I hope you re-visit middle earth someday watching "The Hobbit" trilogy where you will get to see a character from this movie doing a brilliant role :D also buckle up for Infinity war coming up!!!
"Ready for chaos, and i hope you are too!" You are not ready for the chaos that's about to come...it will change you.
“ this reminds me of Madagascar 2 escape from Africa “ 🤣You weren’t lying when you said you’ve only seen animated movies lmao it’s so cute
Almost time for infinity war, its about to get crazy
Hi bestieeeee! Yes, I'm commenting while you're still doing the intro. Yes, I'll most likely comment many times more. Stoked to get into Black Panther with ya!
It’s fun now because every day is a wait and see if E posts or not. Many reactors are stuck on schedules but this is a different vibe. I like it. It’s cool when I know the next thing will be really good but don’t know when it will happen. 🍻
All the stories come together in Avengers Infinity War... It's pretty epic...
Man, seeing that Chadwick-centric opening crawl really hit the feels
very good reaction. i am very happy you enjoy the Marvel Universe <3
RIP Chadwick Boseman <3
I do enjoy this one but Im ready for Infinity War
Next up is Infinity War guys!!!! I am so ready!!
That Soda Pop jumpscare at the start absolutely got me — was not ready for that volume spike 😅 This one felt a bit like Ant-Man for me in the best way: a solid movie, important pieces getting set on the board, but also kind of a breather before things go completely off the rails. Not every entry needs a full essay 🤣, and this one sits really nicely in that “take a breath while you still can” space. Also… this is the last stop before everything starts hitting hard. I genuinely don’t have the words for how hyped I am for the next two Avengers movies. Calm before the storm energy is real right now. Buckle up 🔥
So... first things first... don't start your day with Infinity War when you are ready for that. That would be... ill-advised. I'm very excited for you to see it, though! We really are heading into a very fast-paced part of the MCU! The crazy thing, though, is that Killmonger... isn't _wrong_ about the problem with how Wakanda has interacted with the world. And, heck, in a lot of ways, he won, because he has changed how Wakanda is going to engage with the world. Still, his efforts to cause violent uprisings were stopped, thankfully. T'Chala's father made a very bad decision, one that was, ultimately, born of cowardice. And Chadwick... he is a true hero. Even as far back as his appearance in Civil War, he was losing his battle with the cancer that would end up taking his life. Still, he persevered through it because he believed in the importance of creating a hero that people could look to and see nobility. T'Chala forever.
You have no idea how unnecessarily excited I am for you to see infinity war now 🩵🦋 Wonderful time with a wonderful person as always. Keep shining
God I forgot how great of a stretch Marvel had during this era. Just hit after hit. I can't believe it's already been like a decade.
Ludwig Göransson, the composer, is kind of insane. He did so much work studying African music to create this score and goes way back to college with the director. They work together on pretty much everything, including Sinners. He also got his start on Community, where he met Donald Glover and worked with him on Childish Gambino. He's a generational talent when it comes to music.
I'm reminded of a great line from book one of a Song of Ice and Fire from one Renly Baratheon to Eddard Stark: "Do you still believe good soldiers make good kings?" Black Panther does not quite argue that 'might makes right', but does posit that 'right stems from might'. That the better king will naturally be the better warrior, and that succession via violence leads to the functional multi-generational stability that a place like Wakanda would necessarily have to be built on in order to exist. Imagine if it were so, that you CAN'T be the better warrior without ALSO being the better king; that whomever can defeat a king (bad or good) will always by nature of being stronger, also be better. You simply can't have the sort of multi-generational stability necessary for a Wakanda to exist without presupposing that their 'might' based succession system works as we saw here. Where a bad king is both rare and fleeting. Is that take true? It doesn't matter! Wakanda is a setting where you get to explore what reality might look like IF that were true. Conversely, subtle jabs in the Thor series argues the alternative. Thor ('worthy' though he may be) is often joked at clearly not making for a good king in spite of his unrivaled strength. And Loki, despite briefly 'winning' the throne was in no way a better king than Odin, whom he defeated and supplanted leading into Ragnarok. Asgard is much like Wakanda in that succession stems from might and heredity, but unlike Wakanda is portrayed as a political ticking time bomb staved off for as long as it has been only by the fortune of their singular 'good' king (Odin) having provided unbroken rule via his near immortality. Quite the narrative alternative to the Wakandian notion that hereditary might produces generational stability. Is that take correct? Doesn't matter! Asgard is where you get to explore what reality would look like IF it were true. Marvel is a neat little universe where you can entertain your glass being 'half full' and 'half empty' at the same time while still feeling entirely cohesive and consistent. How they pull it off is a mystery, but we're all the better for getting to explore all sides of every coin. Is Tony a hero, or a villain? Is Hulk? Is Hydra? Is Shield? Is a Black Panther King better than a democracy? Is Odin? If yes, then what of Loki attempting to bring the same system of governance to Earth, same as Odin did millennia ago when he conquered the nine realms? It is portrayed as good, and bad, when it needs to be good, and needs to be bad, so we can explore the different realities that would have to be so in order for them to be good and bad. In that way, we can test the feasibility of those fictional realities against the actual one we actually live in. Thank you for attending my TED talk.
The next movie is gonna be a banger! Also get a few boxes of tissues because you’ll need them lol
You never fail to disappoint. Nice reaction.
