Enjoyed so much this reaction and hope you enjoy your travel along the mcu. Also I enjoyed your Spider-Man 2002 reaction so I hope some day you react to Hulk 2003 movie, its awsome

"Big green wiener" was not a phrase I expected to hear today. lol

"thats...thats in my brain now" -Thor

TokyoLopez · November 23, 2025

there are many ways to watch the mcu and i really like that you watched cap first because you got an understanding of cap in his time, and howard starks ventures first, and then when you jumped to iron man, you saw that tony’s company, stark industries was the same as howard’s, then when you watched thor you saw that dr. selvig talked about a scientist who worked with gamma and then you connected it to here. then when general ross speaks on the program with ww2 he brings up the serum with cap, it’s details like that i enjoy for whatever reason, i hope you come back to your home safe and in good health, and thanks for sharing your experiences with us!

Fuck your reactions are GOOD!!!!! Unhinged, unfiltered, high energy, emotional and as another person has mentioned, your eraliaisms. A big lima bean 🤣🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣 Keep this shit up, I'm lovin it and here for it! I'm not a big fan of this movie but it's mostly because of the guy that plays Bruce/Hulk. Don't like or care for him. Otherwise the movie is good. Remember General Ross. He plays a major role in a later phase.

Colt Moore · November 22, 2025

Some people also say to skip this movie because of the recasting of Bruce Banner (Hulk) moving forward, so they don’t want you to get attached to this actor (Edward Norton). It’s fine tho. They recast James Rhodes (Rhodey) after Iron Man 1 and you get used to the new Rhodey (Don Cheadle), so you’ll get used to Mark Ruffalo (New Hulk) moving forward.👍🏼

K
Keith · November 23, 2025

Exactly. It's not that this movie is bad, it's that it doesn't really add anything to the overall story in the first couple phases of the MCU. Though some characters come back in later phases. As Colt stated, Edward Norton is recast starting in Avengers.

Bob Steppan · November 22, 2025

Hope you're feeling better.

M
Mike A · November 22, 2025

Yes, people hate on The Hulk. I think that’s because it’s ‘fine’. You’re gonna see 23 films in the Infinity Saga (and I’m thrilled to watch them with you). I’d say 21 of these movies are great-to-excellent, and 2 are fine. Ok, there are a couple that are epic. So, it’s not that The Hulk is bad, it just stacks up poorly with the next ~20 movies you’re going to see.

Durring your Mavel Cinematic adventures, keep in mind that Disney bought Marvel in 2009, a little over a year after this movie was released, and two years before Thor was released.

I saw people on the YT comments pointing out that the security guard actor played the Hulk in the old TV series. I happen to be ancient enough to have watched that series when it aired. They played a bit of the theme song from it in the movie. Here's the TV show intro if you're interested - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9MysTXM_P4

Another great reaction. It was the absolute tits! Not as many Eralia-isms in this one, but the one you did drop was absolute gold (Strike that, I found more than one after watching the youtube edit)! Running List of Eralia-isms (MCU so far): Iron Man (2008): “Chonky boy” — her name for the Mark I cave suit. Thor (2011): “Tess-Afflack” — her attempt at saying “Tesseract,” like the Aflac duck. “Wormhole butthole” — where she thinks Loki fell when he let go. The Incredible Hulk (2008): When Betty walks across campus with her new boyfriend and Bruce is hiding behind a tree, she goes: “I bet he doesn’t have a big green wiener.” 🤣🤣🤣 Peak Eralia energy. "The Meat Sweats!" - Her nickname for Tim Roth's character right before he became The Abomination Quick FYI about the Universal/Sony/Fox stuff: Back in the 90s when Marvel was going bankrupt, they sold movie rights to different studios: Hulk → Universal Spider-Man → Sony X-Men (including Wolverine, Deadpool, etc.) and Fantastic Four → Fox That’s why the Hulk movie you just watched has the Universal logo, and why Spider-Man movies always open with Sony. Fox owned all the X-Men characters too, which is why Deadpool originally belonged to the X-Men universe, not the Avengers side. They’re all Marvel characters, but Deadpool’s world, jokes, and storylines come from the mutant/X-Men corner of Marvel. Disney later bought Fox, so now Deadpool, Wolverine, and the rest of the mutants can finally appear in the MCU. If you want to understand Deadpool fully later on, the key X-Men movies you'll eventually want to watch are: X-Men (2000) X2 (2003) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) X-Men: First Class (2011) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) Deadpool (2016) Logan (2017) — not required but absolutely worth it Deadpool 2 (2018) Deadpool & Wolverine (2025) I know right now you're focused on MCU Phase 1, 2, and 3. Keep it up because this has been a blast so far. This is just a PSA once you get to Deadpool again, so that his character and movies will make a lot more sense. In the end I suspect we'll enjoy you and the way you enjoy story telling of all types and genres... regardless of which order you watch them in. 😉

No reason at all to skip this movie. It’s really good on its own. Even if not at the level of the best MCU flicks. Enjoy! 🍻

The Norton 360 was probably an ad, but I think it was also a nod to the main actor, Ed Norton.

N
Nathan Steele · November 21, 2025

I really hope no one has been actually upset with you watching these first few movies out of order. It really doesn't matter plot-wise. From about now on though, it starts to. But hell, when they were MAKING these first few they weren't even 100% sure if/how they would connect yet. This movie wasnt even part of the plan at the time until Iron Man's box office success a couple months earlier made Universal allow them to film the Tony Stark cameo.

