I’m the same age as the California Raisins stop-action film. I’ve seen it many times, and often attributed it as a formative introduction to Motown. The Raisin band sings “Heard it Through the Grapevine.” Now, I pride myself on making connections quickly, and having a fairly large frame of historical/cultural reference. It just now dawned on me that a song about “Grapevine” is fitting.
