These men are so successful that, because women are multifactorial, that kind of wealth makes them far more attractive than most other men. As women have acquired social power and wealth of their own they tend to be older when seeking a long term partner. They then, whether consciously or unconsciously, "punish" older men, who are on average far wealthier than younger men, with the hopes they'll buckle and settle with an older and less desirable woman than the one they could courtship. At the moment they do this through shame; calling them all sorts of names if they want to date younger women. Eventually they might even make laws around it. We can already see changes in the use of certain words used in contexts that are outside of the historical norm like "power dynamics" and "grooming" to give us an idea of where this might be headed. It's just manipulation. Unfortunately lower status men often tow the line as they can't do better themselves so it's another part of social manipulation to reduce competition.