R
Raj Hudek · November 22, 2025

Exactly! When they sold Hulk almost thirty years ago to Universal the rule was that Marvel could only use the Hulk in team up movies but couldn't make any standalone movies. Then Iron Man blew up and that's when they realized they'd hit paydirt! Robert Downey Jr's smart producer wife had him renegotiate his contract for all future appearances of Iron man for a base pay of $10,000,000 for any Iron Man movie (he was only paid for $500,000 for the first Iron Man), a portion of all other Marvel movies ever produced, and even a portion of all merchandise. Safe to say, RDJ will never have to use coupons or fly economy ever again!

I would love to see you react to Sam Ramis Spider-Man movies

T
Thomas Yanez · November 20, 2025

I'm really glad that you enjoyed this one, despite the naysayers. With the first three phases of the MCU, Marvel hit it out of the park, with most of the movies continuing to be banger after banger, and all integrated into one great big ball of awesome. Its the reason many of us will bring up the release order as being the proper way to watch. It really just is, especially for a newcomer. The man in control of the whole thing, Kevin Feige, had a plan laid out (built by cherry picking 40+ YEARS of comic world building) and for the most part was able to stick to his guns, thanks to success after success. At some point, you just have to give in and have faith in the process that if you are amenable to this sort of storytelling, then they are going to entertain THE FUCK out of you for 20+ movies in a row (and for many, well beyond that into the connected TV series' and next phases of the MCU.) I'm really looking forward to riding along on this journey you're taking. It's always fun to see the movies again through the eyes of a new fan.

Bruce Banner is my fav Avenger!! too bad they didnt keep Edward Norton though,

M
McShades · November 20, 2025

Before Disney bought out Marvel, Marvel was on the verge of going bankrupt so they sold the rights to the Hulk to Universal, Spider-Man to Sony and X-Men and Fantastic Four to Fox. Since then, Disney bought Fox and got the rights back to the X-Men and Fantastic Four. There is another Hulk movie which shows the origin story of The Hulk but marvel didn't make it part of the MCU. So The Incredible Hulk movie showed a little bit of what happen in the opening credits. If I remember right, Banner was trying to replicate the Super Soldier Serum that Captain American took but it didn't go right and turned himself into the Hulk. Just a FYI, in The Avengers they hired a different actor to play Bruce Banner (The Hulk). All the MCU movies through Avengers End Game are great, it's after End Game they become hit and miss.

J
Jayson Phillips · November 20, 2025

The Security guard was the Original HULK in the TV series in the 80's I think the only reason people do not like this movie is because they end up changing out the main character in the future movies.

B
ButtercupsTrueLove · November 20, 2025

People will always have an opinion. That's okay. Where I don't think it's appropriate is when someone dictates what others are supposed to like or dislike. I have friends who think that all superhero comic book-based movies are worthless, and one other who told me that she thinks ANY horror and action films in general are pointless and shouldn't be produced. Rather than try to tell a Patreon content creator what they should and should not be watching or reacting to, I think that we, as subscribers, should let them decide what they want to watch. Or, the Patreon host can post a poll to ask their subscribers for their picks or suggestions out of multiple choices.

Onno Smits · November 20, 2025

Lol, I'm going to refer to Emil Blonsky as Mr. Meat-Sweats from now on! 😂 Love the original score for this one. Really my only gripe with this one is that the final fight-sequence between "The Abomination" and "The Hulk" runs too long and outstays its welcome a bit. It was a blast to rewatch this with you, I'm looking forward to Iron Man 2!

C
ChunkyCharles · November 26, 2025

Nope. The final fight was the perfect length.

Darj · November 20, 2025

God damn your running commentary is fucking hilarious, Eralia. And you have NO idea the size of the legion you're joining by thirsting for that cucumber. xD

T
TehZombish · November 20, 2025

Just a fun little easter egg that you missed, but since you lived in a cave for like, forever... I kid I kid... but the super jacked security guard... that is Lou Feregno, who played the OG Hulk in the TV series back in like the early 80's. And, fun fact... the Hulk noises were all done by him. Can't wait for the next one!

M
Mike A · November 20, 2025

Callbacks to the ’70s Hulk TV show. @ 4:19: The guy on the TV who said “Eddie. That’s a great punch” is Bill Bixby. He played Dr. Bruce Banner in the ’70s Hulk TV show. @ ~38min: The jacked security guard is Lou Ferrigno. He played the Hulk in the ’70s Hulk TV show.

H
Hubbs30 · November 20, 2025

great Liv Tyler movies are "That Thing You Do" and "Empire Records". Great Edward Norton Films are "Fight Club" "American History X" and "Primal Fear". He really just shows and kills with his acting in these roles

S
Silas Kane · November 20, 2025

Aside from a couple misplaced end-credit scenes and the Iron Man sequel, the order in which phase one is watched doesn't really matter. So if there was ever a time to mix and match it's now. 😏 Once we hit the first Avengers movie and beyond, watching in order becomes far more important. Loving it so far keep it coming! 🔥

M
Max · November 20, 2025

Keep in mind, EVERYTHING the government does in these movies is attempting to recreate Captain America.

M
Max · November 20, 2025

You have no idea how refreshing it is to see these through eyes that didn't grow up on the comics and cartoons. I've always tried to enjoy these for what they are rather than what my idea of them should be. Comic fans can be the worst lol.

T
Troy · November 20, 2025

"Watch what seemed cool to me" is a 100% valid way to dive into any new hobby fandoms, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Long-time fans often forget that and end up scaring away new people with their rules and it irks me, because I'd much rather have more people enjoying them. You have enough rules in your job, I'm sure. Anyway, I'll be curious to see how this hits for you w/o prior exposure (no pun intended) to The [Incredible] Hulk.

D
Darj · November 20, 2025

For sure and that should always be the guiding principle. I guess we just get a bit too carried away because there is a certain sense to watching the movies in an order as they do reference those that came before and some people might get confused and taken out of the moment if they have no clue what a reference was supposed to mean. Everyone's different, though!
