Could you perhaps try not to play with loki during your reactions? Of course you can do whatever you want but i think some of us would appreciate you to fully concentrate on the movie

THANK YOU!!! Someone said it! I wanted to comment about it, but I feared that I'd get banned lol. I have the exact same cat. He sits in my lap while I watch these reactions. There's nothing wrong with her cat, but we paid to see eralia, not the kitty, but at this point it's a packaged deal lol and it’s her channel, so I'm dealing with it. Thanks for mentioning that!

I'm late to the party with this one. Just finished the watch-along and loved movie night! Can't wait for the Ragnarok watch-along to drop. It's one of my favorites!

about the difference between peter and super soldiers. its been shown many many times in comics that peter is so far beyond super soldiers he makes them look easy to fight. even in the mcu, in civil war peter casually caught a punch from winter soldier and just made a silly remark while bucky looked at him in disbelief

So happy to see you are back! Can't wait for more content! Now, I hope you can withstand my nerdy ramblings for a minute 😅: Fun Fact #1: Peter looking at the Unisphere (big metal globe) is a reference to Iron Man 2 in which Peter was the kid in the Iron Man mask who stood up to the drone before Iron Man saves him. Wasn't always that way, but when fans starting theorizing that it could have been Peter, Marvel Studios went like "... you know what? Yeah, it is Peter." There will be other references to this that cement this fact in later films. Fun Fact #2: Spider-Man always had mechanical web shooters first. Stan Lee when first creating the character in the 1960's felt it would show off how smart Peter as a 15 year old was and thought organic web shooters would be too unbelievable. Sam Raimi when making the 2002 Spider-Man film felt the exact opposite way about that. Fun Fact #3: Donald Glover was fan casted to be Miles Morales aka Spider-Man and even voiced the character in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series. Miles Morales is the Spider-Man who takes over for Peter in the Ultimate Marvel Universe (Earth 1610) when Peter is killed back in the early 2010's. Miles has since gained major popularity and has been in multiple mediums, even leading his own ongoing animated movie trilogy, the Spider-Verse. So Donald being casted as Miles's uncle Aaron Davis, also a prevalent comic book character, is just icing on the cake and seeing as how Donald has reprised the role recently in his full supervillain get up (that's right, supervillain), we may be seeing Miles in live action sooner rather than later. Final Fun Fact (because this is already way too long, sorry 😣): Peter lifting the rubble of the warehouse off of him is a reference to The Amazing Spider-Man Issue #33, where Peter contemplates giving up after being trapped under a pile of rubble after a fight with Doctor Octopus and being completely exhausted from being Spider-Man non-stop the last few days. But when Peter remembers that if he doesn't get out of there, Aunt May will succumb to her illness as only Peter has the serum that can cure her, he musters all of his strength and frees himself. It is one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the character, showing his greatest strength is not his powers, but his indomitable will. Thank you for reading, and I promise to be much more succinct in my following comments. 😁

Marvel is really great at giving us the kinds of characters we need when we need them. He really is such a great kid isn't he??

Onno Smits · February 19, 2026

Great reaction! I, like you, hate the "cringe"-comedy. But your reaction made rewatching this movie a lot of fun! And the scene in the car with Peter, Liz, and Toomes, is genuinely so compelling!

Dorran · February 19, 2026

For myself, I really like Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Spidy starts out as a teenager. And, yeah, Toby Mguire's Spidy is a high school student at the start of the movie, but... he doesn't quite feel like one. Not to me, at least. He's more... that era of Hollywood's idea of an awkward teenager, who is still just... effortlessly hot once they take the glasses off. I don't know. That's just my feelings about him. Anyway, definitely focus on the MCU movies right now. After Endgame, you'll have a way easier time watching the old Fox Marvel movies and the Spider-Man movies. Right now, we're on a fast-track to action, but after Endgame, it's a lot easier to just... take a moment and breathe with it. Just make sure that you watch the Disney+ MCU shows, too!

We are so back!!!

Simon Argent · February 19, 2026

Yay, we’re back! I’ve been sooo excited to get back into the reactions, and this was a fun one to return with. You’re spot on about the vibe being a little different here. This movie really leans into the awkward, cringey, second-hand embarrassment energy — and yeah, that’s not everyone’s favourite. But that is Peter Parker. He’s meant to be a painfully awkward, nerdy, unpopular teenager, so the cringe is kind of baked in. I’m right there with you though, second-hand embarrassment is one of my least favourite things in movies — this one just does it well enough that it mostly works. Yep, this is where Zendaya and Tom Holland met and started their off-camera romance. I’m a sucker for those stories of actors meeting on set and actually ending up together. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie from GoT are another great example. It just makes them feel more human — especially when the relationship actually lasts, which… isn’t exactly common in Hollywood. That whole “I’m nothing without this suit” / “If you’re nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it” exchange is one of my favourite moments. It’s such a good contrast — Peter being impulsive and insecure, wanting to be someone, and Tony shutting it down in the most mature way possible. I also love that it echoes the first Avengers when Cap asks Tony what he is without the suit, and Tony fires back with “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.” And oh man… the car ride to the prom. Pure pain. Watching you physically cringe through that whole scene was hilarious — the awkwardness is unreal. You’re absolutely right about Vulture too. He’s such an effective villain because he’s relatable. He’s not some moustache-twirling evil guy — he’s just a dad who got screwed over by the system and got desperate trying to protect his family. That moral grey area hits hard. Another great reaction. Phase 3 is really starting to ramp up now and I’m so hyped for what’s coming — and also for the final HP7. It’s gonna be a ride.

