My Irish Football Manager Journey

What could be better than starting a Football Manager career in Ireland? That was my first thought. Then I realized I had absolutely nothing to support an Irish save... so I decided to fix that.

As a result, I started looking for 2D kits for Irish clubs. Fortunately, I found them here:

That solved one problem, but it also inspired me to create the missing graphics needed to make an Irish save feel complete.

The next thing missing was 3D kits. We all want to see our club wearing the correct kit on the pitch.

After a quick search, I realized there weren't any 3D kits available for the League of Ireland. So I created Dundalk's kit myself. I already had a little experience working with templates, but it still took a huge amount of time.

But then another problem appeared. Creating just one kit wouldn't solve anything—I needed kits for the entire league.

Then I remembered seeing an incredible League of Ireland kit pack created by @ClausVampire89 (Be sure to follow him on Twitter) for PES 2021. After receiving his permission to use the kits, I contacted @kitmakerdreamer (follow him on Twitter), who kindly converted the entire pack into Football Manager 2026 3D kits.

And just like that, the job was done.

Better still, thanks to the Goalkeeper Kit Plugin by @BassyBoy

sortitoutsi.net/content/77126/fm26-3d-goalkeeper-kit-manager, the game now also features proper goalkeeper kits, making the Irish leagues feel even more authentic.

There were still a few finishing touches left.

First, I created proper 3D referee kits for the League of Ireland. To make them appear in Football Manager, I used Referee Kit Plugin @mike94170 (follow him on Twitter) www.patreon.com/MikeAvelik/posts/new-and-last-for-161289636

Next, I designed competition sleeve patches. They may be a small detail, but they really help bring the kits to life.
