Well I'm way way behind back on ep 30, but I just heard Erika shout out Jesse Buddington, which blew my mind because I was in a production of Jesus Christ, Superstar with him when he was I think in high school way back in I think 1999. I think I ran into him once a church singing gig for a mutual voice teacher a few years later. Just had to acknowledge it somewhere, even if this just disappears down the internet hole.

When they said “Find your people and tell your own stories” … I would absolutely love to! It would be so awesome to run a campaign or even a oneshot with people who get as into the story and characters as they do and I want to, but every time I start to get deep into character or setting or story at a table I get the weird looks and the “oh you don’t have to take it that seriously” or people saying “is it ok to not speak in character?” I even DMd for a person who after I painted a concise but (hopefully immersive) word picture of the world, and hand drew/created maps, I asked them to describe what their character looks like and they said “I don’t really think of my PC like that, more about what they can do.” Which is to say, they don’t know how rare they are, and it’s wonderful, such an inspirational treat… and who else is LFG? Can I run a game for you? J/K but not J/K.

Also you all really have inspired me in my own game. I already found some of the best people to play with but I think my own ability to roleplay, make truthful decisions, and really interact with the other PC's stories has been elevated so much from seeing the pros do it.

I’ve been wondering too! I’ve been playing PF2 for a couple of months. All the sentiments to the affect that if you play 5e you’re 90% of the way there are horseshit, but there are many things that make more sense to me in it. Certainly the skeleton of the rules is the same; Pathfinder is an offshoot of D&D 3.5. The basic shape of the mechanics is like 5e, but there are maybe 3-5 shades/subcategories for each rule or situation. Ha I’d love to see them use Starfinder! Paizo deserves the support, and apparently the campaign I joined is heading into that system after this “book.” SF or no, Aabria is a big proponent of other TTRPGs, so I’d be surprised if she doesn’t change it up! 🤞🏽

The wizard the witch and the wild one is probably the greatest piece of media I've ever experienced...its one of the few things in the current day and age that gives me hope, the world is burning...but I can hear stories from some of my favorite people...and yes this show has given me inspiration to make my own story telling podcast...its great and these people bring me joy.

I'm on my 3rd listen right now, and honestly because I am normally working while listening, it only gets better with re-listens...everything was foreshadowed...in my first live listen I figured out a few twists about 3 months ago, but the ground work was their from like the 3rd episode...these are the best people, making the best stories and I love it!

Making me want to tell my own stories with my friends is what this podcast has been doing since the very firs episode; a feeling, I think, very few creations can boast to create in their audience. It's absolutely crazy how such a well-crafted story can seem accessible by all.

Aabria is actually the reason I sought out actual play; she was a GM for a one-shot for The Guild during lockdown and it was the first time I saw a black woman, someone who looked like me, playing D&D. It took an additional 2 years for me to stumble onto D20 and I was so ecstatic when I realized she was the same GM for MisMag. Not only did I love MisMag but ACOFAF immediately became my comfort D20 season as soon as I watched it. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Aabria does with a long form campaign. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
