I really need to APPLAUD Big Giant Head productions for the phenomenal sound design on these episodes! There is so much going on, but it’s all beautifully subtle and calibrated in a way to enhance and harmonize with our players’ stories, not overwhelm them. All the way down to the little sounds of XL-ZL’s body emoting 😭

@Craig_Sumgee for real tho we're always in the market for NPC generator "spark tables", they're especially helpful for playing solo RPGs! there's plenty of stuff out there for names & general personality traits already, but if you had a list of, like, "d100 things about a Wizard of the Citadel or Starship Crew Member that help you figure out what the rest of their vibe is" that'd be real handy to include in a setting sourcebook or other GM aid

XL-ZL's story reminds me of flowers from Algernon. That suddenly knowing and the sadness and inescapable depth of feeling of how much larger the world is and the duality of how simultaneously small and large your part is within it all. Its Frodo confiding in Sam and pushing him away to take on the task themselves while longing to draw him nearer to share the burden and its Sams quiet refusal and unwavering support to the end. XL-ZLs story makes me indigo purple about having to feel those things as a mortal and yet continue to carry onwards as we always know we must, though we resent it.

Loving the cowboy bebop meets Flash Gordon soundtrack when Z interacts with his mom. Lou's effortlessly cool characters are always a joy and Aabria's nuanced interactions are worthy of study.

I’m loving all of the Chee love here, I also really hope we get to hear more from her aunt!

I’m halfway through the ep — but DAMN Aabria. Your portrayal of The Big System Dude vaguely threatening the (largely female) frontline workers is CHEF’S KISS. The phrase “Duty of Care” and all it insinuates is spot on. You’re healing my “nurse trying so hard to just do the right thing” soul. I’ve received a talk like the one between Chee and Tesker Parsons MANY a time.

Man idk if I can put into words how much I adore Chee Tanka. One of my favorite tropes is “woman whose superpower is diplomacy” and she truly is the Olivia Pope of space. But it’s more than that bc she’s also an escort which hits me right in the Firefly, though …in my humble opinion, Erika understands Whedons Space brothel better than he does. God, I just love how much character and passion is woven into Chee—beyond being a force to reckon with she is also a force of intense good and empathy in the style of Maeve from Westworld, which fuckin rules. Honestly, it’s all just so awesome that I’m frankly stumbling over my praises a bit lol but yall get the gist I hope
