I know I’m a little late on this. But this is hands-down, my favorite Marvel movie and it’s because if you look at the tone of Marvel after this film, it set a precedent. I think that this movie changed the overall feel and approach to the MCU. I think every movie that followed this one, used it as a template to move forward. I don’t think all of them hit the mark on it. And some strayed way off course. But this movie became the blueprint.
daily reminder scarlet witch an quick silver are magnetos children
As a member of Team Tony since high school, thank you for reminding me that Cap is just as cool as Iron Man and with that, here's to the endgame! 🥂
This one has to be kind of surreal to watch for someone in the armed forces at this moment in time, I can't imagine it's easy to serve a country that is under threat of falling to a tyrranical government. Must be hard to know where to draw the line. This is a fantastic movie, might be my favourite of the bunch.
I got ultimate respect to the kid at the launch computer who refused to launch even with a gun aimed at him. One of the unsung heroes of the movie.
Look, I don't know if anyone else has said this in the comments, but I just want to express my gratitude for your correction of the pronunciation of Kyiv when it was pronounced, "Kiev" in the film. I may not be Ukrainian, but I am old enough to have been morally and monetarily supporting Ukraine since before the "annexation" of Crimea. That one remark of yours is enough to tell me that you are a very, very good egg. Thank you. That warmed my heart.
The fight choreography in this movie was top notch perfect👌 also your 6th sence to sniff out bad guys is impressive, you called out the baddies before they showed their true intentions.
I love this movie! My favorite thing about it is that even though I *love* Marvel movies, it doesn't feel like one. It feels like an espionage movie that just happens to have a super hero.
When's the next reaction? I know it's GOTG.
Another One! <- Me channeling DJ Khaled! But seriously another great reaction. This movie was one of my top 5s in the first four phases of the MCU! I'm really starting to take the lack of Eralia-isms on some of these movies as how good you think the movie is. The more engrossed you are, the less Eralia-isms. Rightly so. This movie has got great action, good story and really well-planned character narratives and relationships. Not to worry, I have some great Eralia-isms for your Harry Potter series (I'll be sure to mention them on those movies' comments)! No matter how good they are or not, those movies just give you so much fun material to work with! Keep the amazing MCU reactions coming. It's nice to have something to look forward to during the week!
It looked like you really moved by what Sam said when he was talking to the group at the PTSD meeting.
Who the fuck lives in New Jersey? You're fucking funny!!
Haha! She said that and I was like, hey I live in New Jersey! 😂😂
ah yes, Community's paintball episode on da big screen. Best marvel movie imo
The Bible quote on Nick Fury's tombstone is a reference to Samuel L. Jackson's character in "Pulp Fiction".
I had to laugh every time you were like "That guy looks evil. Those guys look so evil." Well, you weren't wrong 😂 So excited to see your GotG reaction.
Can’t wait to see what you think of Guardians of the Galaxy. 😆
The mid credit scene, was ex-agents of Hydra experimenting with Loki's staff to infuse it's energy into people, all died except the twins which Loki's staff gave them powers, you'll see that story continue in Avengers Age of Ultron, which comes right after Guardians of the Galaxy.
One of my favorite Marvel movies!!
Winter Soldier is good. I like how Marvel doesn't just make super hero movies, for example this one is a Noir Spy thriller w/ super heros. For me it pales in comparison to the third Captain America movie, Civil war (political/Avengers drama) which I rate as being one of the best MCU movies so far.
In the first/mid credit scene, the two "magic" people were technically mutants (in the same vein as the X-Men). At this point ine time 20th Century Fox owned the rights to the mutants (Marvel sold it to them a while ago and they still owned it) so they kind of gloss over that. How wr a few years later Disney bought Fox and that got a lot of fans excited because it meant that official mutants (Deadpool/Wolverine/etc) could now be in the MCU, and we see this in Deadpool actually. When the time is right, you'll want to watch Deadpool 2, it's so funny.
Deadpool 2 has Logan (2017) spoilers tho so X-Men movies first
This one's always a fun watch! Super excited for Guardians of the Galaxy next, though!
The movie they mentioned in the Zola scene is "War Games". Might be worth watching down the road at some point. Older movie but still good, being in the military you might enjoy it.
Right Jonathan... War Games is a very worth while movie to watch.
seeing your shirt, you considered watching The Legend of Vox Machina/The Mighty Nein? They are based on the D&D campaign of a group of voice actors that streams it called "Critical role". It's really good. Either way, cool shirt.
Batroc is played by Georges St-Pierre. He was a UFC champion. He can actually fight like that in real life (well maybe not quite like that lol).
Also not just any champion. He's considered one of the best fighters of all time, if not the best.
Hey Eralia! I just wanted to say how much I love your videos. Quick suggestion though: when you jump to the end credits, it kinda feels like we're missing out. Could you either A. play the movie sound while skipping or B. let us know the time code you're jumping to?
