Crazy Little Thing Called Love is one of my favorite songs to do at karaoke. I forgot how much I loved Queen. Love, present tense, but I haven't listened to music as much in recent years. I have a ton of CD's in a box. I need to dig them out rip them to MP3 and put them on my computer. (Sorry, I shouldn't be planning out my hobbies in your comment section.) [Damn, got me choked up with your comment about "This is the world I signed up for..."]
Okay, one of your eralia shows needs* to be about the instruments you've played (at whatever skill level), because I'm curious. (I've only play four in my life [piano, saxophone, harmonica, and guitar [that last one BADLY], five if you count the kazoo =D, anyway, my dream is to like have free reign of a band room and just try everything. I've gotten to play drums, but am not a drummer. If I ever win the lottery, people will know because I will suddenly own a lot of instruments. I need to play music more often. (* - as in it would be cool but no pressure or anything, obvs.)
That Bassist was only 19 years old when they found him.
"he's British, that makes sense" what does that mean?
I know it's not something you'd react to but I'd recommend watching Queen live in Montreal. It was released as a movie and is on Disney+. It really shows Freddie and the band at their best.
I highly recommend you watch Bohemian Rhapsody movie, it's really really good movie about Queen... There were a lot a music stars at this concert but Queen stole the spotlight...
Most music is political, especially Rock & Rap
Eralia not sure if you know that the song "Radio Gaga" is what inspired Lady Gaga to get her stage name.
Movies about music besides Bohemian Rhapsody- Amadeus, Almost Famous, Ray, the Blues Brothers, What's Love Got To Do With It, Tick Tick Boom, Selena, La Bamba, Woodstock the Director's Cut, the Doors. That Thing You Do! is darling. Airheads is 90s funny. Musicals- Encanto, the Greatest Showman, Disney's the Jungle Book (cartoon please lord), Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) , Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Grease. Songs to react to- The Song of Orpheus from Sandman season 2, Hello (Swedish Cover), Always Look on the Bright Side of Life from the Life of Brian soundtrack. Please react to the aboriginal war cry vs haka rugby video
Bob Ross Remixed- Happy Little Clouds - PBS digital studios. Please please
I love the look on your face when you find something that surprises, amazes or just stuns you that smile makes you face light up with pure joy. This was a benefit concert for the Ethiopian famine to provide food and medicine to the affected people.... I wonder if you ever heard of these guys "The Traveling Wilburys? they were what is called a super group of some of the biggest names in rock at the time.... " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o4s1KVJaVA
Metallica for the first Music Review and now Queen! Oh Boy, picking some of the best for sure! Freddie Mercury was definitely One of a Kind!
This one becareful a bit whe uploading to youtube , they come quick for the copyright with queen
Love Queen! Now that you are doing music, I gotta recommend you check out a series of Linkin Park's performances and music videos for a reaction, especially if you wrap it up with "One More Light" official video. It's both wholesome and profoundly sad. Like hauntingly beautiful. Makes me cry every time. Their music is such special therapy for many of us who are hurting and speaks to the importance of mental health. RIP Chester
The "piano guy" was Spike Edney, he was kinda the inofficial fifth QUEEN member on tour. Whenever a piano or synthesizer was needed and Freddie wouldn't play himself to play with the audience instead, he filled in. But always on the edge of the stage, never in the spotlight - to let the audience concentrate on the band itself. If you look closely you can see him play one or two times on the piano or the keyboard behind it. "Radio Gaga" is the song that inspired Lady Gaga to her stage name. The movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a great and entertaining movie, but I wouldn't rely too much on the truth part. It was made for entertaining and legend building and is fictional in wide parts. Many of the pictured events happened very differently or not at all. It would be more honest to say it was "inspired by real events".
"Radio GaGa" is how Lady GaGa got her name.
🐈⬛️🐈😱😍🤗
Also, in the video for Radio GaGa, the dancers or whatever in the video do the *clap clap* *hands* thing, so it's totally amazing that the entire crowd did it for this live performance. 📻👏👏🙌
Live was a benefit concert for famine relief, as were 'Do They Know It's Christmas' and 'We Are The World'. Anyways, it featured a lot of artists, so their stage time was limited, and to get the most in they did a kind of medley of hits. I cannot recommend Bohemian Rhapsody enough, it's an amazing true story, and a great movie. 🫶
Thank you! The movie is awesome too. 👏🫶👸 Please consider A House of Dynamite on Netflix, your insight would be greatly appreciated, as always. 🙏
Thank you! I needed this... One of my favourite Queen songs is " '39", written and performed by lead guitarist Brian May. It was my first exposure to relativistic (yep, Einstein) ballads/laments. Here's the Official lyric video. https://youtu.be/kE8kGMfXaFU?si=DmaMhTQW_afw9lek
I enjoy your emotions! Keep 'em coming
For some context, I graduated high school in '89. Yes, Freddy was probably the first famous person that passed from AIDs that had a profound effect on me. Other stars had died from it in the early to mid-80s but I wasn't really familiar with them. I had loved Queen (and still do) from their early days and they were constantly on the radio. It was a very tough time to be an openly gay man. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to be in that era. You've been through the COVID panic so picture that but with a very specific community that was being blamed for it. Very sad. As you do movies as well I'd recommend the movie "Philadelphia" to understand what it was like. It stars Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. Anyway, it was truly a shame to lose Freddy that early. He was one of the great front men for any band, arguably the best.
You are welcome! Enjoy watching this :)
Wow, first! You absolutely must watch the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. The casting was bang on, and it's such a good movie. Also, my comment on the last music reaction got lost on the reupload so just in case: My recommendations of music reactions are Hallelujah, Sound of Silence and Imagine by Pentatonix; Tom's Diner by Annenmaykantereit and Giant Rooks.
