, I try to '4D' stuff, and approach from all sides and think, rethink, and overthink everything, and what I do sometimes is go back and look at the assumptions I made in previous writings and thoughts, and back up one space to see how I got there. Another is thinking past thought blocks, and trying to retrace the path back from 'where I want to wind up' to this block, then try to figure out a way to remove it without feeling totally stopped. It allowes me to continue to think about things even though that thought path has blocks or gaps in it. Anyways, before I ramble too long, again, that was great. Thank you, and as always I wish you the best in all you do. 🫡👏🫶