I love that Jennifer Connelly voices Karen, given that her real life husband is Jarvis and Vision. Also, Peter's principal is played by one of the guys who was in Cap's squad in WW2. I believe he's the grandson of that character.

She was also Betty Ross in Hulk (2003). Also that one teacher played by Martin Starr was in The Incredible Hulk.

Endgame. That's when you gotta pause the MCU progression and revisit a bunch of the old movies that lead up to the modern MCU, because a lot of those characters and stories will come into play post-Endgame.

J
Jay Adams · February 19, 2026

Spiderman Miles Morales is the best Spiderman game. Also, you have to watch at least the first "Amazing Spiderman" with Andrew Garfield before going too far down the MCU Spiderman line.

D
Darian Harman · February 19, 2026

These MCU Spider-Man movies tend to zag in places where the others zigged. As much as I loved both Tobey and Andrew growing up, I have to say that this is the first film to give me the feelings I had whilst reading Spider-Man and watching the animated series, all whilst subtly re-inventing how it can be delivered on-screen without jeopardizing the character. Also: My favorite line in the film is, "Ow, my butt!". Lol.

spiderman is very strong, in the mcu, physically hes probably the strongest minus the hulk and another character not yet introduced. He also has regenative powers, thats why after the plane fight hes all busted up, but the next day at school he looks fine. He literally throws tanks and stuff in the comics. Purely, physically speaking, hes a good deal stronger than captain america. Cap gets punched by buckeys arm and it hurts him bad, but in civil war, spider man catches buckeys arm with two fingers and says , wow a metal arm, cool. ALSO, infinity war is super close.

D
Darj · February 18, 2026

Spider Man's constant trait is that he's actually good. There's no moral dyllemas during his development, he will ALWAYS do the right thing. And that often comes with a downside. The threat to his loved ones is ever present and since his scope is usually much smaller than that of the other superheroes, it presents itself as a much larger part of who he is. He doesn't have a huge budget or a big arsenal of gadgets (at least for the most part) and he feels so much more grounded and almost the every-man (or boy). And that will invariably bring with it the teenage cringe as well. A big part of Peter Parker's story is that he is just a kid, thrust into a big world with big responsibilities. Aaaand on the one hand I kind of understand the lack of a back story, because it was done twice before in quick succession only a few years before this movie came out, but on the other, his interaction with uncle Ben and the lessons he imparted on him, including the very last one, feels like that since we as an audience didn't get to witness it in this iteration, it's almost like he was deprived of as well. He's still a good kid, though, but at least for now feels like he doesn't know what to do or have a direction. Wow, that was ramblomatic...

Hi eralia! Glad to see you back, been a joyride following your journey through the MCU and I always look forward to your reactions, can't wait for more! Some cool bits of the movie I thought might be cool to know: - Donald Glover's character, Aaron Davis, is the uncle of Miles Morales, another Spider-man in comics and other media. - Mac Gargan, the guy they tried to sell weapons to on the ferry and the one who asked who Spider-man was in the post-credits, is Scorpion, a Spider-man villain. - The asian student on the decathlon team is Cindy Moon, a spider-man female counterpart in the comics known as Silk. - Phineas Mason, the guy who worked on the Vulture's tech, is the Tinkerer, also another Spider-man villain in the comics. - Herman Schulz, the guy who became the Shocker after the first one was killed by Vulture, is also a Spider-man villain in the comics.

I’m not gonna lie I’ve seen too many MCU reactions on YouTube! Lol but I love your videos, I can tell you’re a huge nerd and surprised you knew so little about marvel, that was my favorite, I only watched the marvel cartoons growing up and didn’t read the comics till infinity war

I like how Marvel casts these A-lister actors for these supporting roles, especially for villains. Michael Keaton and Marisa Tomei (not a villain but aunt May) in this one, Robert Redford in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there may be others.

M
Mike A · February 18, 2026

100%. A convincing villain is probably more important than a great hero. An impressive villain will elevate a good hero.

P
Powers209 · February 18, 2026

Eralia, the MCU Spider-Man is not Spider-Man. Spider-Man is way, way stronger than Cap. Spider-Man tends to hold back out of fear that he might hurt someone. Even a bad guy. Spidy isn't a cosmic hero like Thor but in the comics, he's battled Hulk and didn't get killed.

J
Jeff Smith · February 18, 2026

This is true, but this is early Spiderman, he’s still learning his abilities. Even in this film he mentions he’s only had the abilities for a few months.

That car scene had no business being that intense. That scene alone was better than most of phase 4 in the MCU 😂. btw, how many languages do you know erelia?

The theme song is a reference to the 70's(?) Spider-Man cartoon that Gen-Xers watched, the lyrics of which you might (or might not) have heard parodied on other shows: "♪Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Does whatever a spider can, Spins a web, any size Catches thieve just like flies Look out... Here comes the Spider-Man..."

Good choice to just continue with Mcu movies! Can always go back after endgame and finish the old spiderman movies 😄

T
Troy · February 18, 2026

Agreed. I kept seeing people saying, 'You need to watch this, that, and the other first!" And I'm just like, "No, she doesn't, she can learn these things organically like everyone else who didn't watch all those movies first. It'll be fine."