The movie Natasha quoted that Steve said he saw is "War Games"
still top 3 for me so good
My favorite Cap movie!

Your Marvel reactions always make my day! Thank you and thank you for being a Hero!
Steve put the old uniform on to help bucky remember who he is
The “would you like to play a game” movie reference is from Wargames
Wargames is definitely one to put on your list.
I think I have that same DnD shirt XD
I didn't think much of this film my first journey though the MCU, but I liked it the second time, and I think now on a third watch this is one of my favorites. In many ways -we- are (and always have been) the greatest threat to ourselves, and this story is told well with some amazing character building and cinematic pacing. The neat thing is that the writers have decades of established comic/story canon to draw from, so this twist on S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't some sudden decision they made after the fact, but something they knew they were going to do since the very beginning; The moment Nick Fury shows up at the end of Iron Man, and in the middle of writing the Avengers, this swerve was in the works and when you go back the seeds are all there, scattered at every point in the journey. Also, after many rewatches, I think Black Widow might just be my favorite MCU character.
This isn't just a good MCU movie, it's a good movie period. thx 4 all ur hard work WHILE having so many IRL responsibilities. 💪👍
" french can't be villains " U might wanna watch the french connection 😆
on your left, Eralia.
How you like his new Air Force uniform?
We've reached the mountain tops, Eralia. This is going to get good.
agents of shield pairs with the marvel movies so well. It honestly sucks not a lot of creators watch it. Probably cuz it takes a lot of time. but I'd defenitely recommend it
I had forgotten how bleak and chaotic this movie was, even knowing where it goes from here. I think I'd been braced for this, having seen the TV show "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." beforehand. (Unless I'm misremembering the order of reveals.) The next movie is much lighter at least.
Tony Stark did not commission it. Made me laugh when you said it haha 😂
Yeah, another "middle" movie, but I feel like they did it a lot better this time around. There was a more in-depth villain that touched more on the backstory, the lore and affected how things will unfold in the future. This wasn't just some two dimensional hack that doesn't feel like it connected to the bigger picture in a substantial way like the previous two movies (Iron Man 2 and Thor: The Dark World). I really do like events and characters that affect the main driving forces of the main story, making them adapt and grow but without changing who they are at the core. I feel like Marvel really understands that sort of story-telling. A couple of things that you may have missed: 1. Now the helicarriers have crashed, you may be able to recognize where the final fight in Deadpool took place. 2. The epitaph on Nick Fury's cenotaph is a nice reference. I shall say no more. 3. HTC used to be a powerhouse in the mobile phone market at this point in time. They innovated a LOT of what is now standard fare on every smarphone and now they're completely gone. Everyone uses it at one point in this movie and even I used to have the same one that James Sitwell did. HTC One X+. Still miss that phone. And an aside fact: The reason why no villain ever uses an iPhone is that Apple is a long standing sponsor and bankroll for Hollywood and one of their stipulations is that no villain is to ever be seen using their products. It would "spoil the brand". What a load of horseshit. Your brand has been spoiled for decades. But anyway, not my soapbox. See you in the next one!
Your iPhone point is just a myth.
Eralia, since your reaction to the movie seemed more mixed and this happens to be my favorite MCU movie, I'll add some context for you. The movie came out in 2014. The Snowden leak happened in 2013. So many of us were asking the same questions that this movie centered on (safety at the sacrifice of freedom, etc). Perfect movie for that period of time. I'll just leave it at that because I don't want to turn it into a political debate. (please don't do that, folks) I'll also add that I have a strong attraction to movies that show genuine male friendships without mocking them. Sam and Frodo, Andy and Red, that sort of thing. This movie obviously had that with Steve and Bucky. Also, a budding one with Steve and Sam.
"Those who cannot conceive Friendship as a substantive love but only as a disguise or elaboration of Eros betray the fact that they have never had a Friend." - Tolkien
It's interesting how they reference the dystopia we're currently entering in real life with the data and digital fingerprinting and what not. This movie is what used to be a conspiracy theorist's wet dream but is now our insane reality!
The Marvel movies just get better and better going into Phase 3! Thanks again! Safe travels Eralia!
The fella that plays Batroc, the French villain on the ship, is Georges St. Pierre, a UFC fighter famous for a long title reign at 170lbs.
Still #1 for me. Just incredible in every way, really hope you dug this one!
Girl, when I say Ive been refreshing the page waiting for this vid to come out.
Favorite Marvel movie.
Top 5 MCU movies of all time!!
Heading to my tv's now!!!
Yes! I can't wait to watch this!
🐐
Well, now I know what I’m doing for the next few hours. And I couldn’t be more excited. Thanks Eralia!
Whoot! I thought you were doing Harry Potter first. This is my favorite MCU movie with Thor: Ragnarok as a close second. Hope you loved it. :)
