🔥 The Hair of the Dog Is Stranger Than You Think 💋
So the other morning after I woke up, poured a little hair of the dog, then suddenly thought… why do we call it that? 😂
Turns out it comes from an old folk belief: if a dog bit you, people used to take some hair from that same dog and put it in the wound. They thought it would cure the bite (and even protect against rabies). Over time the idea of “fighting fire with fire” got applied to hangovers, so one more drink of what made you sick the night before became known as “hair of the dog.” 🐕😳
My curious little mind wants to know…
What did YOU think “hair of the dog” meant? And please leave comments, you guys know I love reading and responding to your notes. 🥰
