Hi, it’s me again — your personal tour guide through the wonders of the Universe.
Here’s my vision board from last year: a full-blown art piece made of glue, ambition, and a delightful amount of delusion.
On it — a couple of countries I dreamt of visiting.
One of them was Slovenia.
Beautiful, mysterious, and utterly unattainable.
I was obsessed with the idea. Burning with wanderlust.
But — spoiler alert — there are no direct flights from Warsaw.
And, let me remind you, I travel by the sacred code of “cheap and kinda angry.”
More than $50 for a ticket? That’s not travel anymore — that’s luxury and mild moral decay.
I’ve always believed I have a gift for finding crazy travel deals.
Maybe in a past life, I was a bargain-hunting demon working part-time for Ryanair.
Once I did a full weekend in Budapest — flights, food, and stay — for $130 total.
Still don’t believe I sold my soul to the devil for a discount? Think again.
But Slovenia was a challenge. A final boss in my budget travel game.
And then — like a divine plot twist — I get a message from friends:
“We’re going to Slovenia by car. One of the guys — who also happens to be a driver — might not make it back in time.”
Cars are already rented, money paid, the Universe is winking like a flirty barista.
Of course I said “YES” without a second thought.
I love driving. It’s therapy without the invoice.
Just me, the road, music, my existential thoughts — and I don’t even have to pay for anything.
If that’s not a birthday gift, I don’t know what is.
And yes, I spent the whole month secretly hoping that guy wouldn’t make it back.
That’s why I didn’t tell anyone — because lately, as you may recall, Lady Luck don’t like me lately.
Yes, I’m a bad person. Write it down.
But honestly — humans are selfish by design, aren’t we?
Thinking about yourself is just… nature.
Or am I just excusing myself with poetic bullshit?
Anyway.
Tomorrow is my birthday.
I’ll be behind the wheel, on the road, music playing, thinking about my life.
At exactly 15:45 — thirty years ago — it all began.
And somehow, moments like this feel like it’s all starting over again.
Slovenia, I’m coming.
Universe, thank you.
Guy… I’m sorry.
But hey — the Universe wanted this. Who am I to argue with destiny?
