Back at the vet again today. Yesterday Mickey was in a fight with couple other dogs at daycare no actually was watching the camera when it happened. I was concerned, but saw him walking around before they pulled him. I figured they checked him over good while he was by himself. Went to pick him up and not a word was mentioned so I inquired. Didn’t seem they thought it was a big deal. I understand fights happen and they do what they can to mitigate the risk. I’m not mad it happened, but my issue is they didn’t inform me. Even a quick mention he was in a fight we checked him out, but you may want to keep an eye on him would have been courtesy. Anyway, he slept most of the evening. Just before bed he was licking his hind leg. I looked at it and clearly it was from a bite. Hard to say if there was a puncture. I used some alcohol to clean the area and put in some antibiotic salve on it,, this morning he didn’t want to go for our typical walk. I walked just for a potty break and he was lagging behind. Took him back inside and the area was red and some inflammation. Got him into the vet. He was given antibiotics and pain med with anti inflammatory. What kills me is the meds were just as much as office visit. Those antibiotics at Walmart would’ve been $5 at most vs $60. 😖🙄. Next time I know to ask if the meds can be bought at regular pharmacy and aft for a script 🙄.
