Finally, I’m going home. Back to Warsaw.
To be honest, I have accumulated so much work that my to-do list has developed a personality of its own and no longer seems to need my participation.
But the main reason I’m returning earlier than planned is my jaw.
I really wish I spoke English well enough to just record a long video and tell you everything that’s been happening, because this whole story deserves its own season of a medical drama.
For the past two months I’ve been going from consultation to consultation, trying to find an orthodontist willing to take on my case. I have a Class II overbite with an underdeveloped lower jaw, and most doctors keep telling me that my case is surgical.
The most frustrating part isn’t even that.
The gnathologist I spent a year treating with simply handed me my scans, documents, and records and sent me on my way. No dental overlays. No referral.
No clear plan.
Sometimes I feel like modern medicine is a game where patients pay for the privilege of finding their own way out of the maze.
Right now I’m losing time, money, and what remains of my patience. Over the last month the clicking in my jaw has returned, and I even had a migraine again. Only once, but that was enough to make me ask a very unpleasant question: what if all that treatment was for nothing?
I’m so angry I can barely put it into words. Angry enough to cause a scene at the clinic where I was treated. Maybe now they’ll come up with a solution. Because thinking about how much time, energy, and money went into this situation is enough to make me laugh in a slightly unhinged way.
As for my father, that became its own little chapter of absurdity.
Yesterday I saw him for the first time since everything happened. He acted as if nothing had happened at all. As if some people genuinely believe that if they ignore a problem long enough, it will quietly transform into a memory.
That made me even angrier.
I no longer want to allow that kind of treatment. If he wants a relationship with me, an apology is where it has to start.
Other than that, my life currently looks like an endless medical tour.
Yesterday I received my latest test results. Every year I check my B12, iron, and vitamin D levels because I’m vegetarian.
So far, everything looks good. Only vitamin D decided to remind me of its existence and ask for a little extra attention.
I’ve also had what feels like every ultrasound possible: thyroid, breasts, liver, pancrеas, kidnеys, lymph nоdes, utеrus, ovаries, stomach, and blаdder.
These are the exciting hobbies of your thirties 😁
But there is good news.
I’m healthy.
And honestly, that is the most important news of all right now.
Now I just need to solve the jaw situation. Because if the migraines decide to move back in permanently, we are definitely not going to get along.
On Thursday at 10 a.m. I’m heading back to Warsaw and switching into full work mode. There is a lot waiting for me.
And I’ve also decided to repaint the bathroom walls.
Yes. Again. 😁
So keep an eye on Instagram. I’ll be sharing the chaos as it unfolds.
