The absolute best fireside chat on my listen through so far; absolutely crying laughing at points but also: official appreciation for Mr. Chip Tastic’s unappreciated hauntingly whispered “No-han”.

Favorite fireside dessert is a banana boat. Slice a banana lengthwise (peel still on, make sure not to pierce the peel on the other side to leave a hinge), stuff that baby full of marshmallow and your preferred chocolate chips. Roll in aluminum foil and sit in the embers until everything gets gooey and melted. Once opened up, add whipped cream on top for a fantastically delicious dessert.

Not to be too controversial, but as a camp pro, add a square of caramel at the top of the marshmallow skewer. When you pull the mallow off, the caramel oozes into the middle. Game changer.

Hot take? You flash crisp the outer layer of the mallow, so it's crispy & gooey & slips right off, then you go back into the fire with the middle bit. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm not a big fan of Marshmellows but I love s'mores. I made a method to wrap the graham cracker and hershey sandwich in foil and then melt the chocolate to have it without marshmellow. Definitely more difficult but with patience you can succeed.

A friend taught me to replace chocolate and graham cracker with Fudge Stripe style cookies (chocolate side on the inside) for a different (to me, more enjoyable) ratio and less assembly kerfuffle.

Burning the marshmallow is absolutely necessary.

Why are we not discussing chocolate choice for the s’more discourse? Gotta balance the sweet with a darker chocolate! Peak is 70-80% dark chocolate with mint. Also golden skin marshmallow is the correct mallow.

Here for the s’mores chat! Had a s’mores bar at my wedding last December. Took the poor caterer an hour to start a campfire in the drizzly afternoon but ended up really choice, had one with a molasses cookie instead of a graham cracker and boy howdy, what a treat.
