The drop into that heavy bass beat when they started getting targeted at the end made such a cool atmosphere and set the tone so well. Fantastic work creating such a great universe/atmosphere so far!

oh my gosh wait.... I think it's Ayasa. I hope I'm wrong, but I think it's Ayasa 😭

In a previous fireside, Aabria mentioned how her little one already responds to the other’s voices. When this episode started in our morning drive, my 1yo squealed in joy to hear Aabria. Babies know what’s good…

V interested in what Z was on about — is he a descendant that carries the name Ze'Doven, or is he a clone? You become a "trent"(?) once 30 previous people holding your name have done something "great"... what counts as great? and why would it matter to YOUR personhood unless you were the same person, i.e. a clone of all the previous ones??

The cull is coming from inside the house!

“It’s not a true sandwich. It’s an outward manifestation of anxiety.” Fuckin’ lol.

I foresee my future heartbreak re: XL-ZL's innocence being taken advantage of or his optimism bleakened.

Could we pretty pretty please have a diagram of the Arabesque? 🙏 🥰

I haven't seen the fireside chats in awhile. Did I miss a post about them being on pause? Are they multi-episode fireside?

J
J. Gro · May 19, 2026

I'm wondering the same and haven't seen anything. 🫤

At first I though that one of the personalities of the ship was one of XLZLs people or proto-people before they vecame the Arina(sp?). And when the woman who jas the sweet 16 ship said whnlen they gave it to me was like, when do we find out about her 5 families connection? Loved therapy time with the crew, gerkins, and a transforming outter house to show a vas ass space ship ❤️

Really enjoyed this episode!

Now I'm wondering if Z was pulled not to get him away from the strike but instead to get him away from the cull.

The Arabesque being a Sweet Sixteen ship sent me. And loving the turn to political machinations with Z and his family.

M
Mia Mac-Pry · May 12, 2026

Also the older protocol of the Arabesque gave full on “Auntie is about to throw her slipper at you” vibes

Truly 1,000,000 points for the Cowboy Bebop jazz under the action sequence right up top. My heart, it sings.

"Disunity of the mind is the great wound at the heart of the cosmos. Your ship is fractured." What a way to say goodbye lol

I had to pull over I was laughing so damn hard at this.

Time to push Z out the nest seems like!!! Oh shit!!! I don't know if it was a GM round table or something, but I remember a comment along the lines of "If everything is good, the PCs wouldn't leave, they need a reason to go on an adventure" from one of these beautiful people.

Olivia Buse · May 12, 2026

I have never wanted to see anything animated more than XL-ZL running around screaming for help 😂. Just that whole scene please and thank you

N
Nym · May 12, 2026

I imagined it as that anime thing where a character is running so fast that their whole bottom half just looks like a blurred wheel

C
Camille Lanata · May 12, 2026

I love that there’s another episode! Did I miss the fireside chats for eps 3 & 4 though? or are they coming later?

N
Nym · May 12, 2026

You didn’t miss them. They seem to have either skipped them or perhaps they are still to come. Instead we got instances of At the Well (sci-fi version) and a GM discussion.

Hey Aabria, I was promised a happy go lucky pirate game. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON! ITS EPISODE 5!!! Great show, idk how long it’s gonna go but I love everything about this.

Not me coming back from pirouette ballet training to see this title. Having a very panicked knee jerk reaction hahahaha

R
Ren · May 12, 2026

The way I was internally screaming “ASK HER ABOUT THE MOLE!!!” was dramatic

An actual grenade?! Aabria, you minx!

loooong thoughts: I adore that XL-ZL is seeming to be more naive about death than cavalier with life. Intellect versus experience is a fun contrast to play with. I think I was assuming he was wise because he is so sweet and devout (which is silly and, like, a major problem with everything right now, duh). I am not immune to propaganda. Fun fact: professional listening is a thing and there are organizations that do it for folks who need it. It is NOT therapy, but it is very cool and a fun restorative skill for XL-ZL to have. Z's whole background is so dense and suffocating. I was raised in a way that the bar was, like, in the core of the Earth, and I often reflect on how easy that makes it for me to be at peace with my choices. (I do also think that his family is gross and exploitative and eugenicist, but expectations are expectations). I love that he's got stuff going on under the hood. The cleverness and awareness that he seems to take for granted in himself are lovely. It was fun to see him geek out about the ship. Chee and Ayasa are very fun, and Erika and Aabria are doing a great job. It's really hard to communicate the way close friends create their own language, and I caught the vibe right away. I also liked that we got insight into Chee's inner world. I know a lot of people had questions about her reactions in earlier episodes, so it's nice to hear. Also, ooh! New thing to worry about and now the grenade makes sense.

What an amazing episode, the ending had me whisper yelling "fuuuuuuuuuvk" under my breath right next to my boss 🤣

N

Such a good end, can't wait for the fireside on this one!

B

Amazing as per, but the ending?! What?!!! How. Dare! Why?! I can’t wait two whole weeks!!

N
Nym · May 12, 2026

Seconded. After binging WWW straight through, this every two weeks is killing me.

Love how quickly 'I accept death' shifts in the face of it. 'This experience should be saved for near the end'

You can accept it if necessary while still trying to avoid it if it’s not!