Another great watch, as always. I think it might be safe to say, every single person here, is waiting with great anticipation, for you to see Infinity Wars, we have been counting down the days for you to get to it, probably ever since your first Captain America movie. I am hyped for you to see it.
Firstly, it was a joy to re-watch this whilst watching you experience it for the first time. I recall my first viewing of this film in the theater very vividly. I even recall stating to myself, mentally, "There is some academy-award-level writing going on in a lot of these scenes". It was, of course, nominated for Best Picture, much to the chagrin of some. This re-watch further cements my feeling that the nomination was wholly deserved. "It is difficult for a good man to be king", "Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from the ships, 'cause they knew death was better than bondage" (what a fucking line). Subsequent viewings of the film drastically improve the experience of watching it, in my opinion. Not just because there are funny lines, insane action sequences, or incredible set-design and costume work, or just an overload of beautiful people to look at; but because you go into the film already thinking far more deeply and meaningfully than when you thought you were just going to sit down and watch comic-book awesomeness unfolding on the screen. Well, at least that's how it is for me. Finally, when this film came out, it was so good to see so many people snapping out of the ridiculous mindset that black STORIES are only appealing to black PEOPLE. Growing up, I had white friends from London who knew Spike Lee's filmography front-to-back, friends in Japan who were obsessed with The Color Purple. If I, as a grown-ass man, can watch a Pixar movie about a Chinese girl dealing with the struggles of puberty (essentially), and completely engage with the story on a really heartfelt, emotional and personal level, how is it not plainly obvious to EVERYONE that our history as a species of storytellers transcends any modern-day ideas of division and tribalism? Like, it's such a dumb perspective, and the executive leadership in Hollywood is still so far behind when it comes to dispelling these archaic ways of thinking. An amazing movie like K-Pop Demon Hunters was just unceremoniously dropped on Netflix instead of getting a wide theatrical release; and now? That movie has taken over the entire fucking planet! Black Panther made over a whole-ass billion dollars, but I guess it's "only appealing to black people". Lol. LMAO, in fact. This movie is a triumph, and Hollywood is silly. Okay, I'm done.
Yeah, it's Infinity War next.
Perfectly balanced as all things should be
Yeah, this film was written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who also made Sinners and the Creed films, hence Michael B Jordan.
first creed only
Y'all know what's next!
Your reactions are precious to me! I understand we are technically at war now so I expect you to be at work more now but I am so excited for the next movie I can't wait for it lol, So I hope people understand if you don't post as much from here on out and praying for your safety!
bro i cannot believe we made it to infinity war. next movie reaction gonna be awesome. no ones ever ready for it XD
Bro she not ready for it, infinity war is probably the best movie Marvel puts out
Casting Martin Freeman to react to Wakanda's reveal was a perfect choice, it's like he's Arthur Dent all over again.
🔥🔥🔥🔥soundtrack
The Marvel Intro being only him was added years later when Chadwick Boseman passed away. He was battling cancer filming all these MCU films and kept it quiet.
LOL I forgot Bilbo Baggins was in this movie, caught me off guard.
and Gollum (Klaue | Andy Serkis)
Like, you should watch Infinity War tomorrow or whatever.
I've been waiting for you to get to this one.
@2:07:45 "What is next?" Avengers: Infinity war, good luck Erelia!
With a few exceptions, Marvel knows what makes a good villain. One you can understand and sympathise with and that's been a constant mainstay with the series. It doesn't matter how good and powerful your hero is if the battles they fight are without meaning.
Not critical, just wondering, Eponymous perhaps?
You've now met the best MCU villain: Killmonger. In the next movie, you will beet the 2nd best villain and (in my opinion) best MCU movie of them all. Saddle up, buckle in, you ain't seen nothing yet.
i think honestly wenwu is the best but other than that youre not wrong
They chose to show Chadwick Boseman, the Black Panther, at the start of the film because, sadly, he had passed away around the last movie in the Infinity Saga.
Thanks for taking a little bit of your spare time with us. I get a ton of enjoyment from your reactions, and I hope we provide the same (or more) enjoyment and energy back to you.
i'm so glad i saw this movie in the theaters. Oakland is my hometown so the theater was packed, and man, what an experience. This was such a great vibe. Having my hometown in a Marvel movie was great
Eralia,"I know this guy. From Sinners." You should also know him from the HBO series The Wire. I'm hoping you'll eventually decide to react to some TV shows. The Wire should be one of the first as it's an incredible series about the gangs running drugs in Baltimore as told from the perspective of both the gang members and the Baltimore PD. The series also has Idris Elba (Heimdall from the Thor movies).
Also Michael Kenneth Williams who had a cameo in The Incredible Hulk.
Top tier MCU!
Another good movie!!
Oh boy, Infinity War is next. 😬
Legendary refresh pull
The intro featuring the actor (Chadwick Boseman) is to honor him because he died of cancer IRL after Avengers Infinity War came out.
I’m excited to watch this tonight with ya! Black Panther definitely grew on me throughout the years. Wakanda Forever! Can’t wait for Infinity War!! Thanks and take care Eralia!
I can not wait for you to watch infinity war and endgame!!!! You will be sobbing!!! But it's sooooooo goooodd!!!!
Awwww yiss.
Here's to the Infinity War E! For Chadwick! 🖤Xiambe! 👑
The next MCU reaction is gonna be insane
Yay!
