How would you feel if I changed platforms from Patreon to Fourthwall?
Everyone! I need your honest opinion, thoughts, and comments.
As many of you probably already know, Patreon has recently made some changes that make the experience here difficult for both NSFW creators and consumers. Namely:
1) No longer allowing m 0 mmy and d 4 ddy content, inconsistent policing of NSFW content, and increasingly unclear NSFW policies
and
2) The new implementation of a 30% fee for consumers who purchase memberships through the Apple app stores. This puts creators in an uncomfortable position where we either have to pass that price increase onto consumers or take a 30% loss on new memberships purchased through the app store. This is also on top of an already high 8% processing fee taken out of my income each month.
Basically, Patreon is making their platform a difficult place to be a creator and a consumer.
So, what's the solution? I have been invited to migrate my Patreon over to FourthWall. They have 0 NSFW content restrictions and lower platform fees for creators. Additionally, they allow creators to design and brand their site and attach a custom domain name (alextalksasmr . com here we come!!!) I will also have the ability to offer members-only merch, membership sales, and paid chat with subscribers through DM's. It is almost identical to Patreon in design and function.

They have been incredibly welcoming and helpful and I am convinced that this is a better platform not just for us, but for ALL NSFW creators on Patreon. The question is... how would YOU feel if I were to make this move?
I'm aware that many people have multiple Patreon subscriptions and having to go to another website just to view my content might be cumbersome. If a majority of people would find this transition difficult or likely to affect their future as an Alex Talks ASMR member, I would not make the move.
Fourthwall DOES have an app, but it’s individual to each creator. So, you’ll have a completely independent “Alex Talks Asmr” app on your phone.
So, let me know how you feel in the poll and down in the comments! Make your voice heard and help me make this HUGE decision for the future of our community!
Some random thoughts:
—If I were to move, I would offer a discounted month to all people who make the switch from my Patreon to my Fourthwall (also a discount on merch!).
—If you purchased an annual membership and want to move to Fourthwall, I would refund the remaining amount on your purchase.
—I would likely keep the Patreon active (posting on both Patreon and Fourthwall) until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.
—My Patreon has the potential of being taken down/having content removed if I remain. This is due mostly to Patreon's inconsistent and unclear NSFW policies.
—ALL of my previous audios would be available to listen to on FourthWall
—Custom Audios and Merch will be purchasable from the FourthWall site, meaning there would be only ONE place for all things Alex. No more going through Ko-Fi for custom audio, Spring for merch, etc.

No still trying to figure out logistics. I’ll definitely let you all know and do a big public post if I go through with it with detailed information about making new accounts, etc
It's ofc entirely up to you and your decision as to what works better for you. For me personally it's just that other people I also follow on Patreon are also thinking about posting elsewhere (fansly, subscribestar.adult) so it gets a little more complicated and messy for me personally, but I completely understand, If you are unhappy with posting on Patreon.

Idk if it's already part of your plan, but I'd probably offer both while Patreon is viable. You could start to migrate people over by advertising discounts or "disallowed" content on Fourthwall to the Patreon users. Then fully move over when you have to or have build up Fourthwall audience.

I hate that pateon act like this , since it was the place where I support all my favorite audio roleplayers and ASMRtist. I completely understand and support to switch to other platforms still, but I wish that was a collective platform 😢

I had a few thoughts. Foremost, I support your transition to Fourthwall 100%, especially if it means you will be able to make the content you enjoy with less restrictions. Unfortunately, Youtube doesn't support its creators as well as it used to, and it's sad to see that Patreon, the only way for most creators to make a living, is suffering from the same pitfalls. If you were to move to Fourthwall, when do you expect to complete this transition? I say this because it brings to mind that some people who move platforms may be paying extra for the transition, as the date of your new site's launch may fall after the renewal of someone's subscription. However, I imagine this would be a hard problem to solve. I wouldn't be surprised if you had a subscription renewal for your channel every day of the month. It is nice that you are offering a discount and refund though; that is much appreciated. Also, will there be any changes to the subscription costs? Same questions as everyone else: is there an app version and can I listen to audio without having my screen on/active? To be honest, I only got Patreon and discord because of you - I didn’t know what it was before you 😅 The other subscriptions I have on here haven’t posted in a few good months, so I wonder if they’re having the same issues as you around NSFW content…. 🤔 Regardless, pop off sis - do what’s best for you!

I'd hate for you to risk getting your patron removed or having to restrict the content you want to make to stay on a site that clearly doesn't want you so I'd be happy to move wherever would be best for you. Definitely don't want to be encouraging how patreon is operating by continuing to use them too.
Easy call for me. Platforms get away with being shitty by virtue of inertia, and if there's a home that treats both you and us better, that's a no brainer imo.

For me moving to fourth wall is easy enough since I only have two Patreon subscriptions. I’d like to mention you’re not the only person on here thinking about moving to another platform. If I were you I’d be trying really hard to contact other big creators on here and attempt to coordinate a move.
I was about to cancel my membership here because it did feel like Pateron was hindering your art and as much as I wanted to continue, I couldn't agree how this platform was treating your work. I'd be proud to support you over there.

You make wonderful points, and I'd go with your gut feeling. Inconsistent policies are despicable. I'd follow you over to a new platform, the only concern I have is if there is an app version. I exclusively use the Patreon app since I tend to fall asleep listening to audios. Regardless, I think you should make the move! You've pointed out a lot of new opportunities that could be very exciting for you as a content creator!
Half the problem is Apple being Apple, so I wouldn't put all the blame on Patreon, but they do have difficulties too. Any creator in NSFW spaces is going to have to regularly migrate to new, smaller platforms as the payment processor illuminati catch on to their existence. Go for it.

I've seen creators move over to that site and have no problems with that. It's very similar to patreon in layout so it shouldn't be too much of a shock for most people I think! Looking forward to the site if/when you do switch

I personally am very happy for you, I am happy that you are moving platforms. I also have the deepest feeling of me not being very happy about you moving platforms in a way because I have difficulty with adjusting to change, but regardless, I am very, very happy for you. And I do think you should move platforms. The only thing is that I probably won’t be a part of it for a while because I am in a situation right now. As soon as I get out I promise I will come back as soon as possible.

i know of a creator who uses fourthwall and i like the layout of it, i wouldnt mind it (and honestly kinda like it a little more), and if its something you want to do then i am all for it

I’m fine with moving on from Patreon, but are any of the other NSFW sites an option? Like OF or Fansly? I already use all 3, so would prefer to not add a 4th. Though I would still sub there, if you ultimately decide that is what you want to do.

And here I thought Patreon was cool; that’s incredibly disappointing that most people came to Patreon to avoid the strict policing on YouTube, die the hero or live long enough to become the villain and all that. Speaking of someone with a disability, I genuinely hope the new platform is accessible, I also believe that moving would probably be the best idea.
I think it's a great financial decision for everyone. More revenue for Alex and cheaper membership costs for the consumer. Fourth wall has a mobile app and seems user friendly.
I want the money I pay to go to the creators, so I wouldn't mind if it meant you got more out it.

yes, they would stay the same! there's a potential I would even lower them across the board, but I can't make any promises until I do a budget analysis with FourthWall's creator fees
